2. Hopefully that will give everyone getting ready to leave on the Jade their "fix" before going.

Now on to my review of "our" events during the cruise.

Although I have never cruised with Norwegian, I thoroughly enjoy reading all of your awesome reviews. In fact, I look forward to them. I feel so fortunate that you cruise as often as you do and that you take the time to write such fun and detailed reviews. I appreciate your candor with pointing out both the good and the not so good about every ship (no matter which cruise line) you cruise on. I've only cruised with Carnival but may consider NCL for a future cruise after reading your reviews. Can't wait for the rest of this one and especially your Breeze review.

  3. Hello,

Am I correct in saying that if you only drink beer the Cheer package is not for you. 15 beers is easy to drink in a day when you are on vacation. Are there any just beer drinkers out there and do you get the package? Thanks,

    Dan :)

15 beers may be easy to drink in a day while on vacation, but I personally could not drink 15 beers a day for fourteen days straight. For me, Cheers wouldn't be worth it on this long of a cruise, but like I said, that's ME.

  4. OMG Mine calls nearly every time I log on. When I see the Miami FL # on caller ID I no longer answer unless I want to talk to her. I've told her I'm just browsing and assure her I'll call only her when I am ready to book.

Mine does the same. Every. Single. Time. I can't even click thru on the emails I get from Carnival to see what special rates are being offered without getting that call the next day. I've stopped answering me phone when he calls. When I'm ready to book, my PVP will be the first person I call.

  5. I could tell from the description of the dog and the pictures posted that this was just a couple that purchased "service dog" credential on a website just so they could bring their precious little Fifi with them. Why would the dog have to be with them at dinner? Couldn't the wife tell if her husband was having an attack? Or the other people at the table? It's people like this that make it hard for people that really require properly trained service dogs.

Where are the pictures of the dog posted?

  6. Hello all I was wondering something. Does your picture pop up on the computer when the bar scans your card? The reason I am asking is me and my children are staying in a cabin my kids are all under 21. My parents are staying in another. I do not drink nor does my mother so paying for 2 people seems silly when I can pay for 1 and essentially allow my father to use it. So my question is what are the identifiers on the system? Is it just a sticker or is there more?

    Thanks in advance for help

Yes, when they slide your card in the computer, your photo appears on their screen.

  7. My husband and I finally tried a new cruise line. We sailed out of Boston on September 4th on the Norwegian Dawn to Bermuda. We loved it! I really love Freestyle dining. I have been on 13 Carnival cruises and, frankly, I have become bored with the Carnival experience. We put down deposits for two more NCL cruises while we were still on the ship. We will be back on Carnival someday, but not for awhile.

I've never sailed on NCL but I always see posts that everyone loves "freestyle" cruising/dining. What exactly does freestyle cruising mean?

  8. DADDY’S TOWEL ANIMAL TOWEL

Mommy, daddy, and I attended “towel-folding fun” which took place at 10am on our final sea day. This time, instead of doing this with my towels like I did on the Freedom...

...I decided to focus and learn something I can add to my resume. Mom wanted to be my “partner,” but she just got in the way, so I asked her to please sit quietly and watch.

    Here’s my towel animal elephant:

It’s supposed to look like this:

But not bad for a first try.

    Here’s what daddy made:

Although a little advanced for mommy, we all had fun and really have a new appreciation for our room stewards.

Thoroughly enjoyed your entire review, but especially this post about the towel animal class! Made me actually laugh out loud!

Awesome and hilarious writing through the eyes of a two year old!

    Thanks for sharing.

  9.
Or possibly $804.30 for a 7 day cruise.

    $800, $1600 or $1800 for booze consumption?

I would rather have a new Coach purse, or hubby a new watch...
Or another cruise......

  10. Seriously 7 drinks from the Alchemy Bar and WHAM you're there. Even on shore days, Get up, Mimosa or Bloody Mary with breakfast, get off for a while, get back around 3-4PM, and that leaves at least 7 hours until bedtime, which only leaves me 2 drinks per hour. Seems to be a pretty good money saver for us! NEVER tried it, but seems to be the way to go!

Although the Alchemy Bar is hands down the best bar on the ship, I think attempting 7 drinks from there is questionable. First of all, they don't open until 5 and they close at midnight, so unless you get there right when they open and stay until they close, it would be difficult to get that many drinks. Also the Alchemy is so crowded it sometimes takes a while to get service. Finally, the drinks from Alchemy are stronger than the other drinks they serve on the ship and if I drank 7 of them, I wouldn't even be able to walk back to my room. I certainly couldn't imagine doing this every night of the cruise.

I did have Cheers on my Liberty cruise in September when it was $37.50 per day and quite honestly, after about day 4, I was tired of drinking that much just to break even. I'm glad I did it when it was the lower price but I don't think I'd do it again. For me, it didn't seem worth the cost. I would never drink 15 drinks in one day at home and even if I tried, I don't think I could do it on vacation either.

  11. We have an interior on the Carnival Dream June of next year on the Lido deck. Has anyone ever had a cabin on this deck that maybe able to let me know the pros and cons if there are any. We may switch to a balcony down the road if they have a great sale as it gets closer, but as of now they only have 12 balcony's left on the lido deck for that cruise.

    Thanks in advance.

I was in an interior Lido deck cabin on the Dream. The best thing about this cabin: location, location, location!!!! After being on Lido, I don't like settling for any other deck! I don't spend much time in my room other than sleeping, so I have no cons to share about an interior room. The only way I'd switch rooms would be for another room on Lido.

  12. I purchased Cheers on my 8 day Liberty cruise (September 13 sailing) at the 37.50 price. We had three sea days and I certainly thought I'd come out ahead buying Cheers. The most I drank in one day was 7 drinks and that was only one day. No way did I come anywhere near fifteen drinks, nor did I want to. Quite honestly, by about the fourth or fifth day of the cruise, I didn't even feel like drinking that much anymore, but I did because I felt like I had to at least break even. I was able to try drinks that I wouldn't have otherwise tried. I'm glad I tried the Cheers program when it was the lower price, but I don't think I'd do it again.

  13. Don't worry....it will be already loaded on the account you designated when you board the ship. You can double check it on the TV in your room. There will also be notices in your room on embarkation day. I've done this several times and it's always worked without a hitch. Carnival is on the ball with this.

  14. What is a "guarantee room" and how do I book one? I've seen several posts on CC referencing guarantee rooms, but when I try booking a future cruise, I don't have an option for a guarantee room. It seems like those bookings are quite a savings from what I'm offered as a past guest. I'm not even offered the option of letting Carnival choose my room (I used to have that option when booking) to save $$. Thanks for any info.

  15. I always buy the Cruise Cash. Like others have said, it's like prepaying for Cheers. I have never had an issue with the $$ showing up on my account. It is always on my S&S account when I board the ship. I know some prefer the gift cards, but the cruise cash has always worked for me. One less thing for me to do when I board the ship, plus I don't have to worry about forgetting gift cards at home!
