Getting to Bruges

Barnum42 - that's interesting re the walk from the port along the beach to Blankenberg. We might consider that if the weather is nice.

Blankenberg must be a bit of a different place re dogs.... we saw lots of little dogs being pushed around in doggy pushchairs/prams complete with raincover. It was quite bizarre.

Florry's timetable says 42 mins past the hour to Bruges and 5 past the hour back, both with a 13 minute journey time.

Do they speak French or Flemish in Blankenberge

ps - how do you pronounce these names, is it a soft or hard 'g' ?

They speak both and they also speak excellent English and German. During business visits I found that even in small towns that don't see many foreign visitors the Belgians will speak several languages and I have only had to speak to one person once in French everyone else has spoken English. I believe that languages are seen as an important part of the Belgian education system.

Blankenberge is a hard g.
