One of the tours offered by RCL is a 9 hour tour form Boston to Cape Cod. One of the stops is Chatham for lunch and browsing/shopping. ? How long does it stay in Chatham & the specific stop/location before departing. Trying to determine if I have sufficient time to get together with some old colleagues.

According to the excursion description: Free time in Chatham is approximately 1.5 hours. You can walk Chatham, end to end, in about 20 minutes. I believe the bus would drop you in the parking area just behind St Christopher's Episcopal Church, Main St which is at the start of Main St.

There is are 2 mistakes in the description.

  • At the small port of Hyannis, you’ll step aboard a boat for a narrated sightseeing cruise along the Cape Cod Canal. The straight line distance from Hyannis to the CCC is about 19 miles. They must mean Lewis Bay and Nantucket Sound.
  • Cruise along Cape Cod Canal: Capture views of the Kennedy Compound; take in the lovely surrounding scenery. The Kennedy Compound is not along the CCC, but faces Nantucket Sound.

Saw this under Important Notes. Tour may start at Chatham first when tour is starting after 9 am, so guests can enjoy lunch in Chatham at a reasonable time.

JMHO, but if you want to see Cape Cod properly and not in a whirl wind, take a land vacation there.

True you are. Just wondering if by the description of "small port", they actually mean Barnstable Harbor on the bay side. They do tour the Canal from there (Hyannis is actually a village within the town of Barnstable.....as well as the County of Barnstable).
