  1. I feel more motion on the top decks than I do down lower. I also suffer from Motion sickness (thank goodness for Bonine). I would say we have aft cabins 7 out of 10 cruises. Definitely can't do forward. But with that said we book lower, like Caribbe or Dolphin decks.

  2. At $1000 more pp no thank you! For $2000 you could eat in Sabatinis and the Crown grill every night and still be ahead.

    I agree.

As for port or starboard.....We just booked mini suite port on the Emerald deck because I called RCI and found out that there is a smoking section on the Promenade deck below the minis on Emerald Starboard. So if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke you might want to call RCI and see which side smoking is allowed on the promenade deck.

I also prefer the minis on the Emerald deck for privacy issues. You have NO cover on the Dolphin deck.

Also if your cruise is a ways out......keep checking to see if one of the end cabins opens up. People book them then change their minds on the whole cruise. Happens all the time.

  3. On a recent cruise we had a cabin mix-up:rolleyes::eek:

So we went to the cabin assigned on the manifest and our set up was there as it should be. It appeared the mix up might not be resolved so we unpacked our clothing. By 7 pm that night they had our correct cabin ready and we left the mini bar in place. When we arrived in our new cabin a new mini set up was there. After getting settled in, the attendant who moved us knocked on our door and presented us with the blue princess give-away bag full of the mini bar items. Our new room attendant told us to keep it all.

I am just mentioning this cuz I would never have believed those freebee bags would carry that much weight. So there is your answer for moving any left overs.

Perfect....that thought never even entered this tired brain  Didn't want any tonic water to explode in my suitcase  Thanks:)

  4. Probably not the right place to ask, but, we are doing a b2b and are changing cabins. I know we won't use everything in the mini-bar set-up on the first cruise. Will they give us something to put it all in so the room stewards can move it to the new cabin or should we put it all in our luggage

  5. I used to use the patch. no side effect until I took it off when I got home. Then I started to go through withdrawal. It happened to me twice after having them on for over 18 days. AND I also left them on for longer than the 3 days they tell you to. Finally I gave up and just use over the counter Bonine. I like it better than Dramamine because it doesn't make me drowsy. If the seas are rough, I chew one in the morning and one at night. Have never had a problem and we do a lot of transatlantic cruises.

Good luck and enjoy your 1st TA....but be warned....you may be hooked :D

  6. We are Elite on Princess and Elite+ on Celebrity. We too have been disappointed in our last several cruises with Celebrity. In April we just did a 15 night Panama Canal on the Infinity. Now it had been years since we had been on the Summitt (same class). We thought the food was horrible. The staff snooty. The cabin filthy (which we had the room steward re-clean). I'm not a complainer but when there is toothpaste on the mirror in the bathroom and food (nuts) on the carpet.....I don't think it's too much to ask for a clean cabin. We also prefer the wine packages on Princess much better than X.

Princess's perks are much, much better also.

    Happy sailing whoever you choose.:)

  7. Just make sure you make reservations for each and every day, even if you don't like the time. You can always change on board. No reservations are given the latest times or if you wish to eat earlier it may be the Windjammer.

Just spoke to a representative at Royal and he said if you don't have a reservation then you just rotate dining rooms and wait for a table. HE said the wait is probably between 3 & 5 minutes. I find that hard to believe. This dining thing is becoming a nightmare :(

  8. No they aren't. I faxed in my request on February 5th along with my sister's request. My sister's OBC was applied but mine wasn't. Impossible as they both were sent in the same fax. I made a copy along with a copy of the fax confirmation and mailed it in. It's finally applied almost a month later. IMHO, poor service. :( I'm not a happy camper.

I have had the same problem with faxing in 2 requests for b2b cruises. They will credit one and not the other.

Now I fax the first cruise info in and wait a week and fax the other.
