  1. We used it in April when we sailed on LOS. I am not sure how it is on Carnival. We will find out next April.

It worked great for us. You just pull up in front of the terminal and you can ask the guard to direct you to the person who does the valet parking. The stands are right in front of the terminal and the men who take your luggage come to your car and get your checked luggage.

We thought it was great and very convenient.

  2. I was thinking about booking Valet parking for our June 25th cruise. Did you find it convenient and easy to use?

Yes, it was very easy. We just pulled up in front of the terminal and they come over and take care of everything. When you come out after returning you walk across the "street" and show them your ticket. They already have the cars parked close so they just go get it. They suggest that you take a picture of your ticket with your phone in case you lose the ticket.

We plan to use it again next April. It is so convenient especially if you have mobility issues or have a scooter/wheelchair.

  3. The last 2 years in April, we have stayed at Days Inn & Suites. It is a fairly new place but it is not close to the main attractions on Seawall. Their prices are reasonable and we like it there. We also have it booked for next year.

Good luck and have a great cruise!

  4. Cruise agent here & been on both- as others have said, no comparison between an 83,000 ton ship & 154,000+ ton ship..no "wow" factor on the Enchantment..when you walk into the Royal Promenade on the IOS, you will be impressed ( I was blown away)..balconies are the best option on a cruise for enjoyment & relaxation..read my thread on "cabin selection tips" section called "5 reasons to book a balcony", you will see and read from others, that a balcony completely changes your cruise experience..completely..you go from no connection to the sea, to a world of sensations & awe, none which you can get in an outside window or inside cabin...also the biggest differences between the Grand Suites & the Owner's or Royal Suites is the balcony- Grande Suite balcony is 107 SF, Owner's Suite is 204 SF, Royal Suite is 270 SF..that's a BIG difference.. also, as far as Chops..1) you should try it..great time, food, etc..and 2) If you go the first night, there is often a 20% discount on your bill..side dishes are to die for..and BTW, $39 is nothing when you consider it's a 5 course meal, pretty much all you can eat, and you can get a table by the window over- looking the sea with quiet music & low lighting, unlike the MDR, which is loud, bright & food (IMO) is often so so..a steakhouse like Ruth Chris or Morton's for a similar meal would be $75-100 AND never all you eat..just an FYI & IMHO..we go every time and have never been disappointed...BTW, Giovanni's ( Italian) is also a nice meal at $25 PP..not quite as nice & elegant, more family style ( also 20% off 1st night), but maybe a good choice for a family meal..we had meal on the Oasis in Chops for my wife's 60th b'day last year for 8 of us, and I thought it was terrific..

You didn't mention how old the youngest members are, so in case they are grammar school age, there is a FANTASTIC pool area called the H20 Fun Zone just for kids ( not on the EOS)..for teens there are teen clubs, video arcade rooms , and very important & popular: the FLOWRIDER simulated surf pool..kids love it..also a biggie: the ice skating shows are wonderful for a family to see ( also not on the EOS)..don't miss ( free)..the 70's retro disco party in the Royal Promenade is a blast with the crew members dressed up as the Village People singing "In The Navy" and music by the BeeGees, Abba, Saturday Night Fever, etc..lots of fun ( at night around 10:30 in the RP)...I love the canti-levered hot tubs in the Adult Solarium pool area ( deck 11) that stick out 12 ft over the side & give you AWESOME views of the sea( go on a sea day is best!)..and in Johnny Rockets ( deck 12 aft) the waiters dance to "Respect" or "Stayin Alive"..get a table OUTSIDE by the water..lots of fun..BTW, Johnny Rockets has a great FREE breakfast..we did it on the Oasis..very good! We also prefer the MDR for breakfast, also, order breakfast one morning on a SEA day to your cabin- breakfast out there is marvelous on a beautiful morning at sea on your balcony ( and if you get the Royal or Owner's cabin, you can invite others because there will be plenty of space, lol)..when I think about more, it's a no brainer when you compare these 2 ships for a family cruise with children..go with the Indy..any questions, let me know- I have done 3 Freedom Class cruises, know them well...

I know this is an older thread but I have a question about the Enchantment of the Seas. Do you know if the Royal Suite has 2 bathrooms? Thank you!

  5. Thanks for your input as I did book it tonight. It was a really good rate I got compared to some of the others I priced out. I assume there is no shuttle to the ship? How much was a cab? We are on Liberty of the Seas. We are also sailing next April on the 8th.

We sail the 15th on the Breeze. We were on the LOS the last 2 years. I am not sure about the shuttle and don't know how much the cab would be.

  6. We have stayed there twice and plan to stay there again next April. We like it and it is much less than most of the other hotel/motels. There is a little strip mall about a block away that has a little place to eat but most everything is further away. We normally book as soon as they open reservations to get the best rate. Hope you have a great cruise.

  7. I'm not sure which cruise line you are looking at but we were just on RCCL LOS in April and we had a GS. It was not an accessible room which is usually what we get. The door of the suite was wide enough for me to go through it in my electric wheelchair. The suite was a little small to maneuver around much in the wheelchair but we managed. I don't think a GS would be enough room for a lot of equipment and everything else needed in your circumstances. The accessible cabins are hard to get unless you book really far out but if you can get one, I would suggest that and maybe an inside room near for plenty of room for all 4 of you. Hope it gets worked out and you all have a great time.

  8. Ship - Liberty of the Seas

    Deck - 10

    Stateroom # 1248

    Stateroom Category - Suite

    Starboardt Side

    Quiet Stateroom - Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom ? - No

Balcony size? Large It had 2 regular chairs and 2 lounge chairs

    Was wind a problem? No

Any specific problem with this cabin ? No

Any other comments? It was a very nice cabin. It seemed smaller than it looked in pictures. However I was using a wheelchair so that made it a little cramped.

  9. Thanks for all the tips!! Sounds like I am going to have to refresh a lot!

Are you on your cruises roll call? Sometimes someone on there will catch it and post faster than you see it. Good luck! Hope you are able to get it soon.

  10. There was a question asked some time back about using self-assist if you were using a wheelchair or scooter.

Last year when we went on Liberty of the Seas, they specifically stated that anyone in a wheelchair or using a scooter could not use self-assist. However we just got off the LOS and they have changed the process. You are now allowed to use a wheelchair (if you have someone to push you) or a scooter if you can handle your own luggage or have someone with you who can. I think that is great!

  12. I was looking at buying one of these folding wheelchairs myself and these look to be two of the better ones. I like that the EZ Cruiser has a reclining back rest and you can get adjustable foot rests too (I really need to elevate my legs when possible) but I hate that they put the battery underneath so I don't have that easy to access space available for stuff. Of course, they claim that their battery design is better, but ironically the AirHawk claims to get up to 25 miles I believe if you get the dual batteries which is quite impressive for a folding chair. Any feedback on these after having them for awhile now?

They came out with the reclining back one right after I got mine. I still like mine very much. Whenever I have messaged the company with a question they are always quick to respond. So if you have any questions, I am sure they will help you.

  13. Do you know the name?

It is ABM Cruise Parking. It is kind of hard to find info on it. They said on their Facebook page that they are not taking reservations at this time. It is just drive up. Here is what is on their page.

"PORT OF GALVESTON We're not currently accepting reservations for the garage parking but will add that to our website shortly. We'll post an update when we do. Right now garage parking is drive-up. There are plenty of spots, however, so parking there without a reservation will not be a problem."

If you know where VIP and Park N Cruise is, it is right across 25th St. from them on the corner at the red light.

    I hope this helps.
