  1. We are doing an RCI back to back next year. I was told you can take 2 bottles each. As an aside, you can also buy wine/liquor on board on the last day of the first week. They don't put it away that day, so you can keep even more for week 2.

Thank you so much for that very informative answer that sounds like a plan leaving in 18 hours so have to hit the store before it closes thanks again have a good cruise yourselves. Keith

  2. to Lesliekurz

your reply was right on, smart, logical and quite correct. we have seen first hand on our cruises the attention paid to keeping these wonderful ships clean. yes there will be times when boarding is delayed, but it is worth the wait. will be cruising a b2b on Dec.2 on the beautiful Anthem and not at all concerned. you will notice us because we will be totally wrapped in clear wrap and a Tyvex suit and oxygen mask, and beads. see you guys on board. cough cough wheeze wheeze

  3. Generally no. You will actually be Diamond+ after that cruise. However, it doesn't hurt to push the issue. Remember "the squeaky wheel gets the grease".

Thank you. I will slip on over to the Loyalty Ambassador and see what we can do. Thanks again. Keith.

  4. Hello everyone. We will be doing a B2B in Dec. During the first leg we will reach D+ like on the 3rd or 4th day of our 12 nighter. Will they honor/recognize this for our second leg,8 night? Any input of course is greatly appreciated . Thank you. Watson50 (Keith)

  5. I will jump back in here and say, it was not my intention to open another formal/not formal clothing thread - not least because I am fully aware that the majority of cruisers may not share the same dress code descriptions as others

I merely wanted to mention how the standard of dress has dropped on RCI out of the US since we last regularly cruised with them

It is the only vacation style that has a dress suggestion, and it is one that was mostly adhered to. Perhaps it is the Americanisation of cruising. Perhaps it is the theme park style cruise ships. I don't know, but...

...Someone has already alluded to it, but the end result of all of this will be - people will no longer recall days when it was full lobster rather than lobster tails, but when it was lobster tails and now it is a tiny shrimp. Waiters will be wearing shorts in the main dining room and you will be getting burgers

    what's wrong with burgers?:p

  6. Don't cheat yourself out of the MDR on the formal nights. The dress is just a suggestion, and while many do follow it, many do not. The hostess does not care what you are wearing and won't deny you entry based on your clothing, and if other guests have an issue with what you wear, that is their problem, not yours.

Hello there. We were on the Anthem for the Nov. 27 2016 cruise This was the date that they went back to traditional dining, thank you Royal. Don't have to pack extra clothes for formal nights. Plus when going into the Grande on non formal nights, even when smartly casually dressed they would hand you this off the rack jacket. Who knows what was in it. It was great dining in a wonderful atmosphere without hassle. Will be on Anthem again for a b2b in Dec. no suits, no jackets, less to pack, got to love it. And by the way, the food in the MDR's on Anthem is outstanding. Even on "formal nights". So don't lose out. Go for it :)

  7. Regarding flowers on board. Just go to the Royals website and look at Royal gifts they have a nice selection of flowers for you to purchase with your credit card and they will be in your room on the first day have done it before and it works and they have a good selection

  8. One less thing to pack. ;)

LOVE TO DECORATE OUR DOOR  :D ;)

wife and I were just talking about this today. we have cruised before and have a b2b coming up in dec. so the door gets tropical and Christmas and most importantly, my wife's 60th birthday, so we will have a very loaded door, and probably a very loaded cruise. and the door stuff doesn't take up much space (:rolleyes:laugh laugh wink wink ) we also leave post-it notes on the desk to say good day to our cabin steward and they appreciate that. we all know how hard these dedicated people work. so decorate away, just leave the hammer and nails home. watson50- Keith.

  9. hello all. so great to see the Summit do a SOL sail-by. having sailed on her 6 times, as recently as June 18th, it was really cool to see it turn up river. the live web cam feed was excellent. seeing the Breakaway in the back-round while the Summit was spinning was cool. wish it was us .Bwwwaaa. got cruise fever. can't wait for Dec. got two booked on Royal. live to cruise/cruise to live. love the Summit.:loudcry::cool::) until next year Bermuda. 10. to kmeeker. sorry to hear things didn't go well for you at GS.we cruised 3 wks ago for Americas cup. I agree with Inuzzo that it was a great cruise with outstanding service. We had 1 issue with GS concerning our beverage package(waste of money) we were double charged for our drinks in the beginning. The gentleman at the desk, very proper and polite assured me he would take care of it. when I got back to my cabin all the corrections were on my TV account. We were very pleased. We have cruised the X many times and continue to do so. I do hope you give them a second shot, they truly are worth it. The best part about this is that you posted on Cruise Critic. Celebrity DOES read these posts. I wish for you that your future cruises have no minor glitches to them.

