  1. That is correct if you are from Europe!

We have booked our first cruise with MSC for next year and I am researching everything at the moment.

I had heard from friends who cruised with them about 4 years ago that water was not included at dinner. In my research I found a reference from August 2015 water was provided free to guests from America and Canada but Europeans had to pay. I can't post a link as it was not directly from the MSC site but if you Google the question "is water provided at dinner on MSC ".

Apparently , from a thread in 2014 , when Americans and Canadians check in they get a voucher booklet for bottled water to present at dinner to their waiter.

I haven't managed to find out yet exactly how much a bottle of water is at dinner.

More research ,lol :) It is all very confusing and contradictory. We do not want a drinks package either.

Heather, this is what I am lead to believe.

  2. Thanks for all of your replies.

Our sailing is from Southampton next September. I have tried researching this more. Still mixed responses on the water served in a glass at the dinner able. I have a freind that has just returned and will ask them. Next years package is different so whats happening now, may be different next year. I guess we will have to wait until next year. We plan to pre book our packages.

  3. Are you traveling with more than 3 people? If you have 3 or less passengers, you'll never know it exists. The pullman is flush into the ceiling unless your cabin steward lowers it for an additional passenger.

Really? I had a vision of some monstrosity stuck on the wall.

  4. Looking at the printed deck plans in the Cruise Atlas there are no cabins on Royal Princess with an asterix.

A black triangle indicates triple occupancy (all Mini-Suites accommodate at least three)

A red dot indicates quad occupancy; for Royal Minis that would be a sofa bed plus one upper berth.

And a cabin with a clear black dot is wheelchair accessible, if that is what you are looking at.

Thank you, I have only just realised this today. I wish it was clearer when we booked as I dont really want a n upper pullman in our cabin.

  5. If £65 is showing as the bottom figure of three, above which are £35 and £17.50, trust me the £65 is for $100. You are laughing as this equates to nearly $1.53 to the £. You can then buy units of those quoted up to three days before you sail. Having said this, at the moment the rate you are being quoted is so favourable.

The dollars purchased this way do not show up in your personaliser but you will have an acknowledgement in your cabin confirming this. I have never encountered any problems with buying dollars this way.

I do, however take a copy of my credit card statement with me showing the transactions as cover. If you want to hedge your bets, obcs can be purchased over the coming months at different times.

Brilliant, thank you :) We have just bought $600 for the first cruise, now going to buy the same for the 2nd :)

It shows in my account under OBC where you make the purchase.

  6. We have prepaid ours. It worked out slightly less than paying them daily. You can do this on your cruise personaliser. With what is happening just now you will be getting an even better deal I would think. We have also just put some OBC on our account. I phoned Princess UK to see what rate we would get. I think it relies on when you actually booked the cruise. You should get it at the rate then. It is bound to beat the high street rates at the moment but maybe the pound will recover before your cruise.

Thank you for your speedy response. I have looked on our personaliser and see how to pay the gratuities, which we will do.

OBC is showing £65 but It does not say what you get for that. Which is my concern.

  7. You should get your TA to add the membership number on and mention the discount. Worst they can say is no, but the discount you already have is probably from the TA, whereas this discount is from MSC.

I had the discount retroactively applied to my booking and it didn't affect the discount my TA offered.

I've emailed our agent, one can but try :)

  8. I have just received our membership status and we are GOLD. It does say 5% Discount off all your bookings with MSC Cruises. We however, have not taken this discount as we booked before the membership arrived and have already had a very good discount on our cruise. We don't want to be too greedy.

However, it does say online you can get on board credit. Is that just on certain cruises?

  9. With BA you will get a hot lunch about 90 minutes into the flight, followed by afternoon tea (half a sandwich) shortly before arrival. The lunch, as with most economy airline meals, is not exactly substantial. Personally I make sure I have a hot breakfast at the airport before boarding. Alternatively, take a couple of snack bars with you, just in case.

Thanks, sounds fine to me, we won't starve i'm sure.

  10. We already have included transfers from between airport , hotel and port. Thank you

Sorry another flights question. We are flying to Miami next year to meet Royal Princess. We have never done this before. Our flight lands about 4.55 pm. I am guessing we will get a decent meal on board BA/AA flight. Once we land, we then have the 2-3 hours dreaded immigration to deal with. During this dragged out affair, is there time to eat in the airport? Or at least grab a drink? By the time we have been through the process, it will be late getting to the hotel, about 8.30pm I think we will be too tired to go out and find somewhere to eat. What do others do please?

  11. Nice position midships, decent views forward and aft although slightly less than a full 180 degrees but absolutely nothing to worry about

Will be affected occassionally by the shadow of deck 14 but only when the sun is really high.

It is connected to 11135 so may be affected by a some noise from there.

Cabins above , below , both sides and opposite so no "white space" to worrry about.

I'd have no worries about staying in that cabin but would prefer not to have it connected. I have been in connected cabins and not had any significant noise problems.

    Pete

PS a standard 192 sq ft cabin (168 living area ; 24 bathroom) with 42 sq ft balcony

Sorry to impose, this is really useful. We are looking at balcony cabins x2 ( Fantastica) for next year on Preziosa. 2 next to each other and an inside opposite. This looks perfect for us. I do notice there are some on the rear hum with inside close by. Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks :)

  12. hi Suzez

We're from the UK and can confirm that water is not provided in the dining room at lunch or dinner. tea coffee juices and water are provided at breakfast.

The new packages aren't really new, they're re-branding what is currently called allegrissimo to 'all inclusive'. This definitely does include water. IMO it's great value for money with some great choices

Do you get water in the drinks package please?

  13. Would a photo of my last Princess cruise card be sufficient to apply? We are platinum with Princess. Would that make us Gold with MSC?

Also, does anyone have the email address to send to as I don't think the website option is working.Thank you
