I do disagree.  It's a perk of the Haven which does not come cheap.  It's what I pay for..... and in my experience, there was just the two of us, so it's not like Haven guests are taking over the whole place....

We just got off the Breakaway and our concierge also told us ( and this was the first time in our many times in the Haven) no about being escorted to the theater early. I said point blank that this was not acceptable. The haven seats are not close enough for me to comfortably see and my husband to hear. She arranged for our butler to bring us down. When others in the Haven saw us go they were so happy to join us. Needless to say her tip reflected this and our butler received double .

We are on the Breakaway in a few weeks and definitely will ask the concierge. What is her name ? We don't ask the concierge for much but this I plan to for sure!

Today, I checked our cruise on the Escape , and is interesting how much the price has come down and yet the bids stay the same. Haven is almost sold out, 18 days out. oh well i guess we wont get it LOL...

Keep checking the prices. I called my TA  and booked Haven. I am 24 days out. Price i paid was a few hundred more than my bid.

That's exactly what I did every night we had dinner in the Haven Restaurant.

As a rule, even though I love it, I never order prime rib in a conventional restaurant.  Even the best cuts have too much fat to trim away to make it a good cost-benefit ratio.  But, of course, that's not a consideration in the Haven Restaurant.

The first night I requested only one lobster tail, then I discovered how small they were.  After that, I requested them in multiples with my prime rib.

Just switched rooms to Haven for my upcoming 14 night retirement cruise. My husband is disappointed they took away his favorite seafood eggs benedict breakfast. I told him to request it anyway. This is the old menu 😞

  4. An update on my bidding - Haven price dropped significantly for my upcoming 14 night cruise so I called my TA and booked one of the few Haven rooms left in a great location. I wanted the space of a living room (husband working onboard) so booked a 2 bedroom on deck 16 . Only 3 of these cabins were left so my chance of an upgrade was slim. It cost me a few hundred more than my current bid but now i can just focus on enjoying the trip and perks. Retirement cruise here I come 🙂

Thank you! I'm a longtime AMEX customer and didn't see it on my Gold card. (They keep trying to get me to upgrade to Platinum, but it doesn't make sense for me to upgrade.)

My 10/22 cruise is already fully paid for, so if we're not ready to book another cruise, is there a way to buy CruiseNext (or FCC or whatever) through NCL.com to take advantage of the offer?

I also have a gold but they gave me 150,000 am ex award points to convert. That gives me 2 round trip tickets to Hawaii 🙂

I have the Amex Everyday Blue Cash and I have the offer. It showed up yesterday. I'll be making good use of this offer. We have a British ilse Cruise booked for Oct 2023. Now if I could just get an offer for airfare.

When I clicked on offers at the bottom of the Amex app it was the first offer.

I chatted with amex. They said it is still being loaded on accounts.

Make sure you dbl check, if you are not familiar with the T&Cs - if you are and already know, just ignore me 😁

*Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member

*Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account

If you and your husband share an account and one of you is listed as an additional card holder, it may not work. Sounds like you need two separate accounts (which you may)

Strange i dont see it as an offer on my platinum acct.

My husband and I are booked on a 14 Night this month with 4 ports and 1 day of partial Panama Canal Transit.  I'm looking forward to the relaxing sea days.

We have another booked for next year 7 nights with 3 ports and will probably only get off at one.

I love sea days also but cancelling 2 ports 2 months prior vs canceling due to weather is B.S. We should have an option to receive a refund.

For folks bidding on balcony upgrades, do they offer upgrades to an aft balcony? We're in an aft balcony on our upcoming cruise and there are only 3 left (60 days until sailing). I was kind of hoping being in a room with more limited supply might give our Haven bids a better chance, but I've not seen anyone here talk about bidding on an aft balcony specifically so maybe it doesn't make a difference.

I believe I read that they do. I also have an aft hoping that it is a prime cabin so my chances will improve for Haven.

Booked for the Pride of America on November 19, 2022 with an extended balcony.  Have the opportunity to bid for the Penthouse Suite.

I noticed in many of the postings that people have stated the capacity of some of the NCL cruises have been at half occupancy or not 100%.  My cruise seems to be pretty well booked.(week of Thanksgiving) Is it worth bidding on? It's my 1st NCL Cruise, obviously upgrades are based on availability but?????      Any feedback would be appreciated.

sure- you have nothing to lose with the bidding. You never know nowadays with Covid variants and regulations constantly changing what may make people cancel...

It did on our upcoming November cruise.  We have bids on several different categories of Haven Suites.  We did not bid on the 2 bdrm suite or the forward facing suites because we have had those before and they were just 'eh and this week they dropped the minimum bid on those two categories....the 2 bdrm suite is nice...but almost NO balcony (so tiny)... and the forward facing suite, you cannot use your balcony while the ship is moving (I found that balcony to be pretty useless) and also, the front facing balcony, the wall is so high that you cannot see anything if you are sitting or lounging...you pretty much have to be standing at the rail for a view...

Our sailing is 11/28... the bidding closes 10/16... so I am hoping they will let us know early!!  I really don't care if we get a Haven or not.... we've already got an extended balcony mini suite and I'm good with that....

How do you know when the bidding closes? I didn't notice that on the site.

  12. We slept 6 in the 2 bedroom on the getaway with my  2 sons and 1 girlfriend and one buddy. 2 slept (couple)t in the small room no problem. One son (age 18 & 6foot tall) slept on couch and his buddy slept on floor with couch cushions laid out. It was tight but they had a ball. Kids don't care where they sleep when there's gummy bears and chocolates delivered 24/7 🙂

I’m annoyed we’re going on a Caribbean cruise but the first four days will be chilli because the ship has to go slow out of New York.  I expected it to be cold the first day or so but four slow sailing sea days out of New York in November isn’t good enough. We upgraded the free at sea to free at sea plus which gave us $100 per port towards excursions which we now lose.  We also purchased vibe passes which, due to the weather we won’t get the the same use out of due to 4 slow colder days  out at sea from New York. I know things change but we’ve all paid full price for a Caribbean cruise that now loses 2 port days and it isn’t going to be sunbathing weather on board the ship for the first 4 sea days.

Well if it's not cancelled, meet us in the hot tub in Vibe. We have lounged in the hot tubs onboard NCL when it was snowing out of NYC and it was pretty cool!

Nope. You need a reservation and seating is first-come-first-serve. On the Breakaway, Haven guests are seated first (via a crew entrance) before the main theater doors open for general seating. 0% of the Haven guests pre-seated use the Haven seating (which are mid-theater on the side). They all take seats in the center.  So,,, even if you waited in line and are the first people entering when the main theater doors open, you won't get the "best seats". Same is true for the Spiegel Tent.

I am asking about Sapphire Reserved seating. Not Haven.
