Coral, Emerald, Grand, Island, Ruby, or Star for Alaska 9/17? (itinerary flexible)

We have been on quite a few Alaska cruises. We have seen Glacier Bay, College Fjord, Hubbard Glacier; have visited Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Icy Strait Point. We love it all! This time, we have no specific "want to"s; we're going to enjoy the scenery and the trip.

With that info, which ship would you go on, and why? (We have been on the Grand and Ruby.)

LOVED our Alaska cruise on Coral last year. Nice size ship, very friendly staff, beautiful views from Horizon Court at front of ship, open aft space on several decks.

We had an inside cabin on Emerald toward the aft and it was lovely to pop out back and watch the wake - we saw orcas out there one night!

Island or Coral. Take B2B from Vancouver and on turnaround day try the 26 glacier cruise (book direct with Phillips, not through the ship). Check out the Ketchikan Totem Heritage Center (around $5) and the Alaska Eagle Preserve float in Skagway (expensive ship tour, actually in Haines). Author Tom Lang is a guide on many days there. "Bear" has an anger management issue. Tom is a funny in real life as his stories and will gladly sell you an autographed set.

If you wait until June or so Princess might have some sale pricing for August/September.

Coral. NOT Island. We hated what they had done to her. Love Coral but definitely not fans of Island after the chop job that made the entire aft portion into cabins instead of public space. Island isn't a horrible ship or anything but it will be our last choice with Princess if there is any other ship available for the itinerary. Like I said, we love Coral.

Ruby or Emerald would be good. Star and Grand are kind of a toss up with some things in favor of Star and Alfredo's in favor of Grand.
