  1. I tried to book with a PVP for my sister's cruise and it was a fiasco. She didn't understand anything. She was telling me the rooms I were looking at at that very moment weren't available. I mean all of them "had just been taken" even though they showed avail. She couldn't understand or see the military rate that I was seeing...I got so frustrated finally said "nevermind you're not helping me" and said bye. She said "is there anything else I can help you with" and I replied "well you didn't help me with this not sure how you are going to help me with anything else". I didn't say it meanly just to the point. I hung up and booked the two rooms. We had a question, that I can't remember now, that was about having 2 rooms otherwise I wouldn't even have called.

  2. This thread reminds me.

I brought my 5 year old son to work with me late last year for the day and we were getting in the elevator and he wanted to press the button and asked me, "Daddy, what deck do you work on?" completely straight faced.

I realized almost all of his elevator experience was from cruise ships…I was proud!

He kept slipping all day and calling it deck 3, my office was on deck 3…etc.

Don't you wish your office WERE on deck 3...haha that was cute.

  3. Wait, what do you mean another on the Liberty. We were on past Sept and will be on in May. I just remember one Mongolian Wok, but it had a line coming from either side.

Yes, I didn't remember seeing it in November but we were just there again in Feb and on the left side just past the ice cream machines they turned a window that looks like the deli window on the other side but it's now a mongolian wok.

Just clarifying, facing the doors going into the buffet it's on the side that has Guy's Burgers.

  4. We aren't balcony people. We've never had one and turned down a upsell offer. We like to be where everyone is at, chatting, watching, etc. We've also had a beach house since before I was born and still have it..so sitting outside and watching the ocean is no big deal.

  5. No, but if I did I'd go right up to them and introduce myself. I won't say anything on these boards that I won't say to someone's face, and it's mostly nice....but onceeee in awhile someone gets under my skin a little bit but I have no problem talking to them face to face, in fact I invited one that's up coming on my next cruise. So we'll see.

  6. Glad it won't be a problem for you now but I just wanted to add that my 15 or 14 can't remember yo nephew was moved up with no problem, wasn't even a issue. Requested by his mother. At 6', purple mohawk and piercings and size 13 shoe he wouldn't fit in with the 12 year olds..(don't judge...lol..he gets STRAIGHT A's and wants to be a LPN)

  7. I don't think there is reason to be loyal to one line or another. Go where you want to go with whom you want to do it. It's just the bashers of entire lines that annoy me.

If we find somewhere to go within our budget we'll just take whatever works for us. It's a little hard now when I get 100 obc for stock and 100obc for booking while on board...so it's a bit harder to switch..but it's not because we wouldn't consider it.

  8. I Know. Who would have ever thunk.

Himself retired last July, and we started a business on Amazon. It's been fun, but wild, and he really needed a break. Only no matter what I did he just kept working.

Took him to Cabo Pulmo for a week before the holidays. About as remote as it is possible to get and still be reasonably accessible.

He spent the whole week on line, over a miserable weak slow connection, at least 6 hours a day. I was strolling the beach, riding, scuba diving. He was working. Well, and napping of course ; -)

After the first of January we had a trip planned for business in LA, with meetings a week apart. It didn't make sense to come home and go back. So I went looking for a way to get him to unwind. AndI remembered that on the ship there had been no internet or phone. At least while we were at sea. And Carnival runs a short trip from LA with not much in the way of ports.

I figured I could stand a few days if it would get him to unwind. He was making me nuts ; -)

And then I was surprised to enjoy it. And he LOVED it. And it turns out he had always wanted to cross on the QE2. Who knew.

So I looked into it, and sail date lines up well with a trip we have planed to France and Italy, so it looks as if we will be on the 'Grand Dame' this August!

Seven days relaxing, and dancing and listening to music; James Taylor will be aboard. Himself loves blackjack. I always like afternoon tea. The shops look like they might even be worth a window shop one afternoon ; -) All as an entry into almost a month in Europe! Sounds pretty plush to me!!

To me it just sounds like on your previous cruise you just weren't going to where you wanted to (warm place) and you were determined not to have a good time before you went. Yeah that mindset will get you every time and being spoiled (not saying you are) makes a child stamp there feet and claim they hate something even before they try it. That's where you tell a child to give something a chance and not decide before they go how much they are going to hate something. I'm glad I'm not your parents who paid for your trip, I'd have much preferred you stay home than to have to stay drunk or under "chemical" help and be the one who actually paid for that. ....wondering if you paid for your parents to go on the warm trip with you?

Any adult can do anything for 1 week and find things they can do and enjoy and not have to be drunk or drugged to get through it, unless they have a mental issue.

We never cruised until I was in my late 40's because I didn't think I"d like it, but when I did I had an open mind and didn't "dread" it beforehand and never took a drink or a drug. Found out for real that we can be happy anywhere, but that is our frame of mind. I can't believe you hated it so much but then took another one. You could have booked a land vacation away from all the stress without it being a cruise. That's just incredible you hated something so much to stay drunk and drugged (because it was cold?) then you book another one...hmmm..interesting or is it because they weren't going exactly where you wanted to go? I absolutely HATE hot weather(live in the south) but where do we cruise? The Caribbean and I enjoy the heck out of it. I don't spend time in the sun, in the heat, at the beach but I make a good time...perhaps you could've done the same but then again they didn't go where you wanted them to go, so you weren't happy.

Personally I can't wait to take a Alaskan cruise but until we do I'm going to suffer with the heat and make the best of it without complaining and drinking or taking "chill pills" and go as often as I can. OH and we own a beach house and I hate the beach...but as I said happiness is a state of being. You made yourself unhappy beforehand, I am not surprised you hated it because it wasn't to a warm place....

  9. Oh, I guess it'd be helpful if I told you all that we'll be doing an all-day excursion from Cozumel to Tulum to see the Mayan ruins. Tulum worries me more than Cozumel. I'll pack lots of water bottles for this excursion!

On our tour of Tulum our guide had a cooler full of waters, soda's for free if you wanted them. He had Bilikin beer for 1.00. Experiencebelizetours.

There is a little snack bar thing at Tulum. You can get drinks there too. They sell plantain chips on our tour in commercially packed bags for 1.00. At Tulum there were selling some homemade stuff (vendors) for 2 or 3 dollars.

  10. First cruise we took I had it badddd then OH said let's book another cruise, after I couldn't stop talking about it so on second cruise, while we were on board we booked another cruise because I told him what a GREAT deal booking on board was and we get 100 OBC just for booking while on board. Worked out great, I wasn't as sad after that cruise knowing I'd be going again. So book another one, even if it's a ways out because you will enjoy reading and researching about it until then. It helps...OH informed me he doesn't want all our vacations to be cruises...WAH?????? I'm addicted and he tells me that?? What is wrong with him?

  11. Thanks for your review and I am glad you had a great time. We like WDW but I'll never go on a Disney Cruise (unless it's free) because we don't have kids and we do get tired of the family/kid "thing". So if it's free I"m going and gonna have a good time, if I have to pay forget it...rather be in the casino on other lines.

I have no doubt that Disney is top notch in decor, food and cast members and for a family or with kids would be awesome.

  12. Ours was 35.00 and it was good and the atmosphere is very nice but we find the steaks to be better at Logan's Roadhouse...sounds weird but true (Ribeyes). But if you have the extra $ you should at least do it once. I agree the desserts are really good and the onion soup also. I think you will be glad you did it but might be able to skip it another time. Haven't decided if we are doing it this upcoming trip, you see even though we like Logan's steaks better it's still nice. Oh yeah the fruit salad is gorgeous.
