We have seen waiters on the beach at Half Moon Cay.
-
We always buy this and the odd time we've been given a can, but normally fountain poured.

I'm in Canada, and have been offered upgrades before, and taken advantage of them. Not just for US.
-
I should add it was a casino offer we are using, not the posted casino rate.
-
We took advantage of a casino rate last November, and we're doing so again this November. The November 2018 cruise is supposed to include $100 credit in the casino. I plan on taking my letter with me, as I expect it won't be on my account. Anyone had experience with this sort of thing?

We've had a Neptune a few times, and a Signature once, and will have again in November. Depending on your budget, you do get perks with a Neptune, and the suite is bigger. We LOVE the Neptune, but being two retired people, budget has to come into play. We love to indulge, but for us, it has to be within what we want, or can, afford to pay on that cruise. If you can do it, go for it, or wait to see if you get a lower offer. You very well may.

We will be there also, in mid-November. We were there last November, and it was very hot and sunny. The only time we were cool was in January/February in Half Moon Cay. (I also say I'm packing light!)
-
Definitely Grand Cayman. We weren't able to tender in the day our HA ship was to dock, as Captain said it was too rough. Didn't look it to me, but I'm not the Captain. Disappointing, but we enjoyed an extra sea day.

We've been in a Signature before and will be again in November, and we didn't get priority boarding. Only when we've been in a Neptune.
-
Tell them not to pay for chairs and an umbrella at Grand Turk on the beach. We were stupid enough to be taken for $ by having someone take us to front row chairs. It's free but some locals put chairs there and charge.

I think we were there in the fall. What we found loud was the constant games, etc that the staff were encouraging guests to join in on. We just prefer quieter places. The food was good and the place was nice.

We spent a week there once, and found it VERY loud and a younger, party crowd. I don't remember there being a problem getting shade, as my husband likes the shade. The week we were there it was very windy on the beach and they have umbrellas that they'll put up for you, but it was too windy for them.

We booked for two months away too (Nov 11 on the NA), at a special casino rate offer. We took the Signature suite, so I'm not too worried about the location. Hoping for an upsell though to a Neptune. Love me the Neptune!

I 100% agree about BB Kings being too loud. Every time we've gone in there, we've quickly left because of the volume. Last time there were only a handful of people, and I'm assuming it was because of the volume. My husband is a trumpet player for over 50 years and it drives him crazy. Louder doesn't make it better. These are good musicians and it's a shame they have to play so loud.

We did it last November and it was very quiet. The pool is lovely, the beach is very small, but adequate. The food was very good. There was a $40 credit (I think it was per person). Service comes right to your beach chair. If you want a close, nice relaxing place, you can't go wrong. If you're looking for a long beach to walk on, this isn't it.

You will love it!

I was having that problem for days, but now I can see other choices.

We were there last November (and will be this November). There were umbrellas and chairs to rent, but they only have so many and it's first come first served. We were able to get both, but it was just by luck. Someone was returning theirs just as we were told they were out. You do have to give a deposit, which is returned, minus the rental cost. They were brand new.

The day we were to go to Grand Cayman, the Captain said it was too rough for the tenders, so we never got to this port. Disappointing as it's one island we've never been to.

Our 7 day Eastern C. cruise for November isn't showing today. Would that mean it is sold out?

Absolutely do the Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. We did this one a few years ago, but we know Aruba and Curacao very well from vacationing there countless times. Easy to get around, out of the hurricane belt, lovely people. On Aruba, go to Palm Beach (you can take a bus or taxi), in Curacao, take a taxi to Blue Bay, and in Bonaire, you can get off the boat and walk around. We never did do a beach in Bonaire, as my husband went diving in the morning, so I stayed on ship till he came back and we didn't have time to do a beach. We had a wonderful lunch right on the water. DO IT!!!! I'm jealous!

Good deal! We've been in a Neptune a couple of times, and love it.

Haven't been to Coki Beach, but Meagan's Bay was lovely. You have to pay to rent the chairs and umbrellas, but it was clean, wonderful sand, beautiful water, friendly staff and the food we bought wasn't bad at all. We plan on going back this Nov when our ship goes there.

Why not get off at both? I'm missing something. You can walk around Nassau very easily. The ship lets you off right in town. Lots to see, if you don't want to spend money at a resort.
Celebrity cruisers retry HAL after 12 years
in Holland America Line

Thanks for the comparison. We have never sailed on Celebrity, but will probably one day. I found this especially interesting, as we have friends who sail frequently and love Celebrity. A few years back, they sailed on HA for the first time. I believe it was for 14+ days. They hated HA. They said they would never sail again with them, even if free. I said I just don't understand. We love HA and have never had any type of complaint that wasn't very minor. Their complaints covered everything you can think of, from dirty cabins, to unfriendly staff, to the food, to everything in between. I told them that this is definitely not our experience. It's good to read from someone who is comparing both lines.
