Late sail away parties?

Hi we are sailing on QV out of Auckland March 6th and I saw that we leave port at 11pm will there be a sail away party that late never been to one so was looking forward to it. Allison:)

I seriously doubt it. I found on the 2014 World Voyage there were not as many sail-away parties as I was expecting.

As much as I love Cunard, sail away parties are not their strong point. I also doubt there'd be anything planned for a late sail away.

I remember when we sailed away from Honolulu just before midnight on the world cruise there was a spillway.

Love the 'Great Briitsh Sailaway' on P&O UK ships. On our first Cunard cruise on March 2, QM2 - Sydney-HK. Do Cunard have anything remotely similar to P&O UK's sailaways?

I am one of those people who is quite cynical about things and not easily impressed........but one of the nicest memories I have is the QM2 sailing away from Hamburg on a Cunard flag day........

Tens of thousands of people come and wave at you ........hundreds of boats on the water too.......we were on our balcony for almost an hour waving to people...".it really was one of those 'did it really happen' events. There is footage on you tube which shows some scale of the turnout. It really is an event

Cunard's sailaways are not quite like P & O. They are more sedate.
