If you use a TA the cancellation would come through them. NCL doesn't normally call a passenger that is booked through a TA. I'm not sure what NCL is supposed to do if a TA steals your money and doesn't pay the cruise line? Do you have insurance?
This is one of the possible issues that can occur when using a TA to "save" money. Not much chance for this to happen if booked directly. Perhaps the TA or his/her company is bonded??? Good luck!!
I'm not concerned about getting my money back. I am concerned about NCL honoring the cruise fare. I am NCL advocate and hope they will be there for me!

According to an earlier post, NCL canceled all reservations made by a TA that is no longer in business.
While it sux, it's not like the OP was singled out for cancellation.
I would guess that this isn't the first or last time a TA went belly up and left clients in the lurch.
NCL probably has a policy for this.
Another good reason for using a PCC or a TA with a great reputation and always get travel insurance.
And don't you think a notification from NCL would be appropriate????

Just got off the phone with NCL- It was not American express who screwed up - "corporate NCL" cancelled the reservation yesterday from all this TA's accounts. I received no call or alert. Now they want me to pay $3000 more for this cabin even after I spoke to them 4 weeks ago to confirm my booking and check that they would honor pricing.! I am crying here- I am a platinum member of NCL and hoped they would honor the price. Yes he was cheaper than NCL all along, but not much cheaper than the 3 other quotes I received at the time of booking. They said they would get back to me tomorrow. My air is booked and I am devastated :(

My online TA took off with half my deposit and only paid NCL 1000 for upcoming cruise. I called NCL and they said no problem, just pay them directly. I called am ex and they are doing an inquiry to get back my missing $1000. Now I checked back with NCL web page and my reservation is gone! The idiots at American express screwed up somehow and got y deposit back from NCL. OMG- now on hold with NCL for 65 minutes praying I get my cabin back and my price :( What nightmare!!!

I really just feel bad for my 11 year old. They are best buds and will be lost without eachother. They are not new to crusing or kids clubs and have never been apart. will me 13 year old have the ability to sign himself out?
Well- a follow up from me- since they were not together they both refused the kids clubs:(
They will be a full year older when we cruise next Easter so I am more comfortable letting them have some freedom. Unfortunately the 12 yr. old (now still 11) still will not be able to hang with the teens :(

50 days from today and we will be in our first ever suite, 16003. We are so excited. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I also booked this room and am psyched! My husnamd and I enjoy just sunning and hanging out on the pool deck. Just curious- can you see/hear the band from the posh area? I'd like to be able to see the kids at the slides from deck 16. Is that possible?

Just off the Sun - The Captain was Ronny Borg and the Conciege was Monica. She was fabulous along with Theresa our Butler. I was not impressed with the Cruise Director. Sorry I forgot his name. I think he was from the Phillipines.

Has someone done the Loko Bus West Beach Hopping Tour
with Irie Tours ?
It's a 6 hour West Island tour instead of the 3 hour East Tour.
On the west tour you go to Cas Abou Beach, Santa Cruz Beach,
Playa Forti (cliff jumping), Knip Beach.
$69 drinks and lunch included.
I am also interested in the west side tour. Any reviews ?

We are in a family suite on the Star March 17th. We booked through a TA. Would I expect to get an email like this also? Or do you have to book with NCL to get this?
I booked through a TA. You should also receive "real" luggage tags in the mail :)

I am on the Dawn in three weeks and in the Aft Penthouse Suite, I never got an email. Do you know if these emails are just for a specific type of suite?
Not sure- we are in a penthouse suite- ypou can e-mail concierge desk (check c.critic for e-mail address) and they can assist.

Just received an e-mail from concierge desk asking me to pick my "pillow type" and choice of coffeee and teas. This is why we try other cruise lines and run back to the suite life on NCL !

hi all
i spoke to ncl last friday regarding paying for my wife for the drinks
package, my wife is unable to drink alcohol due to meds i was told that if
we have a letter from doctor stating this my wife wont have to pay and i
can get the package for myself, a huge saving on a 9 night cruise.
I will let you know how it goes when back from cruise tho not until 30th march.

Well, I am not a happy camper. Just booked the 3/4/13 Gem and was hoping to get the UBP. Now, they say they won't offer it between 3/1 and sometime in April cuz its 'spring break". Since when is the first week of March spring break???? If it was spring break I wouldn't be going on this cruise!!!:cool:
Now, I am forced to bring my Rum Runners out of retirement!!!
I guess they should not offer it all summer too if they are so concerned about youngsters on board!!

I feel your pain. Our 11 day cruise in mid March on the Sun is not cosidered a "booze cruise". We are very disappointed :(

Yes- we were counting on this for Easter week :( We are on a 11 day cruise on the Sun-I doubt it will be filled with a young boozing crowd...

A NCL rep said to someone we are traveling with that they would not be offering the drink package during the spring break season. Has anyone else heard this?
I hope that is not the case for us but it looks like it may be true since the corporate and large group drink packages are unavailable from March 1st- April 15th! http://www.events.ncl.com/assets/documents/18282GroupBeverageFlyer.pdf

I dont recall paying tax on the soda cards and we always buy them immediately on board for the kids.

I hope so too! There's no way I could pay the price quoted by NCL. My air is booked (non refundable). I go to every meet n greet and have always backed NCL. I will keep everyone posted with an update tomorrow.
