We're thinking of booking an Explora Journeys cruise on Explora I for early 2024. Does anyone know what if any difference there is between Ocean Terrace Suite 1s (OT1s) and OT2s other than what deck they might be on? If I can figure out the shade of blue differences I see on various deck plan websites, it looks like there are OT1s on Deck 7 that don't look too bad. Was just curious if anyone knew the benefits of going from OT1 to OT2 (and for that matter going up to OT3 or OT4)? Thanks for any insights. Jeff

We're doing the Arctic voyage out of Longyearbyen on Atlas World Traveler from Aug 6-23, 2023 so I'll post something when we return. It looks like a pretty good itinerary with several days for expeditions in Svalbard as well as stops in Honningvag, Tromso, Hammerfest and the Lofoton Islands. We're spending a few days ahead of time and doing the Norway in a Nutshell tour out of Oslo. We love the small ship experience but have not been on a ship this small so we'll see. We've also never done an expedition ship so we're looking forward to that. We did Azamara Pursuit to Croatia last fall and loved it. We just did Seabourn Ovation to the Caribbean in April and liked it slightly better than Azamara and didn't think anyone could top it. But then we just did Regent Seven Seas Navigator this month and it slightly beat out Seabourn. I'm hoping Atlas brings their A game!

Thank you both for your responses. Given the relatively low cost of the taxi and the fact that we’ll be tired from cross country travel and have several suitcases, we’ll most likely do the taxi. And yes, we’re staying at the YWCA at 733 Beatty St. Thanks again. Jeff

We have a cruise out of Vancouver on Wednesday July 12th and will arrive at Vancouver airport on Tuesday July 11th. We'll be flying standby from the East Coast so we'll get in to the Vancouver airport at either 11:57 AM, 12:30 PM or 9:06 PM depending on which flight we get. We have hotel reservations at the YWCA for Tues July 12th. My questions are: 1. Given that we'll have several suitcases is it easier to just get a taxi from the airport right to the YWCA hotel and if so what is the cost for two people? 2. If we decide to take the Canada Line Metro, what station would we get off? And given our suitcases and possibly not getting there until late in the evening, would we be able to easily get a taxi from the metro station to the hotel and if so any idea what the cost would be? Or would it be an easy and safe walk? Thank you in advance for your help! Jeff

We are on the Montreal/NYC cruise on June 11th on Navigator leaving out of Montreal. We will be flying in to Montreal on June 10th and board the next day. Do we have to use the ArriveCan app for boarding or complete any special forms for flying in to Canada from the US? When we were on an Alaska cruise last Fall and stopped in Canada for one of the ports we had to do ArriveCan. Just curious if that's needed for this cruise? Thanks! Jeff

We're new to Regent and are on the June 11th Montreal/NYC cruise. Any feedback on the staff mentioned? Sounds like some are new. Is that a good thing?

Wesport - we are on that same cruise out of Barbados leaving on March 30th! Looking forward to meeting you. We're Jeff and Kathy from Charlotte, NC. This is our first time on Seabourn so we're curious what the experience is like. Just came off of a 22 day HAL cruise to Antarctica which was amazing. Actually, the ports more than the ship but we enjoyed the HAL Oosterdam. We really like Azamara and also have a Regent booked for this summer as well as looking at a Silversea for the Fall. We love cruising and wanted to compare some of the luxury lines. We too have not gotten our embarkation time so thanks for asking this question since we were wondering the same thing!

Thanks to all on this current cruise for all the great info. We will be on the Jan 11th sailing. Question though, how was the embarkation process? Did anyone go on earlier than their assigned time? They assigned us a 4 PM boarding time but we'd like to get on earlier and wondered how HAL handles that?

Was just curious if you or anyone else went on this excursion out of Hvar? We are on the Azamara Pursuit and will be in Hvar on Oct 15, 2022 and were looking at doing the shared/small group tour with Secret Hvar. It's a 7.5 hour tour around the island with a peeka lunch at a private home. It does look very interesting. Thanks for any input. Jeff
