Dawn - Inside Cabin 9115 - Thoughts?

Hello,

I have booked an inside cabin on the Dawn, room 9115. This is a sideways cabin as I was told those have the best layout. There is only going to be myself and one other person in the cabin.

Did I make the right choice? It is mid-ship.

Sideways "appeared" roomier & with 2 of you, should be just fine, during the day, turn on the stateroom TV to the shipcam channel & you will see what's going on outside over the horizon, great for sleeping at night. Should be quiet with cabins directly above & below, the white area/space behind is crew service & storage area, their stairs & elevators but noise not an issue. You are near the AFT elevators & stairs, easy walk up to buffet/pool deck and down to O'Sheehans/Blue Lagoon & lobby/main deck to the MDR, etc. Leave all the lights on & it will be just as bright, and there's even a switched light inside the closet to help unpack/pack & get organized.

Missed the Dawn old days, haven't been on her in 10 days since she left original NYC homeport - happy sailing.

I would be happy with that choice :)

Thank you! I am OK with having a dark room (actually prefer it) - was more concerned with the location on the ship.

It is considered mid-ship but you do mention that I'm near the AFT elevators, what is directly behind me? I thought those were stairs and elevators for the passengers use. Did I assume wrong?

9115 is a great location. You're by the mid-ship elevators, not aft & if you go into the internet cafe, the stairs take you right to Blue Lagoon.

Good to know! Thank you!

And the notorious question... where is the closest bar? ;)

Ultimate Beverage Package and all....

Oh and another question...

I noticed its one of the very few inside cabins that does not have the (+) sign next to the number to indicate it sleeps four people. Does that mean it does not sleep four? OR does it mean its smaller?

The nearest bar is the Atrium bar on deck 7. No + indicates the cabin apparently only holds 2 people. It doesn't mean that it's smaller. Inside cabins are listed as 142. Family insides are larger.

Perfect!

I'm assuming that means it doesn't have the pull down bed from the wall which is great! I won't be bumping my head!

Mine bad, was try to type quick while upgrading Windows 10 on another PC earlier. That is near the MIDship elevator - that's what happened when your most recent sailings (ours) were on the *AWAY class ships, just 2 sets of elevators - those "real" AFT elevator on the Dawn/Jewel class ships aren't as crowded and don't go down to deck 5 or 4 (where we are sometimes "holed" up for the duration, LOL)

Agreed that specific cabin/location would be fine for us - DW prefers/wants the balcony, except last time, she spent a total of 10 minutes, say again - 10 minutes out there - and most of her time in the smokey casino :D So, I say unless we get another super deal, Oceanview or even Inside will be booked for the next one.

Cool thing about Dawn is the little balconies between the elevator.

From 9115 about fifteen step from the door you can overlook the atrium down to deck 7 and up to the top.:D

Bon Voyage - if you could, take some nice pix of the sideway inside cabin, post them here on CC, folks are always looking for them & you will be helping out fellow members. Post it here too, under Cabin Info - http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2060845
