Cruise terminal to Auckland Airport using discount taxis or Uber

if using discount taxis or Uber where is the pick up point on the Auckland wharf are the regular Auckland taxis exspensive thank you Aussie

There are two cruise terminal wharves in Akl but cars can drive onto both to pickup/dropoff zones. I would use Uber but be aware that UberXL availability is not reliable whereas you can almost always get UberX in a couple of minutes.

Taxis are expensive in Auckland; very expensive really. You'll be very close to where the Airport bus starts it's run.

What would a taxi from the terminal to the airport cost, approximately?

I guess about US$70. Uber X about US$30 and UberXL about the same as a taxi.

The Sky Bus is just across the road. Its a bit of a shambles at the moment around there as they are excavating for the new rail system.

LOL; I've known a multimillionaire or two who would throw a fit over the taxi fare, but at 5am I just want someone to take me there!

Just looked at the SkyBus webpage - looks like the terminus is at 396 Queen St and there's apparently a free shuttle from the waterfront.
