I wonder if any regulars could advise on suite selection? We are looking for a non aft B4 suite on Britannia, are there any suite nos we should avoid or are they all much of a muchness? Has anyone stayed in one they can reccommend? Is there any point in paying the extra for a B2 instead? Thankyou

Not sure what you mean by 'non-aft' as, per the deck plan, all B4's are aft. Do you mean you don't want one overlooking the wake?

We've had both - one at the aft on the side (B702) and one overlooking the wake (B724). The only difference is the size of the balcony, which is considerable. The cabin itself is no different (well the ones we had anyway).

Personally I wouldn't pay the difference.

The only reason B2's are slightly more money is because they are slightly further towards the centre of the ship making them, supposedly, more stable in rough weather.

I would like to try one at the front (a B5) but if you suffer from motion sickness they would not be a good idea. Apparently their layout is completely different.

We had a B5 cabin, F1 last year. I believe the layout is completely different to some of the other suites. Huge bedroom, a bit triangular in shape, with a sitting area at the front which was fabulous watching the whales and docking in the ports. Huge banks of wardrobes. The balcony was disappointing as it was very narrow but I believe that it was the same depth as every other balcony on the side of the ship. Consequently the balcony furniture felt cluttered and almost impossible to use the table and chairs. I can only compare it to the aft delux cabins which have a deeper balcony. There was an overhang which did provide some shade. It was quite bumpy at the front travelling down to the Canaries across the Bay and several loud clunking noises in the night which woke us up. The other downside is that we felt overlooked by the crew socialising on the front of the ship. We had to ensure the front blinds were down when getting ready at night and they were a bit noisy on occasion. Saying that my other half wants to try a wrap around on the aft.
