Suzez,
Hopefully you can take and post some photos . . . we're all looking forward to seeing "what's new".

I will try but I am not sure how to post photos on CC

Hi Pamela,
This happened to our cruise, just after we paid the final balance. I saw the drops of £550 per person for the same grade of suite. I contact our agent who swiftly got back saying we can either upgrade or have the difference in OBC. We had the OBC. The same cruise had increased last one but all grade waitlisted now. I'm sure they will do something for you, they seem very obliging. Good luck.

Hopefully there will be some pictures to see, we board next week. Anyone else have anything to show here?

I am on the Mariner now and have been for the last 16 days. I can assure you that wearing designer jeans with open neck long sleeve shirt with or without jacket you will be smarter than 90% of the passengers on board.
Oh my word, I would never have thought that would be the case on a 6* ship!

Chinos fully comply with the Regent dress code. Your husband will be fine wearing them after 6 pm and to dinner on all nights of the cruise.
Thank you, I will let him know, he will be pleased :)

Here is a shot of a cabin on the Navigator a few days ago. :) Shiny new cabins on the way.
OKay, I'll will enjoy mine soon :)
-
So are chinos suitable for wearing in the evening and to dinner? The husband has them in all sorts of colours.
-
Would this foot wear be appropriate after 6PM? :D

Good news but I wonder why the Navigator refurbs are not being done during the dry dock at the end of March? Maybe it would be too much to handle. But May suggests they will be done during cruises.
Really? I was so looking forward to a shiney new cabin too ...

Well, I've seen Burn the floor on Getaway, the only thing that might be worth a watch is the Paradis -- Paradis will be a burlesque blend of Parisian-style songs, dances and costumes. It is directed by veteran Broadway and Off-Broadway choreographer Patricia Wilcox. Ambrose described the show as Moulin Rouge inspired. The show will be heavy on the theatrics, with more than 300 costumes. "It's a singing, dancing extravaganza," Ambrose said. Luckily, we are not going for the entertainment. I think I have heard of Peggy Lee....

Interesting, never would think to look on ebay for a Princess coffee card, but then you can find almost anything on ebay these days!
I have 3 punches left on one here, any takers ???? I paid full price on board. .........joking. Will use it on my next cruise :)

I do like to observe peoples dress choice, even if not quite to the code expected. There is always one that stands out in the crowd.
I dont know if there is any sort of formal on our cruise, I don't think so. I think his nibs will take smart black trousers and nice shirts and ties for evening.

Should my husband take one of his black suits on our cruise next month? He was going to leave it at home as it takes up valuable case space and weight, we have a flight to consider.

I asked a simple question about dress codes and it has started a S### storm. Look, before I get off this horse let me say my wife and I have no desire to dress and act like Mr. And Mrs. Thurston Howell III from Gilligan's Island because I'm on a Regent cruise. I get that it is an upper class, first cabin cruise and not a party Love Boat outfit. That is why I booked a Penthouse. But what I and others were simply making a point, "dress jeans" that we speak of are not faded Levis, they are not rock star jeans with custom holes in the knees. They are very expensive, soft, custom tailored denim material that make Dockers look like gym shorts, sweat pants, etc. others refer to. I have a dozen of them in my closet and they cost around $200 a pair. Those pants with a nice collard shirt and (optional) blazer, I guarantee you would put anyone with Dockers and a Polo shirt in a different game. But Geez, the comments made to "leave your jeans at home, this is a Regent cruise," etc, is a bit over the top. To paraphrase what someone just posted, "If I were to judge Regent based on these posts, I'd be turned off." Sheesh, I will go buy a $50 pair of Dockers so I can dress for success and "fit in" with the elites who think that is dressing up. But I am also going to bring a couple pair of my dreaded "dress jeans," and if they are allowed, I'm going to wear them. You can't miss me, I'll be the tall and handsome lad wearing a beautiful and COMFORTABLE pair of dark blue or black denims, a white collard shirt and blue blazer sipping a Grey Goose martini, feeling good, looking good and enjoying myself with my beautiful wife, having a blast with my best friend and her boyfriend, Living Life Large. I won't be calling my wife "Lovey" and she won't be calling me "Poopsy." So let's move on, we are all going to have a great time, a great cruise a great experience. Drinks are on me.
Feeling so poorly here, nursing a head cold, this did make me chuckle :)

