Divina Casino in the Med...EUR or USD?

I would imagine it's Euros - in my case I'm hoping it is!:) I'd be interested in the answer, too and am watching for reviews generally about the Divina in the Med.

I'd love to know if she's kept a bit of an American vibe. It would make for a different experience to what I've had on her sister ships Preziosa, Splendida & Fantasia. Each has their own character and I'm dying to get a sense of Divina's.

There wasn't much of an American vibe when we sailed her out of Miami. LOL Beautiful ship, great crew.

I've heard that before but perhaps it may be more noticeable to us non-Americans LOL. The menus and service onboard seem to me to be more US-led from what I've garnered from reviews here but that may just be perception. I'm really looking forward to finding out for myself in September. Hopefully there'll be a few reviews coming in over the next few weeks from those who're sailing on her in the Med.

I think you're right. In any case, I'm sure it will be an excellent experience. We don't worry much when we are on vacation and we welcome unique differences. The world is a big place - the differences are what we can all learn from.

I can't wait until some Med reviews start posting. We are leaving in 3 weeks and I'm hoping we will get to see some reviews before we leave - just to know what to expect.

What are they using in the casino when the Divina sails the Med, euros or dollars? Thanks!

I'd be amazed if it were not euros. Vast majority of passengers will be European and they certainly will not have any dollars on them. Everything else onboard will be in euros. When they switch currencies on their ship, they usually switch absolutely everything.

Stranger things have happened! That's why I always ask - even if it seems like a silly question.

We didn't sail the Med, but we just posted part 2 of our review on the Divina in our personal travel blog. Please feel free to provide feedback, as it is only about a month old, and we are new to this blogging thing. :) There are a lot of pictures and opinions of the ship. We sailed out of Miami on a 7 night, and had a great time. Beautiful ship!

You're absolutely right, Res. I would never state anything on here as fact - things can and do change, sometimes for the good and other times not so good

However, MSC are adept at currency changeovers when their ships come back to the Med from the winter sun destinations where US$ is used onboard. All the bar menus are replaced with ones showing the Euro prices, etc and the American branded items get replaced with European ones (I'm thinking about the snacks and juices in the minibar for example Pringles etc get changed out. I was very disappointed on my last cruise from Brazil to find that the bottles of Skipper juices weren't available. I don't drink coffee and Skipper was my morning wake-up drink when I sailed in the Med!)

Bon voyage, bytheway - I see your upcoming cruise is only a couple of weeks away. And YC - Sophie Loren Suite! Hope you have a ball! Come back and let us know how you got on - I'm dying to hear reports from Divina in the Med.

I'm so happy to hear we get to try some new snacks and drinks! Since we are from the U.S. I'm also glad I purchased the drink coupons in advance in US $.

I can't wait for this cruise. It is my husband's gift to me for my 50th birthday. It is something I never expected and am SO GRATEFUL. I will definitely post a review.

Was on the Divina for her Grand Voyage transatlantic cruise, she changed over to Euros when she docked at Civitevecchia this Saturday. The ship is beautiful, have a good cruise.:)

I'm getting so excited about this trip!

Here is a link to my review of an E Med cruise on Divina from before she crossed the pond to the US.
