  1. Zacapa Old Fashioned at the World Class Bar is the absolute nuts👌
  2. I agree with Honolulu Blue here in that the topic has become a bit rambling and petty. I’m sure with the sheer number of posts, especially the earlier posts, that Celebrity will have got the message that their changes have caused a problem. I think that if changes have to be made, for whatever reason, they should have been made gradually. Gradual change is so much less of a shock to the customers and thus met with less opposition.
  3. Thanks Honolulu Blue, the thread is long and I missed that. Fingers crossed common sense prevails as the potential for a big drop in bookings would spell disaster for the cruise line.
  4. All of these really negative comments, has there been any word from Celebrity by way of explanation or defence? If this continues unanswered then significant damage will be done to the brand, and once you lose customers due to a bad experience it is very difficult to ever get them back on board again. Hopefully Celebrity are reading this thread and wake up and smell the coffee.
  5. Left Sihouette and boarded Equinox same day but different ports. The protocol on Celebrity now is 5 days quarantine following a positive test result, it is then assumed you are non infectious. Room contacts quarantined for 24 hours and freed with a mask after a negative test. The protocol was followed to the letter and checked and double checked with medical and head office by the ship.
  6. Just home after 2 cruises kind of back to back, Silhouette Transatlantic then Equinox ABC’s. Both cruises, ships and all staff were great. Anyhow, on day9 mid Atlantic on the Silhouette I came down with Covid, DW avoided infection, was grotty for 2-3 days then felt good again. Celebrity we’re great from the moment I reported that I’d tested +ve, they told us both to stay in cabin and sent nurse along for sats, temp etc. She gave me some great knock out medicine so I slept well, DW was quarantined for 24 hours when a further -ve test allowed her free rein on the ship but having to wear a mask. Every day I was contacted by the Med Centre and by an Officer checking on my condition, also by room service for requests and was given MDR menus for all meals delivered. Could order any drinks also, so I found our veranda cabin to be a great place to be quarantined. Luckily I’d booked a port cabin which meant all day sunshine on the balcony going across the Atlantic. Thought I’d post this to show how well Celebrity handled the illness and seriously I couldn’t fault them.
  7. One last question, at the moment it’s £44.93 per package and it says 10% added value. How much is each package in dollars? I’m guessing $50, but is 10% added to this, so $55?
  8. Thanks StartrainDD, it’s normally $10 min bet/spin now but I’ll need 10 single dollar chips/spin. I’ll go ahead and order them now, still may lose but at least I’ll start with an edge over the house on the single zero table😀.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. I’m intending using them on roulette as I said and as such will need 1$ chips for covering a few numbers. When I’ve had the free promo chips in the past they were 5$ and you had to match the bets, this time 5$ chips are too high a denomination for me.
  10. You can buy promo chips before the cruise and get 10% extra. My question is the form the promo chips come in and when playing what is the difference between these and chips that can later be cashed in. I know promo chips must be played through, are these given in 1$ denominations? Finally I note that when you go to the cashier to collect your promo chips you have to collect them all at the same time, I take it that these promo chips can be played over a few days and don’t have to be all played in one sitting? For info I’d intend using them at the roulette table.
  11. The pound fell but has risen again, even so it is only a small %age.
  12. We just booked the Everglades tour a week ago at £55/person, today it’s £77, that’s some rise in a week!
  13. We’re in the UK and were notified 2 weeks ago, we are also very happy that Bermuda was dropped as the $40 a head for nothing goes against the grain. When we booked the cruise the ports were a secondary consideration, been to them before and just want a great holiday.
  14. Thanks scokely I just booked using OBC and all was as you said it was.
  15. Hi, do you know how the system works re using OBC when pre cruise booking for restaurants or shore excursions or do these have to be made in cash? There doesn’t appear to be advice or options at the reservation stage.
  16. It was good for us though we only had a 55 minute turn around at Frankfurt and the gate was a mile away! First time at FCO was a bit daunting as we were dropped at the wrong terminal and we had to ask where Lufthansa check in desk was, it was in Terminal 1, we though were dropped at T2!
  17. We’re just back from doing that. All went smooth on arrival, collected baggage pretty quickly and straight through. On return again no problems, you should be fine with time to spare if you’re there 2 hours before your flight. It very much depends who you’re flying with and whether you have fast track.we were Lufthansa and our only delay was in the queue to check our bags in, about 20 minutes.
  18. Thanks again FOPMan, If we’re early and can drop off our luggage we may hop a cab there, love seeing the tarpon.
  19. Many thanks. If we arrive at Fll port early we’ll maybe just sit it out, an opportunity for a quick nap before we do it all again😎.
  20. We’re on Celebrity so possibly beyond walking distance.
  21. Thanks folks for the advice, all really helpful and much appreciated.
