Pride Aft Balconies

Hi, we are sailing on the Pride April 2nd 2017. We booked aft balcony cabins 6262 and 6264. This will be our first time in this category, but we have had regular balcony cabins in the past. So a couple of questions. I've been reading some reviews that say these cabins experience an unusual amount of vibration and noise, anyone who stayed in these cabins, was it really that bad? Also, are you able to open the dividers between these cabins like you are the regular balconies? In general, anyone staying in these cabins want to share your opinions and or pictures. Would greatly appreciate your input. This will be our 2nd time on the Pride, but first for this itinerary. We have also sailed the Legend twice before and we just love these ships! Thanks again!!

I had an aft view on the Miracle, and and aft wrap suite on the Legend. Was there some vibration? I think so , but honestly I can't remember. The positves of the cabin (awesome wake view, soothing sea sounds) far outweighed any negatives!

My DW and I just came back from the Pride staying in aft balcony 5297, and aside from a little bit of wear and tear, as usual we found it a very clean and nice cabin, right on par with our previous aft balconies on the Legend and Miracle. You're lucky that you got two adjacent balconies, riatees, that's pretty nice! You can definitely open the dividers to share the space, so you can have a pretty roomy balcony indeed. In ten years of being an aft devotee, I've never encountered much problem with vibration, soot, or debris, and we certainly didn't encounter any on this past cruise. The biggest thing we found one time on the Splendor was hearing the lounge chairs being dragged right above us on the Lido deck, but even then that wasn't too bad, and being on the sixth deck, you'll have plenty of buffer from that. We're hoping we get the same relative level of quiet next August in our Havana afts aboard the Vista, but since we've got two decks between us and the Havana area, this will hopefully be a good thing. I hope you enjoy the cabin and wish you a fantastic cruise!

We stayed in 6264 a year ago and had no issue. We loved it so much, we rebooked 6264 later this year.

We had the aft extended balcony on the Legend, and I had heard stories also, but we didn't have any issues at all - loved being at the back of the ship and watching the wake...

I love these balconies, just be careful of the ones next to the aft corner wraps. On some ships they are considerably smaller cabins. Just check Deck Plans, 360 degree view and cabin layout to make sure your cabin has a sofa and love seat. Most of our ext afts had these sofas and coffee table, but the Breeze, Deck 7, next to the corner wrap did not. I always make sure we get our money's worth on ext afts by making sure we have the ones with a coffee table and sofa. Otherwise the TV can only be watched by laying at the end of the bed and the cabin is significantly smaller. Balcony is still bigger, but I want the normal size room also.

Can any recent Pride cruisers that stayed in the extended afts on Panorama deck tell me if you had any sewage smells back there? I just cruised Pride April 15-23 and spent most of my time on Serenity on the aft near the railing. Every once in awhile, I would catch a whiff of sewage and this concerned me, as I have 8272 booked for a Pride cruise later this year. I usually stay midship on Panorama deck. No sewage smell. No vibration.

I do expect to get the vibration in 8272, as I've experienced 7300 on a prior Pride cruise a few years ago, but that sewage smell is disgusting and gross. I don't think I could stand that wafting into my space, not even occasionally.

Any info on this is appreciated. TIA.

We stayed in 6264 for 14 days in March. We loved it. Was there vibration? Yes, but none more so than any other aft cabin we have stayed in. We did not experience anything rattling off the desk or the cabin safe rattling all night like I had read. It was great. The only negative (Ok, there were 2 negatives) was that the door wouldn't latch tight and a whistling noise would start to happen, but that was fixed by calling Guest Services. Within 10 minutes or so of our call a maintenance guy showed up and fixed that problem. The other negative (to me) was that the balcony did not have a traditional lounge chair on it, just a regular chair that didn't recline and one chair that did...but you couldn't stretch out on it like you could a lounger. I just ended up using the small table that was out there as a leg rest. I did not notice any sewage smell or soot problems. I hope you all have a fantastic vacation!

  • 2 weeks later...

We've kind of become aft snobs. Our last 3 cruises have all been aft (Breeze, Dream, Liberty) and we have 2 aft balconies booked on the Pride for September. There is always a little more vibration in the aft (the lower the deck, the more you'll feel it) but we find it actually helps us sleep better.