  11. Last I heard we were still meeting at the Sunset Bar, shortly after the Muster Drill, sometime during sail away.

I'll be a little later as I like to watch us going by the Statue and under the bridge from my own Balcony. See you soon!

Thanks Armadillo. It will be good to meet you and the rest of our new group, Sunset Bar is our favorite hang place so this works well. Wonder if Dewa and crew are still there? Was fortunate to be entertained and taken care of by them. We'll see. Here's to great seas and greater smiles :D:)

  12. Hello everybody. I have two questions concerning our June 18th cruise. #1 can we still bring water on board at check in with luggage tags? and question #2.where do the Bead wearing/ cruise connections/meet and mingle group meet during sail away. Very curious. We heard it was at the Sunset Bar (Ocean View). Is this correct? This is our 6th time on the Summit but first time wearing beads. I know the CC gang can help us out. Thank you,Watson50, (Keith and Carol):D

  13. Hello everyone. One thing we have always done is late traditional seating at 8:30 PM. But right before or after lifeboat drill I always go to the maître d' and confirm our table for two for the entire time we are cruising. It has always worked out very well for us. Should give it a try.Do the walk-through with the maître d' before sail away and it usually works 99% of the time good luck and safe cruising .

  14. Hi grandma nurse this is Watson 50 dynamic dynamic dining was good for a lot of people because of the four distinct and truly different style restaurants. We really had no problem with it but we didn't care for the rotation every night. We thought the food was pretty good but we are traditionalists we prefer late seating table for two. We always did have the same wait staff who were wonderful but people in the majority it seems didn't care for dynamic dining. I guess they were more main dining room and my time dining fans out there than Royal anticipated. When they did switch over we were on that cruise and it was a very pleasant surprise to hear the wait staff actually sounded relieved. We all kind of thought they didn't like rotating either. The menu changed to the same thing in every different style restaurant of the four that they offered for dynamic dining. So we're just kind of standardized the Royal Caribbean dining experience. I guess they considered it a flop. We have cruised royal many times before and dynamic dining just didn't do it for us. Happy Steph happy passengers that seem to be the theme upon the switch. I hope this helped. Bye for now Watson 50.

  15. We were on the November 27 cruise when dynamic dining switch to traditional and it was so smooth seamless we always had the same staff same table we prefer a table for two 830 seating and everybody seem to be very relieved that dynamic dining was no longer. We have anthem booked for a back to back starting December 2 and we can't wait . we have seen improvements from our first and second anthem cruise. We are loyal to royal and cruise number three and four should be just as good as anthem cruise number one and two. We are diamond and will be diamond plus on our second leg of our B to B. Any time we have had any issues that required staff attention was always handled courteously, professionally, and respect fully. But I do agree they need more staff. Good seas and good cruising to everybody

  16. quote=Oceansaway17;53111259]Hi everyone. I have done the Anthem twice now and love the ship. She is underrated in my opinion.

I was on her in April 2016 as well as Sept 2016 to New England. I also was on the much ballyhooed Harmony on the first cruise full 7 days out of Ft Lauderdale. Let me say that a lot went wrong with all the technical systems. About 50% of the passengers had all their reservations wiped out. The Dining room was a mess the first 2 days and folks ended up in the Windjammer. I think the initial Storm the Anthem was in as well as complainers of the Dynamic Dining and then the cancelling of Northstar going over the side has stuck in folks memory. But a lot of folks on the Harmony were disappointed. I would take Anthem over Oasis any time. The Seaplex is wonderful to view the ocean and listen to music. I wish the next Quantum would come to NJ with different shows than Anthem. Also most folks like the Allure better than Harmony.

I have been following along with post about the Anthem of the Seas. Our first one back in 2015 when it first got here, 2nd one after TA, was a total dissapointment. After being spoiled by the Explorer of the Seas we thought we would check out AOTS. We thought that at the time it was just adjusting. Very rude passengers and a crew that had a real give a you know what attitude. Now on to our second AOTS . We happened to be the first cruise where dynamic dining was no longer being offered. We are traditional fans anyway, but the transition was smooth and the staff seemed to be relieved. The Anthem worked out numerous bugs. Sure we miss the Explorer of the Seas big time but that is not stopping us at all from taking our 3rd and 4th, first b2b back on the Anthem on Dec. 2nd. We like the Anthem very much and can't wait. I have a question though. Why doesn't North Star swing out to the sides of the ship anymore? Will keep following. Great cruising and seas to everyone. Watson50:)
