  1. This is from the viewpoint of being in just a regular balcony without all the extras. We have been on the Equinox at least 4 times and have really enjoyed the cruises with the exception of September when I tested positive on day 5 of 9 day sailing. We will be on again in March. Was on the reflection earlier this month and with the only negative that it was only 7 days and not longer. We had a very good time and if you are not interested in the specialty restaurants, I think either ship is a good choice.
  2. Have been on the Equinox 4-5 times and always had a great time except for September when I tested positive on day 5 of 9 day sailing. Was on the Reflection a few weeks ago and also had a great time. Will be on the Equinox again in March and can't wait.
  3. What level are you to be getting the drinks and wi-fi along with the free room? We are happy just to have the free room but I will ask my wife to spend more time in the casino when we are on the Equinox.
  4. Was on the Reflection recently in a BCC free veranda with a twice as large as regular balcony. Had a really great cruise. Have a 10 night BCC coming up on the Equinox for under $300.00. Went to the future cruise people to see the regular cost with no perks $3200.00 if booked on the ship with $400.00 OBC and all included was over $5000.00. We did spend some time in the casino so hope these offers keep coming.
  5. BCC is Blue Chip Club. I believe it's part of Celebrity casino and they send out emails with offers of free veranda cabins on a variety of ships and sailings. How they decide who to send these offers to seems to be a mystery. Some people say it's to those who have spent money in the casino while others don't remember spending anything and have gotten offers.
  6. We were on the same cruise and I agree with the above comment. Was in a cabin that had a balcony that was at least twice as large as a regular balcony. That this was a BCC offer made it even more enjoyable a cruise.
  7. I went on to Celebrity website to price out the 10 day cruise and it's just over $2,700.00 with no perks. Makes the $269.00 price even more unbelievable.
  8. One sailing is the Equinox for 10 days in a regular midship balcony for total price of $269.00 or the Reflection for 7 days in a midship upgrade to AquaClass for $634.00. We have never been in an AquaClass but you can't beat 10 days instead of 7 for almost $400.00 less in price. Would greatly appreciate any thoughts in helping me to decide.
  9. Received a new BCC email with a bunch of choices. Not to complain but they can make it difficult to decide what to book and hope it's still available when you call. Went with the Equinox in March but could not get an AquaClass cabin. Hope everyone that gets the offer winds up with their first choice.
  10. I tried calling twice today and gave up after about an hour each time. Will try again in the morning, how far behind can they be at that hour when they start taking calls. I still want them to clarify if it's 10 or 20 pp per day to upgrade to Aqua.
  11. Just to be clear in my mind, you did an upgrade from a regular veranda to Aqua, not from a concierge to Aqua. I was going to call BCC earlier today but did not have a chance. I will call first thing tomorrow and see if I can get any sort of answer as to how they decide on upgrade amount. Who knows, maybe I can get them to adjust the amount I was charged.
  12. My wife is shown as ONYX and I am shown as PEARL. But the email offer is in her name.
  13. Think I will call bcc and see if they actually can give a reason why possibly different charges.
  14. I called bcc yesterday and did the upgrade to Aqua. Cost was $20.00 a day pp. Same amount I was quoted day I booked. Some earlier responses people said they paid $10.00 but all the latest responses indicate $20.00. I was originally told by bcc that the $10.00 was upgrade from veranda to concierge not Aqua. It''s not that the addl charge for Aqua is that much especially when only paying taxes/fees but if some people actually did only pay $10.00 to upgrade from veranda to Aqua, that amount should be available to all.
  15. Called Blue Chip and asked all the questions I had wanted to ask. Yesterday they mentioned some of the available AquaClass cabins and one of them was a slanted balcony cabin. Went on Celebrity website this morning to see what was still open and the slanted cabin was not available. Called to do the change to AquaClass and apparently that cabin was actually available so I had them make the change. The cost was $20.00 a day pp. Actually don't mind the extra expense since We were on the 9/17 sailing on Equinox and I tested positive on day 5 of 9 day sailing and received pro rated refund for 4 days. Will be on another Blue Chip cruise in a few weeks and unfortunately never thought about making an upgrade and hopefully will be able to enjoy the whole cruise.
  16. Since this is a free cruise except for taxes/fees, I think the extra money for AquaClass may be worth it for blue and the other extras that AquaClass provides. If I decide to go with it I will call Blue Chip tomorrow to change cabins.
  17. Trying to decide on which balcony to choose and on all the ships deck plans you have balconies that look to be on an angle. Example- on the Equinox deck 7 cabins 7211, 7215, 7217 and 7219. I expect all the balcony cabins are the same but is there any difference in size of balcony?
  18. Has anyone recently upgraded the free veranda to AquaClass? Trying to verify what Blue Chip club charged to do the upgrade. I called today and was told it is $20.00 a day pp. Just wondering if anyone was charged a different amount. We never were in AquaClass since some of the locations depending on ship are not the greatest. We usually like midship close to the elevators. However, some of the perks that come with it are appealing such as eating in blu. Wonder if the food is really better then MDR?.
  19. I just called the Blue Chip club to ask about the AquaClass upgrade and they said the price is $20.00 per night pp and not the $10.00 as indicated above. They said the $10.00 is for Concierge class not Aqua. Has anyone gotten the Aqua for $10.00?
  20. Just called Blue Chip Club and the Equinox sailings we wanted were either all booked or obstructed view. Very disappointed in myself that I did not see the offer sooner. Wound up with the Reflection in March for 7 days but not as good as 9 days had we been able to get the Equinox. Wish these offers went out further then March since we have a Blur Chip sailing on Reflection before end of December. Just crazy how they decide who to send offers to since I see in some of these posts that people who spend a lot in casino have not gotten offers and others who spend almost nothing get them.
  21. I submitted the online form this morning and have not heard back, so I will call them tomorrow morning. My first 2 choices were on the Edge but will be very happy if I can get the Equinox since we have been on her 3 or 4 times. As I mentioned in my previous response tested positive on day 5 of 9 day cruise so hopefully that will not be repeated.
  22. I somehow missed reading the email from 11/21with so many offers and went searching for it after reading these posts. Not sure how many of the sailings are still available. I selected 2-10 day sailings on the Edge and 1-9 day on the Equinox. Will be on the Reflection before end of December on a Blue Chip offer. Was on the 9/17 sailing of the Equinox and tested positive on day 5 of nine day sailing so really looking forward to upcoming cruise. Sure hope that one of my selections is accepted.
  23. Taking a Blue chip cruise in December. I never take the cruise lines insurance but go to insure my trip or squaremouth to find much better coverage. The cruise is less than $300.00 and found a policy for $131.00 with high coverages for the most important things you want covered such as medical and medical evacuation since you never know what may happen. .
