  1. Don't know if you have already been, but if you haven't and even if you have, may help others.

    Taxis:

1, there are standard car taxis, so like your normal every day car, and getting in and out of these is as difficult as you would find a regular car

2, as stated above they do multi-pax 'van' style taxis, which can accommodate wheelchair passengers if these are easier, although they are slightly harder to come by

    Buses:

Dublin bus - these busses have a feature that lets the driver lower the suspension to make it easier to get in. It also has a ramp system for wheelchair passengers. Things to note, there is often only one wheelchair space per bus, and it could already be occupied by a buggy. Now depending on the age of the baby - toddler versus new baby - the driver is supposed to ask the parent to fold the buggy and take a seat so the wheelchair can board, but this can be hit and miss with some drivers. Also to note, there are not a huge amount of downstairs seats. Dublin bus is a double decker system, and a lot of the seating is up some tricky stairs, and if you are last to board the driver WILL start driving off before you have taken your seat.

    Tram:

There shouldn't be boarding problems here as the platform is generally flush with the entrance to the tram. There are no specific wheelchair spaces on these however.

    Train:

I would give these a miss if I were you. In a LOT of cases there can be quite the gap between the platform and the train, and also the train can be considerably higher than the platform. Also the three other modes of transport above will take you to much more of the central sights than the train/DART. You'd only really need this if you were going out of Dublin City such as to Howth or the likes.

Hope this helps. Anymore questions feel free to ask :)

  2. Yes, they have hair dryers. Yes, they work.

Yes, your stateroom host will replace towels.

No decorations are permitted on the outside of the door. I forget, but believe the interior portion of the door is metal.

Regarding the no decorations are permitted on the outside of the door thing. I've seen videos and pictures of several staterooms with decorations on the outside of the door. Wonder did they just put them up for the video or maybe not find out about this until later?

Le Boo!!! :( I hope they DO allow door decs for my Christmas cruise next year

  3. I am just hoping that the dinner menu is more "Americanized" than the one that was previously post by Bea from her Meraviglia cruise. Too many funky fish dishes for my palate and my fiance would be shut out since she eats zero seafood. I prefer King crab, lobster, shrimp and Ahi tuna.

Personally I hope they don't 'Americanize' the menu at the expense of the European style they have now, which is a massive draw for me to MSC.

I'd be quite happy if they 'enhance' the menu (as in add without taking away) with some Americanized dishes, but not to remove the European ones

  4. HD ... I appreciate what you are saying but it does look like many cabins are not what they appeared to have promised or should I say that they Failed to correct the renderings giving people false hope.

This is a very fair point. It seems that since the ship has launched and we are getting a look that they have changed a LOT about the cabins from renderings and info, which would explain why they were so reluctant to give us information on them.

  5. If you can convince him to turn the Khaki shorts into Khaki long pants I'd say you'll be more than flying!!!! You can look smart and presentable without being in a suit or the likes. It's his vacation too after all :) and if you are too busy worrying about what someone else is wearing in the MDR you are not enjoying your vacation so why did you even bother!!!

    Enjoy your trip.

  6. ...if you like multiple shades of brown.:D

I'M NOT COMPLAINING...but maybe there are some contrasting colors worked into the fabrics that aren't visible from the videos/photos. The lighting will also help when seeing the stateroom in person. Plus, the artwork isn't there, yet.

I'll be happy no matter what. For those in the "purple" staterooms.....IDK.

I actually LOVE the look of the 'purple' staterooms!! But I LOVE purple!!

TravelinGert ... sorry cannot help you with this one.

    Fostello ...

Tngaloha ... Hope the sailing goes well for you guys, Enjoy.

Sadly some people have the patience of a gnat ... :o

:oWhat has a poor gnat ever done to you to be lumped in with that complainy so-and-so??? Poor gnat!!!! :');p

I was watching the ceremony on the Fincanteri insta page this morning. Poor buggers got drowned by the rain :/

  7. Bea there are some great offers on Seaside Caribbean next Winter. I ended up booking YC interior suite as it was better value than me booking Fantastica and getting the drinks package on top. I think at the moment interior and balcony are the same price...

I absolutely cannot wait, I don't know how I'm going to handle a year of looking at images and videos of Seaside as they emerge over the next months...!

This is what I did. When I saw the price of the YC inside relative to the Fantastica etc it was a no brainer for me!! Christmas and New Year 2018/19 in the YC on Seaside here I come.

  8. I work lates, so am in no way an early bird. But I think for me it's a bit of 'I saved damn hard to pay for this vacation and I am going to get every minute out of it I can'. And also, if I wanted to sleep in I could do it at home and save a fortune. But that's just me!

  9. Just took granddaughter to Disneyland (the real one in SoCal). Passed on staying at the Grand Californian (Disney) Hotel at $600+/night (standard room at their top lodging). Hilton and Marriott a short walk away? Only approx $250/night.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Nice catch :)

  10. I was going to say that! Disney = expensive because it's Disney!!! Everything Disney is expensive. It is a premium (in some people's eyes!) product that is popular precicely because of what it is and what it offers.

To be honest I love Disney, but as I don't have children I don't think I'd sail on them, even though it's supposed to be a brilliant cruise line. I mean I don't mind kids that much, and expect them when I go to Disney, but I can get away from them when I want. On a Disney cruise, I'd expect there to be far more kids than on other lines, and I can't escape them as easily if I need to, so unless the point comes where I have children, I don't think the Disney line is for me.

I think that price for the Canada cruise on Crystal is great, I'd go for it.

  11. Apologies to the OP for continuing the derailment!!

Bea, two questions. (crud I can't remember what question two was - off back up the thread to figure it out!! - I remember!!)

1, Gala/Elegant night attire for myself in YC please? Suggestions. Thanks

2, Are all tables in YC 2 top, or do they offer larger top dining to dine with folk if you are interested?

    Thankies :)

  12. The question was "If you are in the YC can you still go to the buffet in the MDR for lunch", CGTN. Apparently this set-up doesn't exist on Divina but it's on most other MSC ships.

However, I accept that it needed pointing out that there is a dedicated buffet separate to the MDR set-up.

I have to say that when we're in YC, we would never consider eating outside of the enclave. Perhaps that's because we sail more often in steerage, so when we are in YC we make the most of it!

Having read the menus from the YC on your last YC cruise review, and now reading the menus on your current cruise review where you are in 'steerage'!, whilst they are not bad, I can pretty safely say that apart from specialty, and perhaps the odd snack from the coffee bar, I will eat YC most all the time!!!