I was also on this cruise and have been shocked by the poor food hygiene practices of P&O, I had severe food poisoning on board not norovirus.
Given the practices I witnessed onboard, I believe a lot of the people that were displaying gastro problems were also poisoned.
P&O are not going to tell customers they have food poisoning they will fob you off with norovirus, sure some passengers may have had a virus but after what I saw I know people were being given contaminated food.
I will give you one example of what I saw on board.
At the pool side grill I witnessed staff handling raw meat products then turning around and grabbing handfuls of fries and salad and thus cross contaminating finished product.
He then proceeded to handle plates and cutlery, I tried to warn the guy in front of me, he just glared at me and walked off.
I really hope that guy got sick.
I'm afraid it got worse in the buffet restaurant and public health England will be getting the full details in due course.
Oh and all of the basic food hygiene failings I saw was after they had implemented the intensive cleaning regime.
My message is simple
Do not book with P&O (my local roadside burger van has better food hygiene)
That's dreadful, it is questionable if it is the virus or food poisoning. I am sure food poisoning plays a part too.

As I live near Heathrow and was cabin crew for BA for 39 years, may I make a suggestion. You could go and have a nice shower n the Ba lounge and then go to Windsor which is only about 20 mins from the airport. Visit Windsor Castle and then maybe have a nice traditional English pub lunch. Always a nice day without the stress of going in to London.
Windsor is nice, easier and closer option. The castle is impressive. Her Majesty may even be in residence that day. I hope you get to see a bit more than just T5.

Just noticed that Regent have changed a lot of their itineraries for the Med and are not now going to Istanbul or any Turkish ports in that area of the Med.
This doesn't surprise me. To be expected at this time, sadly :(
-
We have an up coming Explorer cruise in the med and found this article of interest.
It is a worry, of course. We have a cruise booked in the Med in April. We are going ahead with our plans. I am sure if thing become too unstable the ships will avoid certain areas. I do wonder if this is the reason why our cruise has been so reduced.

Suzez, your understanding is correct. This has only to do with Regent Choice excursions that you pay for in advance.
Thank you, just curious to know. Our OBC will probably be spent at The Canyon Ranch and shopping :)

Just looking at the cruise ship visits on the P&O site and wondered if anyone who went last year remembered what time you had to be at Southampton?
Hi, We did a Britannia ship visit last year. You will receive a detailed itinerary of the day, in the post from P & O. We always arrive around 10am. You get put into groups, then go through security around 10.30 ish. Dinner is about midday and you will finish about 2pm, if all runs smoothly that is. Enjoy your day on Britannia. Wear comfy shoes :)
-
Hi Poss. You book and pay for the excursion in advance. Then, as long as the excursion is not full, you cancel and rebook onboard and get your money back (in cash - they do not put it back on your credit card).
Am I right in thinking that you can booked a 'paid for' tour, then you get the money back in cash when you cancel on board? Do you have to book something else to be able to do this?
All of our tours we have booked are included, so we plan on using our OBC for treatments, maybe a nice bottle of wine or 2.

It should be listed on the bottom of your invoice - if you are working with a TA, have them forward you the paperwork from Regent. Your TA should be able to confirm that it is there.
It is also listed when you get your boarding package from Regent.
I have never seen it listed on my RSSC account on line.
When you board, in your suite will be a cards listing all the OBC that you are entitled to - in all our cruises, it has always been correct.
gnomie :)
Hi, I have had confirmation via email and one is a forward email from Regent. It was confirmed that it does not show on my online account.

I have not heard of that I'm afraid. I don't know what the fly is either. My phone is a new i phone, still learning to use it. Hopefully we can use the i pad or the other tablet to get some pics on here for you all to see, like I said before, I'll try my best :)
I am popping with excitement to get on board Navigator, in 5 days time :)
