Hi we are in Boston on a Tuesday in October. I think we will do the old town trolley tour (comes with a 45 min cruise or Boston harbor) and the freedom trail walk on our own. What would you suggest we do first ? Is this a good plan to see a little of everything? Also what restaurant for lunch nothing fancy but great local place. Not sure what Boston is known for. Thx :)

We cruise Celebrity often but when we take our kids, in the past and now, in their 20’s we only go on Royal Carribean. They would be so bored on Celebrity.

A couple of months ago I started watching the August 18 seven day Caribbean cruise on the Equinox. The price was $799 for a balcony guarantee and the first perk was $50. A couple weeks later it showed up on the x-citing deals list at exactly the same price. A couple of weeks later, on the same list it was $749 but now the perk is $100. Last week it showed up at $699 and guess what the perk is, yes you guessed it $150. To top it off, I just checked and it's down to $649 with, don't peek now, $200 for the first perk. The cool part is if you want to pick your own cabin, that's not unobstructed, the cabin price goes up as does the first perk price. I'd like to hear the logic for this. Probably because the cruises have turned into booze cruises as it seems the drinks seem to be the most discussed topics. The u.k. website showed 160+ balconys still available so they better hope for a lot of Florida residents or people that can drive there as last minute air is cruise price high. I would have been a buyer at $749 with the $50 perk (the $300 obc), now I would be a buyer at $600 with no perks. Not planning on it though. Will probably have to wait for MSC Seaside in September and the Allure in October.
What is the uk website that shows all available rooms ? Thx

Getting off in Cork sounds like the only non stressful option. The flight that day you cruise is so risky. You do have to pay the cruiseline for the option to leave early and get approved.

Hi I’m looking for recommendations for where to book tickets for a balcony or stadium seating for 1 of our 3 days in port. I have a very bad back so being able to sit occasionally would be huge as would bathrooms and maybe an open bar. Where are the best locations and places ? I know this will cost a couple hundred a person and that’s ok. Thanks :)

They will only truly appreciate it if you fill it with cash. They will pretend to appreciate anything

We were told after we pulled out of port. They don't tell you ahead of time. Unfortunately for us this was a huge downgrade in our trip. Always hoped if it happened again it would be a better not worse port change.

I was not able to get patron. I had to ask for the Jose Cuervo or they would give me house tequila. However my husband was able to get crown most of the time and it wasn't on the classic either. Maybe he was more charming :)

We average 8 weeks per year usually 2 + weeks at a time. We go almost always based on where the best deals are with most of the cruises booked after final payment. To do this we are fairly frugal at home. I can't remember the last time we ate a meal out or went to the movies. We prefer to brown bag it and save for vacations. Of course family and friends think we go to often.

For us just the breakfast and lunch in a small quiet space.

For us the change of lounges for diamond plus on Oasis class was a big loss. My husband doesn't like large groups of people and we had amazing quiet nice breakfast and lunch in the old concierge club. This made this ship enjoyable for him. If I booked above a junior suite it would greatly reduce how often we could cruise. No matter how they spin it this was a huge loss of benefits.

Does diamond plus on allure and oasis need reservations for shows ? I know they do for comedy club. Just not sure if the reserved section for shows is once you get in with reservations or don't need one thx

Their mattresses are too hard for our bad backs. We were on for 3 cruises in a row so I bought a cheap topper on Amazon and stuck a luggage tag on it. Totally worth the $40. We were able to drive to the port and then just give it to our room attendant and fly home.

Hi does anyone have recent copies of the menus? We are on a Eastern itinerary if that matters. Also did you think the food was a lot better than main dining room ? Can you get something from the main dining room like on lobster night ? Thanks everyone:)

How would you reach the concierge in advance ? I was wondering the same thing about an upcoming Oasis cruise.

The best way to see the highlights in one day without exhausting ourselves :) I like the idea of a harbor tour and then walking most of the day or maybe trolley. Not sure how best to do this. Looks like freedom trail can be done on your own.
