  1. Captjohn

You have a range of experiences adding to this thread. Some newbie Titanium's have their observations and have opinions of TA's that are not Titanium and don't work "for" Regent.

I will give you my observations (not opinions) and experience. For example, on our last cruise, my Regent invoice merely stated: "Land Arrangements: Post- transfer ship to airport". The Final Cruise Vacation Summary document stated: "Motor coach service from SS EXPLORER to airport". This is typical for Regent documents. Sometimes it will say "private transfer", sometimes not. Additionally, if we do a cruise-only, it does not even list a transfer at the end of the cruise.

Regardless of what the documents say, or don't say, Destinations will schedule your private transfer before the end of the cruise. If we are on cruise-only (no Regent airfare) we still request the private transfer to any place of our choice.

We received the private transfer on the cruise upon which we attained Titanium status.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Since the first private transfer occurs prior to getting onto the ship, I don't understand how what is printed on the invoice can be irrelevant. Our invoice shows transportation to the ship - not to the airport. Agree that those arrangements are handled onboard.

The TS asked about transfers at the end of the cruise. That was answered accurately.

  3. The Regent benefits page states that a private transfer will be provided from ship to the airport. Our documents show a private transfer from airport to hotel (embarkation) but a coach transfer to the airport ( LHR ).

Don't worry. You will be pampered on board. The Destinations team will send you a questionnaire about one week prior to the end of your cruise and ask for your preferences. This includes confirmation that you would like the private car or van (depending on length of cruise), and what time you would like to debark. What is printed on your invoice is irrelevant. This is handled on board.

Heathrow is covered from Southampton. We did that transfer one month ago.

  4. Anchorbuoy,

Thank you for bringing this item to our attention. The information was posted incorrectly on the FAQ section, as there have been no changes to the Titanium-level transfer benefit.

Jason: Thanks for the update and clarification. The older FAQ was certainly a surprise when I read it. It is not like Regent to have stealth benefit cuts for Seven Seas Society members. The new wording is very clear and concise.

  5. Never positive about anything but there is another couple that is also Titanium and they also are receiving a private transfer. Guess time will tell on that one.

If you are taking both the included airfare and pre-cruise hotel, you will get the private transfer from the airport to the hotel. The following morning, you will get on the hotel-to-ship bus along with everyone else at the hotel. This has been the case for many years.

If you made your own air arrangements, you will still get the private transfer to the ship.

The thing that has changed recently (per the FAQ as least) is denial of hotel pick-up or drop off.

  6. The day of embarkation we'll take Regent's private transportation from the hotel to the ship (something that you will soon be eligible for when you turn Titanium)..

Are you sure you will get a private car? Regent has changed the wording of the Titanium benefit and specifically declines transfers from hotels.

From the Titanium Tier Level FAQ section of Regent's USA website:

We provide complimentary transfers on embarkation from the airport to the pier and from the pier to the airport on disembarkation - these transfers may not be private if other guests are on the same flight or similar arrival time.

We only provide transfers to the pier on embarkation day from the airport and to the airport from the pier on disembarkation day. We do not provide transfers to and from hotels to the pier.

  7. On Explorer, each Day-1 copy of Passages has the following printed announcement:

    BALCONY LIGHTS OFF WHILE SAILING

For maximum navigational safety while sailing at night, all guests residing in forward suites are requested to turn balcony lights off. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  8. I had a similar situation on Regent 3 years ago. It was not an “excursion” but a pre-cruise land program which had an extra cost. Regent, or the tour operator, did not have the minimum participation, so it was cancelled. I received a phone call telling me that it occurred. The tour fare was instantly refunded to my credit card.

Like you, I had purchased air arrangements on my own. Hence, I had to change my air reservation on my own. Your only other option is to stay 3 nights in hotels and explore independently.

  9. Given the fact that we do not use real names, how is Regent suppose to determine who "supposedly valued customers" are vs. posters visiting the Regent board from another cruise line. We are anonymous. For all Regent knows, advertisers for a competing cruise line could be posting on the Regent board. From what I can see, all long term valued customers regularly cruise with Regent and therefore have the opportunity to fill out questionnaires.

One way is to sign up for a Meet and Mingle.

Via CC, you give Regent your real name, booking number, and CC identity.

  10. Anchorbuoy: When you say that you "found a lower price on a USA promotion," I'm not sure what you mean. I.e., where did you find the promotion? On the Regent website or somewhere else? Thanks..

My TA also had knowledge of "covert pricing". The list price in the brochures and on the RSSC website was unchanged. But a special sale was offered for unsold inventory close to sailing dates.

  11. The Best Price guarantee does work, if you qualify with their 2 limitations, stated in the wording of the guarantee. I just received a $2000 FCC from our February Explorer cruise when I found a lower price on a USA promotion.

The 2 conditions from Regent are:

    1) public promotion with a lower price, and

    2) cruise and category you have selected is still available

If the suite category is sold out, then condition #2 disqualifies any refund or credit. I don't know why they would reprice a category that is unavailable. On the other hand, watch to see if the suite category opens up closer to departure......with upsells, you may find a period of time when the lower categories have availability again !!

  12. It also seemed that we disembarked from the same terminal with no difficulty.

Negative. Those of us who boarded on Mariner on November 17 left from Terminal J (Southwest corner of Dodge Island, next to RCL headquarters). We returned on December 12 to Terminal E (north side of Dodge Island), since Oceania took our berth at Terminal J.

On December 22, we got bumped to Pier 59 (tent, in the middle of RCL's construction zone. What a zoo !

  13. I noticed this offer on our American Express cards this morning and did not see it mentioned on this forum so I wanted to pass it along:

"Get a one-time $225 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a total of $750+ on Regent Cruise sailings

    Thanks joepeka for the info.

Our AmEx Blue Card had the offer. I made a deposit on a new booking, and received an email the next day from AmEx confirming the $225 credit. Nice!

  15. Additional benefits mentioned in the Seven Seas Society Pages, from Jason O'Keefe:

Diamond: one free Regent Choice shore excursion, 5% off cruise fare.

Commodore: commemorative Commodore Officer's jacket, 10% off cruise fare, and a permanent plaque with their names aboard each ship

    Benefits start January 1, 2018.

  16. From www.rssc.com/seven-seas-society today:

In 2018, we will introduce two additional tiers to our loyalty program: Diamond and Commodore. Guests with more than 1,000 nights sailed will be elevated to the Diamond tier and receive new unique benefits, such as an invitation to an inaugural event. And for those with more than 2,000 nights sailed will be advanced to the Commodore tier-level and receive specialize recognition, in addition to a total of 10% off of their cruise fare for life.

  17. Nine o'clock is the scheduled departure time.

    Captain: Stan de Lacombe

GM: Franck Galzy and Michael Coghlan. Both are onboard until Jan 20 for handoff, and then Franck departs.

CD: Andy Heath. He shadowed John Baron for the past week

    ACD: Olivia

    Social Hostess: Tammy Heath

    F&B: Mark (from Oceania)

    DRM: Vladimir

    Head Sommelier: Nixon

Lots of staff has just changed, but many familiar faces.

  18. For what it is worth, here is today's debarkation from Mariner in Miami terminal J:

7:00am...scheduled arrival of Mariner at the port. We were on time.

8:15am...scheduled first group to be called to debark

    8:45am...ACTUAL first group called

Nobody can leave the ship until all luggage is off the ship, organized in the terminal building, and cleared. You are at the mercy of the dock workers and customs. There were many nervous people with flights in jeopardy.