Outside of a suite or wrap, these are the best cabins on the ship. Enjoy :D

Just booked my first Vista Aft Suite - 8268 for Thanksgiving. I'm a little concerned about vibration and noise from the Serenity Deck directly above. I would have chosen a lower deck but this was the the last Vista cabin... Anyone ever stayed in 8268 on the Pride?

Thanks!

Was in a cabin on Deck 2 on Vista almost all the way back and you couldn't tell we were moving even with some pretty rough seas the last couple of days. There was even very little vibration from the thrusters.

But Vista 8268 isn't an aft cabin.

And be aware that those aft cabins on Vista will overlook the private Havana pool area, not the sea. And that if you're located anywhere near the Havana Bar, you could have loud late-night music.

I wrote extensively about my Pride aft (4232) 2 years ago. Never again. It was horrible. Yes, she had had propulsion issues shortly before our sailing. It wasn't too bad until the night returning to Baltimore when I was repeatedly shaken awake over and over and over. I mean, seriously shaken. Like you're in a deep sleep and someone comes up and starts shaking you by the shoulder, telling you to WAKE UP! And I had a 6-hr drive home. I was very worried that I might fall asleep at the wheel and kill someone (or myself).

I'd had 4230 on Miracle a couple of years earlier and had no problems.

The views from the aft are wonderful and I love it back there but I have to able to sleep. I hope it's no longer an issue, but for the money, I just don't plan on ever risking it again.

DH and I stayed in this cabin on the Pride in 10.2014 and loved it. The only time I really noticed anything (and it was minimal) was when entering and leaving port. No issues any other time. We loved it so much that we booked the same exact cabin for the 10.2.16 cruise. Have fun!

Not on the Pride but we've had aft balconies below the Lido deck. There might be a little chair scraping noise but it was never bothersome. It's almost always empty at night and not much traffic in the morning.

With Serenity above you, you shouldn't have much if any chair noise and it's generally a quieter area on the ship so I would not be worried about it at all.

Hi, The Vista Suite 8268 is an aft wrap on the Pride. The title of this thread was Pride Aft Balconies - I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I can see how that can be confusing now that there is a Carnival Vista.

You booked 8268 for your trip in September? Very interested to hear how you like it! Fingers crossed. I've looked at changing rooms and I'm just not sure. Dammed if I do, dammed if I don't. LOL.

Oh, a Vista cabin. Not a cabin on Vista. I get it. :o

I really hope what I experienced has been cured. Still, I'm just not sure I'd risk it again. It was a very unpleasant experience. And very disappointing since it was only my 3rd balcony cabin (all 3 have been on Spirit-class ships). I was solo and had no solo supplement, which is the only reason I could afford the cabin. In the end, I wished I'd kept the 4K.

I was on the pride for 14 days as well in March. And although I had an 8k extended balcony. The girl from roll call had the Vista Suite 4228 and I spent more time in that room than my own. There is a sence of vibration since u are in the aft. But nothing major. No rocking or bumping what so ever. Leaving Antigua on like the 9th night it was ruff waters and u can feel it in the room but nothing that makes you sick or nausea. It's a beautiful room and the balcony is amazing. As I said I spent more time in that suite than I did my own room. And I can say not only did I love it. I booked the Vista Aft wrap on the sunshine in August from my free casino offer since I loved the aft wrap so much. Never once did the room smell of sewage but the 4th floor hallway did once u left the room. Idk about higher floors tho.

I have pics of the room if u are interested cpotter91@aol.com

You will deff love the pride! And I was honored to be on that ship for a full 14 day journey cruise.

I have an 8N (Panorama extended aft) booked for later this year on the Pride, but I can't stop thinking that I should change to a midship balcony on Panorama--where I usually stay when sailing this ship. I actually chose this room thinking that since it's not windy back there and the extended afts are warmer, it would be a good room for sailing to and from chilly Baltimore in November.

I'm actually more concerned about the reported sewage backing up into the shower than the vibrating.

Has anyone that has recently sailed on the Pride in the extended afts on the Panorama deck have any info to help me decide if I should change?
