Always found it to be on the cool side.

I don't think I've ever got an email offering a discount on board, and this weekend will be our 5th HA cruise.
-
We've been there 4 times and will be again in another week. You can rent a "clam shell" which will give you shade, but do before you get there or you may not get. There are hundreds of loungers lined up on the beautiful beach. It's a short walk from where the tender lets you off. It's a perfect beach day, and the buffet lunch that the cruise line puts on is more than satisfactory. You'll enjoy yourself if you are a beach person.

We stayed there for a week about 5 years ago. We had an ocean view room, and It was lovely, and not crowded when we were there. We sat at the same beach hut every day. I do remember seeing people from cruise ships come over and I think they had a buffet for lunch for them in the dining room that wasn't open to the regular guests at that time. The beach isn't that big, but the pool area is really nice.

We were on an HA ship last Super Bowl and there was a special set up in the theatre area, with popcorn, finger foods, etc.
-
We were near the elevators last November, and were worried about it, but we loved the location and would definitely take again. Enjoy your cruise!

Would family style happen to mean they'll bring platters and bowls of food to the table, for people to eat like they were at home? Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies. We were in a Signature suite before, but prefer Neptune. It's the 6th floor on the Nieuw Amsterdam, mid ship, so I guess we'll be just fine. Still hoping for an upsell though!
-
We booked a guaranteed Signature Suite (great special offer), and yesterday got our cabin. I know they have different (SY, SZ, SS) ones. Looks like they gave us a SS. I can't find what the difference is. We're very happy with the location, as it's mid-ship, but I wondered what is the difference. Is it just location?

You won't be out of place getting all dolled up. We normally have dressed up "fancy" (tux for husband, something long for me, but not formal style), and others have done the same. The cruise we'll be on in a couple of weeks, we plan on dressing, but not as fancy. Suit and tie for hubby and dress for me. We just don't want the hassle of extra formal clothes this time, but we don't wish to be in jeans either.

We'll be on our 5th Caribbean HA cruise in a few weeks. On Gala Nights, we've found it ranges from very formal (hubby has taken his tux, but isn't going to this year), to nicer type clothes. It's definitely a wide range. I just don't agree with wearing jeans, nice or not, to a dining room for dinner, early seating or not. Go to the buffet if you're wearing jeans. I can't remember seeing jeans.
On our first cruise (on another cruise line), many years ago, the flight was late and we literally just ran on to the ship before it took off. We had been up since 3 am and were dead tired, and starving. We waited for our luggage in our room, and couldn't wait any longer. We washed our faces, and went to the dining room, where we explained about the luggage. It was the only place to eat on this ship, so it was go there or starve. We were let in of course, but we did get some not so friendly looks from people. This was about 30 years ago. Times have changed.

I'm sure that when we ate at Rudi's, wine wasn't included. We paid separate.
-
I'm in Canada, and get all the time, both email and flyers/brochures in the mail.
-
We have eaten in the Pinnacle and in Rudi's Sel de Mer. Both excellent meals. Haven't tried the others. If you love a good hamburg, you must have one from the burger place near the pool.
-
Neptune Suite is really lovely, and the access to the Neptune lounge is great. The Signature Suite is a little smaller, but still lots of room, but nothing special is offered with it.
-
We've been on the Nieuw Amsterdam 3 times, and will be again this November. I love this ship. Hope you do too.
-
We'll be in a Signature on the NA in about 6 weeks. Hoping for a Neptune upsell though, as we LOVE Neptune suites.
-
We have been on the NA 3 times and will be again in 6 weeks. We don't drink enough to purchase a beverage package, so for us, it seems very expensive. We just order a drink or wine when we want it and works out fine for us.
We love the NA. We find it just the right size for us. I don't think I'd like a huge cruise ship. We've stayed in a Signature, a Neptune and a balcony and this trip will be a Signature again.
Enjoy your cruise. I'm sure you'll love it.

You can't miss it. Right on the beach. We rented them last November, but they only have a limited amount to rent out.
-
Same here. I tried a few hours ago. It's really getting ridiculous.
-
Towels are provided. We were there last Nov. I’ve read that there is construction beside this hotel. Keep in mind the beach there is very small. The food there was very good though.
-
We ate at Sel de Mer last year on the NA, and it was fine. I don't eat fish, so had the steak, but my husband said what he had was good. We've also eaten in the Pinnacle, and for me, I'd choose the Pinnacle again.

I wasn't able to print off my docs yesterday and had to call HA. The first guy couldn't help me, so he transferred me to someone else. We finally did get them printed off, but both HA representatives said something about problems with their system the day before. This is our 5th HA cruise and I've never had problems before printing docs. It's so annoying.

I just booked the Melia day pass last week for Nov. 12 and it was the lower price. They must have just changed to an all inclusive.
How does room guarantee work?

We will be on the Nieuw Amsterdam this Sunday and booked a guaranteed Signature Suite. Last week we got our cabin number and it is an SS category, mid ship, so we are very happy.
