For goodness sake, many ships go to Belize- that cannot be the reason!
-
Great! Please report on how you like it. We're going in Nov. '09, 11 nights. How about you?
Yes- 11 nights for us too . I promise to give a review when we return!
-
Yes, the Windjammer starts serving buffet breakfast about 7 in the morning.
I've got JS 1100 too! When are you going? If it's before 11/30/09, let me know how that cabin is. I picked it especially because of comments on these boards. I love being in the back of the ship where a minimum of people pass by your room.
We just got off Vision of the Seas where we had the JS 8088 also a corner aft with a terrific wrap around balcony. I hope we'll enjoy 1100 as much.
I actually know where Ft. Salonga is! I've been there, used to live in NYC.
Wow- no one ever knows where Fort Salonga is :)
We had an aft cabin for the first time on NCL this past February and loved the privacy too! We are going to the Panama Canal Feb. 2009 and cannot wait.

We have cabin 1100 aft on JOS . Is the Windjammer open in the morning? I'm hoping to run up and grab some snacks to bring down to the cabin :)

We will often just drink Fanta Limon (lemon soda) and red wine when we are in Spain. Refreshing and goes drink easy! On a side note, we also drink Fanta Limon mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with beer. Try it when you're there - order a "clara". Yum.
Ahh the memories of Espana. My favorite drink living there was "ginebra y limon" :)

I lived in Spain for four years with husband #1. The sangria there was fantastic, made with red table wine, brandy, sugar and a little lemon lime soda and plenty of fruit.
-
Not yet - we are booked with Stephen next month :)

I haven't but have heard some have and they have gotten what they ordered. it might be like the main dining room menu: if you do not like what is being served for dinner you can request other veggies, salmon, steak or chicken for you entree and baked potatoes, they just don't broadcast this. I really am not sure. One thing I do know, Princess does not have coffee makers in the cabin which is going to bother us a little.
Nita
Princess has no cheese platters on the room service menu either. They wanted to charge me big bucks for a few slices of cheese and fruit!

There was no hot breakfast via room service on Princess when I sailed last February. In fact- there overall room service menu was not as good as NCL!

Vendors on Cayo Levantado island have to stay on their assigned areas (market area) but whicle you are there they will try to sell you their products. Once you are outside the shopping area they are not allowed to follow you or sell elsewhere so if you are not interested just walk away.
Snorkling in Cayo Levantado is very nice and you will be able to rent equipment on the island.
This season the island will add a canopy tour and a sea lion encounter so it should be a very fun place to go to.
Best,
Bahia Cruiser
Is the canopy tour through the cruise line?

Just was wondering if they charge the $29 for small children, too, or do they have a discount for children. We have a 4-year-old who would be accompanying us on the tour. Thanks.
It's the same price
-
Well- I went against all my standards of practice and booked through the cruise line. $29.00 for a boat ride to an island. What a scam- but looks like we have no choice....
-
Hi 2boyz, ordinarily, we would take a cab, etc. independently but after reading quite a few comments regarding the drivers (apparently very few speak english) it poses a risk of getting back to the ship on time. We just don't want to take that chance. We'll save our pesos;) where it is less risky. Besides, we are landlocked and will happily pay $66 for all day at a beautiful beach!:D
Just my 2 cents.
Happy Sailing!!!
Romy
Most likely we will too- but I'm looking forward to seeing what the NCL crowd does when they start their reviews in the fall/winter. I just don't like the feeling of being "ripped off' :(
-
I'm just wondering why NCL is charging $33.00 basically for a boat ride to the island and a chair! I'm still considering getting over there on my own or exploring other beaches. It's alot of money for four of us....
-
The NCL website says $33 bucks for a free drink and a chair- no food. For a family of four that's alot of money. I'd rather pay a local kid to take us over on the other side of the island. We did that with Princess to Grenada and it worked out great. I guess we'll just wait and see what the next few months of cruise critic reports have to say :)

Has anyone been to this resort- Harbour Village Beach Club?
-
We plan on feeding the kids around 6PM, prior to going to the kids club- then we will eat later...
Can we order the above items for room service? Are any of these items on the buffet ( chicken tenders, hot dogs, etc? ). NCL had a nice area at the buffet set up just for kids...
-
I don't think it's a good idea to give out your exact cabin numbers and sailing dates for safety reasons... JMHO....
Late Embarkation- Liberty this weekend
in Royal Caribbean International

I have cruised many times from Miami and have never had a problem arriving or departing. Usually arrive at 11am and on board within 1 hour. The airport is a nightmare but otherwise fine. From what I'm reading here I am definitely doing baggage valet on disembarkation!
The scary thing is this will be the largest ship I have ever been on. Is it just too many people???
