  1. We are only doing LA to Brisbane so not sure about those doing the full cruise but for us we will be going from platinum to emerald during the cruise but our status will only change after the cruise.
  2. It turned out to be a good day in Auckland. Cloudy with a few sunny breaks until mid afternoon. Then the rain came… But it was nice to be back in Auckland. We visited Auckland and New Zealand about 10 years ago. Here are a few photos of our walk around Auckland today.
  3. Yes we crossed it during the night of Feb 29, woke up March 2. We are now Sunday March 3 afternoon.
  4. Day 5 at sea. Tomorrow we are in Auckland, NZ. Lots of clouds and wind. Deck 12 closed again. The solarium should be busy today.
  5. Sunset around 7:16 pm today. Watched it go down but did not see a green flash.
  6. Day 4 of 5 sea days until we arrive in New Zealand. We crossed the international date line last night so we are now Saturday March 2. Beautiful sunny day but lots of wind.
  7. The solarium is always busy. But some days it was too hot and steamy in there! It was suffocating. Then they started putting more AC and it was nice and cool.
  8. Day 3 of 5 sea days. Hot and very humid today. Tonight we will cross the international date line and skip one day. We will wake up March 2 tomorrow. Deck 5 is never busy. We like to walk there when it’s too hot on deck 12 (or when it’s closed “due to weather” which is often the case). We also like to sit and read there (not as hot as on our balcony which has the afternoon sun). But we are often alone…
  9. For those of you going on the immersive Africa segment, if you are looking for excursions I have suggestions. We were on a cruise that stopped in Port Elizabeth a few years ago and we went to Aldo Elephant Park. We did a ship tour but lots of passengers either rented a car and went on their own or booked a private tour. It’s about 30 min from the port (if my memory is correct). We were 3 days in Cape Town and used the first 2 days to go to Aquila Private Game Reserve. This was a private tour organized by someone on cc. The ship had a tour to Aquila but they were going there and back in the same day. Which meant a long drive there, just one game drive in the middle of the day when the animals are not very active and then a long drive back. By staying overnight we had one game drive at the end of the first afternoon until sundown and then another one early the next morning before breakfast. Both of these experiences were amazing so if you have a chance to go to either one of these I would recommend you do it.
  10. Day 2 of 5 sea days on our way to New Zealand. Nice and sunny today but a bit more wind.
  11. The sunset just keep getting better and better! And earlier since we went back one hour again last night.
  12. We only saw one when we walked the waterfront around 5 pm. Don’t know if more arrived later.
  13. Gorgeous day at sea today. Warm and very little wind. Calm seas. First of 5 sea days en route to New Zealand.
  14. The captain just announced that option 1 was chosen, immersive Africa. People are cheering!
  15. Nice day in Papeete. We went snorkeling and later on we walked around Papeete. Not as beautiful as Moorea but still very nice. Moorea Papeete not as many fish as Moorea but the water was wonderful.
