  1. RTlady....American Table is now on the Splendor. I went to the Tandoor a couple times during the cruise. All I had was the roti though. The corn on the cob there looked and smelled really good, but I did not try it. I kept going back hoping they would be serving paneer, but they never did :( I also made my way up to the Rotisserie. There, I had the mac 'n' cheese and the tomato and mozzarella slices with pesto. Although there is no Guy's burgers, there is Off the Grill - which serves hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken and veggie burgers. I believe they also served nachos there as well. I had a veggie burger (as I don't eat meat) and it was pretty good. There was always a long line for the grill. I think I ate my weight in pizza...it was sooooooo good!!! I only ate from the lido buffet for breakfast and for lunch on embarkation day. Nothing really appeals to me there. My family went to the buffet for dinner on the night of the Sam Hunt concert. They said the food was decent. Why didn't I join them, you ask? I went to wait in line for seats for the concert. People started lining up before 6pm. The concert started at 8pm. That same night there was a Mega Deck party and the lido buffet served a late night Mexican fiesta. Surprisingly, the food was delicious. They had churros!

If there are any other questions, I am happy to answer :)

  2. @SMSACE6 I'm glad I'm not the only one lol! This was my 7th Carnival cruise and the first time feeling this way afterward. By the last night I was ready to go - mainly because I was missing my dogs at home. I even started packing up my suitcase earlier than usual.

  3. I looked at the deck plan right away and saw the locations of the rooms. It is okay that they are not side by side, but I am wondering if there is access to both rooms on the same side of the ship? The deck plan looks as if there is a corridor entrance to that string of interior rooms (1033 included) on only one side of the ship. Also, why are the two rooms different sizes? 1033 looks like a longer, thinner rectangle, while 1032 looks wider. Is there an actual difference?

  4. We had Faster to the Fun...so we were onboard about 11:30-11:45 (don't remember the exact time). I'm pretty sure this is the new way to obtain S&S cards. They said that your card would be in your mailbox when your room is ready, but as we walked down the hallway to our room we noticed that all the cards were already in the mailboxes. So nothing is really stopping someone from just sneaking by their room ahead of time to grab their card.

The one comedian was named Kenny Miller. The other guy was Brad...something (sorry I can't remember his last name). They were both ok and amusing - with Brad being the funnier of the two - but I kept thinking of my Breeze cruise 2 years ago when the comedian had me laughing so hard that my face hurt. I did not happen by the paino bar, but I can say that the piano player from the bar was the warm up for the 88 Keys show. He was really good!

The other thing I wanted to mention is that going through security at the port, they confiscated our clothes steamer. We have brought this on every single past cruise without an issue. The lady said that this was a new policy that came into effect 3 weeks ago. I assumed that we would be able to obtain it back after the cruise was finished, so I asked her where we could pick it back up and she replied "go put it in your car". We obviously didn't drive to the port, so that was out of the question. Anyone care to enlighten me on this *new* policy???

  5. Embarkation and debarkation went fairly smoothly. Yes, S&S cards were waiting in the mailboxes. Our room attendant, Bernardo, offered us twice a day service but we opted for evening only. I was surprised to learn that there was a playlist show every night, with the exception of the Sam Hunt concert. The shows were hit and miss...I really enjoyed 88 Keys and Epic Rock, but Studio VIP and 80's Pop to the Max were just meh. MDR was also a hit and miss when it came to food. Always found something to eat, but the menus seemed a little blah. The banana and white chocolate bread pudding was pretty tasty. Our waitstaff team was excellent! Went to the Punchliner for two shows. Both comedians were good, not great. Overalł we had a fun time, but something was definitely missing. I just can't figure out what it was....

  6. Hi everyone! My family and I will be sailing on the Reflection in January 2017. We have previously sailed Carnival and Princess, and we are really excited to give Celebrity a go! I logged in X's website last night to find that our GTY staterooms have been assigned. Can anyone provide me info on staterooms 1032 and 1033?

  7. After much debating, I have finally decided to book another cruise! Can't wait to be on the Splendor again...October 16th can't come soon enough!! Quick question though: it is a Carnival Live sailing (with Sam Hunt), and I'm wondering if the concert takes place on or off the ship? :)

  8. Would it be easy to contact royal caribbean tomorrow to change my booking if this sale is in my favour? I questioned the free Internet when I was speaking to a representative a few days ago on the phone and she informed me that it was only valid for sailings between may and september (I sail in october). I had noticed that promotion on the u.s.a site. I'm assuming the promotion starting tomorrow is different?

  9. Can someone please provide me some info on how these reservations are made? I have logged in to the royal Caribbean website and went to cruise planner, but it is telling me that my request cannot be processed. My mother (who will be traveling with us) likes to have a set time for dinner every night, so I would like to make as many reservations as I can so I can ensure that everything runs smoothly. Also, if I choose to use OBC for a dinner at a specialty restaurant, I assume I cannot make that reservation in advance - is this true? I am so excited to be on the Allure on 10/16/16!!!

  10. Hi everyone. I'm super excited to have just booked the Allure of the Seas (departing Ft. Lauderdale 10/16/16). As you may see in my signature, I have never been on Royal Caribbean. I'm going to immerse myself in research, but, in the meantime, if anyone would like to share any info or tips about the ship it would be greatly appreciated!

  11. I just wrote a detailed review of my time on the Glory last week and when I went to click on submit new thread it said my session had timed out and asked me to sign in again. I did so, but it deleted my review! I just spent the last hour collecting thoughts and typing it. I AM SO ANGRY!!!!

  12. Sitting by the main pool right now as we are docked in San Juan. For the most part, everything has been good. There have been a few minor hiccups but not letting them ruin the fun! I will have a detailed review when I get home. For now I'm going to enjoy a frosty drink!

  13. So I just checked out the weather for the ports we are visiting on the Glory next week and it's rain, rain, rain...oh and some lightning too!! Lucky us! I know forecasted weather changes all the time, and I'm hoping that it does. Won't let it ruin the cruise, but just a little bummed to see not so great weather right across the board. Crossing my fingers that the weather holds out for HMC, at least!
