  1. Hi all. My family and I will be docking in Aruba for an overnight stay during our February 2018 Celebrity Reflection cruise. We have been looking at the Divi resort as a possible place to spend the night, but we have been hard pressed to find any info on one particular question that we have. After we check out of the resort, are we still able to use the resort amenities for the day (seeing as the ship doesn’t depart until 6pm)? Also, does anyone have any experience staying at this resort that they would like to share? Thanks in advance! [emoji16]

  2. That's really funny because I decided to call celebrity back last night and was told by the agent that the $20 pp covers the cost of the food and you can order whatever you like and however much of it. I explained that this was my second time calling in with this question and, with previously obtaining a different answer, wanted to be certain beyond a shadow of a doubt before I booked it. She put me on hold and came back within a couple minutes to verify the info she gave me. At this point she probably thought I was crazy because I asked if she was absolutely sure this was the case lol. I thanked her for her help and went ahead and booked it. I have high hopes, but I guess I will find out in due time [emoji16]

  3. I am hoping that, in being so close to sailing date, the price will drop a bit to fill cabins. I know that may be wishful thinking. I would need the price, and all other expenses incurred, to be comparable with what we would be spending to travel otherwise. I was/am content with our original travel plans...but once you throw a cruise into the mix, everything goes out the window! [emoji16]

  4. My spouse and I have vacation at the end of May and are planning on going to Japan. Just to play devil's advocate, I was searching yesterday morning for a cruise that would fit into our schedule. I found the May 28th sailing on the Summit going to Bermuda from NJ. An inside GTY was $665 CAD pp. For a brief moment I contemplated just booking it (but that was just the cruise fever I usually get when scouring cruise websites!). We spoke about it over dinner and agreed that if the price dropped a little more then we would seriously consider it. When I went to check back last night, the price had changed to $735!! I know not a huge difference, but is it normal - outside of supply and demand - for prices to change so rapidly?

  5. My family and I are booked on this cruise as well. We made the booking while on board the Reflection back in the second last week of January. When we returned home from the cruise, we enticed my in-laws to come along with us...only to find that there were only inside cabins left for purchase. They ended up taking an inside because they really want to be with us for this cruise. I am aware of the motorcycle group, but no other group. This will be the first cruise ever for my in-laws, so I hope that it is not canceled!!!

  6. To cruisemom42 (or anyone else for that matter), I am travelling on the NCL Epic at the end of May. I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the thought of foreign ports, mainly because of how expensive the shore excursions are through NCL. My family and I have discussed just venturing out on our own and, from reading some previous posts, I believe that this can be completely doable. Could you provide any insight as to what would be the easiest and most cost effective way to travel to Rome from Civitavecchia? Also, how close together are all the major attractions? If anything, I at least would like to see the Colosseum. I would love to take my mother into Rome with us, but she has mobility issues...she has to walk with a walker for extended periods of time. I don't know how accessible it would be to get her there? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated [emoji3]

  7. Thanks for your review. I am anticipating my Epic cruise this May! It's nice to see someone bring some positives to the table. Although, I do have a question. Are the beds on NCL not standard sized beds? You say you're only 5'4 and yet you couldn't fit on the bed?! If that's the case, I - at 6' - really have no hope lol!

  8. Hi all! I am so very excited to be doing my first Med cruise (in 96 short days!). A little nervous about foreign ports of call, but my excitement will surely override all of that. I have never been to Spain, Italy or France. Anyone care to share any info and/or tips? [emoji3]

  9. I am a consultant and was looking at my own booking system when I realized there were only inside cabins left. I checked X website just to be sure. I am not knocking being in an inside cabin, but this would be my mother in law's first cruise and I want to make sure she is comfortable. I will keep my fingers crossed in hopes that something opens up...

  10. Booked this cruise while onboard the Reflection a few weeks back. My mother in law and her spouse now want to join us on the cruise, so I went to search out a room for them and (to my surprise) only inside staterooms are left. What the heck is up with that?!? We are 11 months out and the cruise seems almost completely booked. Am I missing something here?

Also, the future cruise agent could not assign us 6pm seating in the MDR. Is it too early for assigned seating, or have we missed the boat (pun intended) on that as well?

  11. I was just explaining the lawn club grill to my mom (who will be coming along with us on this cruise). She seemed receptive to the idea but, then again, she is the one who is a stickler when it comes to having dinner in the MDR at the same time every evening. I am hoping to try lawn club...and Tuscan too!

  12. Hi all. My family and I will be doing our first X cruise aboard the Reflection in 18 short days! So excited, but I have a quick question. When I sign in to X's website and go to manage reservation it says that we have selected traditional dining - 6:00pm, which is correct. When I click on the "view" button beside it, it says 6:00pm - Unavailable and there is a button to click that says add to waitlist. So are we set for 6pm dining or not? I'm just a tad confused! Please help [emoji4]

  13. I don't think half the people on a cruise know the words "please" and "thank you"...or "excuse me" for that matter. On our last cruise my spouse, my son and I were checking out the photos at the gallery and this older woman - on a scooter no less - stops right behind where we were standing. After a few moments I asked "oh, do you need to get by?" And she replied "yes I do". I said "oh okay sorry we didn't know. Usually people say excuse me when they need to get by". She looked at me as if I had two heads lol!

  14. Seattleny.....the Splendor is in its own class, and the only one in its class. I believe it was meant for parent company Costa cruises, but was delivered to Carnival instead. I have no complaints about the crew. If anything, our cabin steward seemed, at times, that he was trying to be overly friendly. I always tend to find that the least friendly crew on the ship, and any ship for that matter, are the bar staff. It could be because I'm cheap and only spring for bottomless bubbles lol.
