  1. We had a very enjoyable night, last night. We went to the show, Blinding Lights, in the theatre, before dinner. We both agreed that it was the best show we’d ever seen on a ship. I have a video clip which I can’t upload at the moment as I only have the Browse internet package. I’ll add it in later. We met our table mates at dinner, who are a lovely couple, also from Ireland, and went to the Crystal (aft) lounge afterwards. There was the usual Entertainment team ‘game’ and then dancing to a great band that was playing there. Speaking of bands: There was a live band playing the music on stage at both shows we’ve been to (I remember reading comments on here from people complaining that MSC shows only used backing tracks).
  2. There’s no point in posting last night’s dinner menu as stated on the app as was wrong. Strange thing is that the app on our dinner companions’ phone was correct (both iPhones). Mr B ordered a chicken dish and I had braised beef.
  3. Just seen that they have a ‘Beatles Forever’ tribute in the main lounge at 9pm. That’s so not fair on those of us who have that as our allotted dining time. 😡😭
  4. As usual, @Nunagoras you make some great points. I’ll respond to you more later on. Haven’t checked the TV out. The app has hugely improved and shows your onboard spending so you can keep track. Thank you for your good wishes.
  5. You have to scan a QR code from a card in the cabin for the menu. I’m sure you can get a printed copy if you ask your steward. Speaking of: There was no spare toilet roll in the bathroom on embarkation, nor was the one on the holder full. Notepapar was provided, but no pen. Well, both turned up this morning in the cabin. I wonder if, after meeting us, our steward felt we were trustworthy enough to have a spare roll. 🤣🤣🤣
  6. I see that MSC has finally increased the prices for room service items. For a long time it was €5 for 2 items; it’s now €6. I still think this is very good value. Many a day I enjoyed the chicken wrap on our 28 day odyssey to South Africa on Sinfonia. Seeing the list here has brought back some great memories of that trip.
  7. They’ve removed the butler service from Sky suite guests, though the fares for that category are still way more expensive than YC.
  8. Hi CGT. Nice to see you about the place, too.
  9. They have arranged to embark them in Limassol, P, and there are 112 being embarked in Kusadasi, according to Guest Services.
  10. It’s under ‘Things to do’. Scroll down to ‘Restaurants’ and tap on that. Your assigned restaurant will come up. Tap on it and the week’s menu list will show.
  11. For those who like Italian food: There are Italians at a table directly behind us. One woman ordered the fregola sarda and is encouraging her table mates to try some of hers. Mr B certainly enjoyed his.
  12. Our lunch choices. The filling in the sandwich was piping hot.
  13. Real butter. (Oh, no, not Buttergate again, I hear you cry. 🤣🤣)
  14. Hi Ken. Thanks. Yeah - 24 degrees here today. Perfect 🤩.
  15. I have found out why the ship seems so quiet. There are only 1700 onboard (capacity 3223). So almost at half capacity
  16. Crazy busy pool deck. Pool is packed out - with ONE person. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  17. You can also scan the menu at the table. It will give you the offerings for that day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  18. Hi Cap’n. Musica is in fantastic condition. Crew are wonderful - very friendly and chatty. I will be very interested in reading about your Europa experience. Personally, the X menus suit me better. The buffet (well, certainly on The Edge last year) is far superior to MSC’s one. We were very disappointed in the one on Europa, considering the size of the ship. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it more.
  19. I have discovered that the menus for the week are available on the app. However, the app is not very navigateable (I know it’s not a word, but you get the drift).
  20. Thanks Foxy. It’s taking a little time to re-adjust to the old MSC vibe which isn’t the same on the newer ships. Very few English speaking onboard. Lounges were practically empty by 10pm last night and it wasn’t due to some at late dining while others are in the theatre as there was only one show on and that was at 10.30pm. Nor was it because of people disembarking today as it’s not an embarkation port. Speaking of the show, it was ‘Back to the Musicals’ and was very enjoyable.
  21. I’ll post the other menus throughout the week if you like. There isn’t a whole lot of interest in this as this is one of the last sailings of this itinerary.
  22. We checked out the buffet after we finished lunch and Mr B decided to try the biryani, which he reported was very nice. There is outdoor seating at the aft, so he enjoyed it there. The buffet was not busy at all. We’ve been assigned late dining, which is 9pm (early is 6.30pm). We decided not to dine in the MDR as the buffet offerings were more or less the same, with the added Ethnic station (disappointing) and roast veal on the carvery. The place was almost empty; as a result, food was cold as it was lying out. On the subject of the buffet, I had read somewhere that a section becomes a Speciality steak and fish restaurant at night and would not be covered by the Diamond perk. However, this is not true - the only SR onboard is Kaito.
