  1. I don't think NCL care about adult comedy shows an such as long as you're with her. I certainly saw pretty young teenagers at comedy club on the Epic. Surely this is a parent's decision and adult areas such as bars & dance club is at parent's discretion as long as no alcohol is involved. Don't forget these ships aren't registered in the USA. And lots of passengers are from Europe where 16 year olds are allowed in pubs.

  2. These huge lists make me smile. I've done many 1 & 2 WEEK holidays with hand luggage only :) I hate lugging large bags around with me. I just pack 1 or 2 washing tablets. It's worth it to me to take 2 hours out to do laundry. I always pack empty flat shopping bags & travel size bathroom items. Sometimes I just bring my own conditioner and sunscreen and just whatever the hotel cruise line provides.

  3. Hi all,

My family all suffer from allergies. Dust/mold/pollen. Where we live you don't go to Dr's for allergies (v. expensive) just to local pharmacy to get antihistamines. Allergies give us cold like symptoms sneezing, runny nose & sometimes coughing. Have any of you heard of anyone being denied boarding due to allergy because they thought you have a cold/flu? We'll have our tablets and sprays with us.

    Thanks

  4. I was in an angled flat bed, it's at about a 30 deg angle. I didn't slip anywhere, they have a little flap thing that comes up at the bottom you rest your feet against. I would say to be sure to wear comfortable clothes. I made the mistake of wearing very stylish and tight jeans so I couldn't get comfortable and sleep . Next time i'm going to bring a change of clothes i can put on when I get on the plane:) Also if flying business class with mutiply lay overs:) be sure to use the arrivals lounge as depending on carriers you might not be able to use the departure lounge.

  5. Hi All,

We are heading out on the Jade in October in an internal cabin on deck 5. There will be 3 adults and a 2 y.o. I plan to have the top bunk as I don't use the bathroom during the night. Has anyone else done this? How do they arrange the sleeping situation? Any tips on how to manage the space?

    Thanks for any help

  6. I bought a $250 credit on my last cruise I'm using it on a Getaway cruise next feb. I couldn't see it on my cruise account/latitudes but when I told my TA that I had the credit she was able to go in to my latitudes account and she could see it. My original Invoice didn't show the credit but when I sent her a copy of the credit she sent me a revised invoice that does show the credit.

  7. Thanks Folks! I thought this would be the case. I know they have a guppies age group for 2 yo. I just think she will be too old for this group. We will just have to bring our own crafts to amuse her with & hope she meets some kids on deck for her to play with.

What is the kid area like on the Jade?

Also she is 3ft tall & growing (her dad is 6'4" :D) what is the height restriction on the slides do you know?

  8. Hi All

I will be travelling with my sister and 2 year old niece in October on NCL Jade. My niece will be 3 yo one week after cruise. She is tall for her age, potty trained and talks using full sentaces. She loves going to play school :-) if she sees the kidzone she will want to go in. Is there any leeway in letting her join the 3-5 yo kids club?

    Thanks

First time cruising with a child :-)

  9. Hi have the free 3G Kindle. I use it all the time when cruising. You don't have to buy the ships internet to use it. You just have to be close enough to land to pick up a mobile/cell signal. It will work in any port you are in without you having to do anything except to turn on the internet on your Kindle. I've used my Kindle all over the world US, Europe, Asia & Africa without any particular dificulty. Some places are slower than others. I've also used it in the Caribbean. I'm not sure what part of the world you are going to.

    I hope this helps.:D

  10. I also think destination is an important factor when deciding to get a Balcony or not. I chose a balcony room when we sailed the Norwegian Fjords as the reason we went there was for the views & the best view for us was from the Balcony. But when we sailed the Medeterranean we chose an inside cabin because we were in port everyday & I felt we wouldn't get much use from a Balcony as we would be in port each day. But in Feb 2014 we are going on the Epic and beacuse we will be at sea for 3/4 days I wanted to ensure we could sit outside without being crowded. Also my travelling companion doesn't know I have booked a balcony :D so it will be a surprise!

Another point is I really love RCC's promenade view internal cabins. I like sitting in the window seat and people watching below. I think i would chose this cabin always if i had that option.

PS how do I get those cruise ship count downs on my post? I've forgotten how it's done.
