I figured it out.
You don't get the discount by "logging in". There is a link to click: "See if you qualify for exclusive rates."
If you don't click and then fill in your C&A number, you won't see the discount.
🙂
That worked, thank you, Merion-Mom!

Which week?
Oct. third.

I just did a mock booking for a cruise on Symphony in Oct, 2020. I did one booking logged in and another logged out. There were no differences in price. We are Diamond and we're booking a balcony, why isn't either discount showing?

Cooler does not get as cold as a fridge, though I read that the coolers on the newer ships do better.
Been on Monarch, Majesty, Navigator, Voyager, Oasis and Harmony. All of them had refrigerators in them, not coolers. They kept our bottled water ice cold. We've been on Viking Serenade twice but I don't really remember any type of cooler/fridge in the cabin.

Been sailing RC for 25 plus years. Say what you will about the drink prices, but I have never had a weak drink on any Royal ship.

Does one have to purchase an internet package to use the app on board?

The reviews of tours I’ve read make it sound like they spend a lot of time in the galley and not much time in the other areas. I seem to be in the minority but that is a big price to pay for a tour of what really amounts to a commercial kitchen.
Yes, a lot of time was spent in the galley, however, there is a lot to see, there. For example, I did not know that the wait staff has access to a full bar located in the galley and are capable of making their own drinks for the diners.

Weird! We did this tour on Symphony, including I-95, and saw no crew members smoking at all...
Symphony may be different. I don't know the specifics of smoking/non smoking zones below deck 4 but we could not escape the smoke, especially in the corridor, it was bad.
-
We did the tour on Harmony. Took almost 4 hours. Pants have to be worn, don't know why. Probably because you'll be taken down into the ship's refrigeration storage and it's pretty cold down there. We got to see the Kitchen, prep areas, engine control room, crews quarters, crew mess, crew bar, food storage, laundry, recycling system and the bridge. I think it was well worth the money. Keep in mind, you'll be searched (scanned) probably twice before you get to the bridge.
Also, the main crew corridor down below (they call it I-95) is a full-on crew smoking area. You'll be spending a lot of time down there so if cigarette smoke is bothersome to you, I wouldn't book it. Had I known this before hand, I would not have gone. There should be a warning about this before one books it. All-in-all, though, it was interesting.

Just looked myself and it's still $47.00, although it went down from $52 a few days ago. Must...keep....checking....
Yea, it depends on the ship and the itinerary.

On our upcoming 7 night cruise, the package is $47.00 per person. This is the lowest I have EVER seen it on any cruise I've been on, probably going to take it. I also saw on another thread about drink packages that the price could go down into the 30's (high 30's at that). So that makes it even more affordable.
I see it on Royal right now for $44

If I understood your question correctly, you cannot get a cocktail at all on the refreshment package.
-
I was led to believe it was a mechanical failure, so that would put liability on NCL.

My Wife's a major germaphobe. I guess it's rubbed off me a little. We have both vowed not to step foot in the Windjammer for a meal.

Next time you're in the Windjammer, take a look around and see if you can notice the dozens of passengers coughing and hacking into their hand, and then touching all of the serving spoons. It's an ongoing problem. The most vile part of the entire ship is right there on that serving spoon.

I love tee-shirts and shorts. I don't cut in front of anyone, and I always wait until those that need to exit the elevator do so, before I go in. In fact, I am usually verbal to the ones that don't. Also... I can afford as many cruises as I want.
So much for your theory.
I said "with a broad stroke". Never said I was covering the entire canvas.

People or all wage grids are spending more than they are making. It isn’t statistics, it’s a reality. Gasp, some in fancy clothing might even be running up their credit card debt load to look better.
As for rude people, they are everywhere and wear everything.
No argument, there.

Yes, I painted with a pretty broad stroke. Deserving, though. After all, it is statistics. I don't have the exact numbers but it's extremely high, the number of passengers on a cruise ship that are spending money they don't have. Again, with a very broad stroke of my brush, these are the same people wearing shorts and tee-shirts in the MDR and being rude and inconsiderate to fellow passengers. Never used to be that way.
-
It's not just the dress code. It's the entitlement attitudes of these exact same people who are on a cruise they probably can't afford anyway. Do the tee-shirts and shorts bother me in the MDR? Of course they do because these are the same people that are going to be cutting in front of me in line and bursting onto an elevator before anybody gets off. These will be the most inconsiderate passengers on the ship, you'll see.

Yes, I remember. When you stepped aboard the ship, there was no question that you were an honored and valued guest, and you were treated as such. Now, you're just a paying customer, nothing more. I remember when cruising was a bit of a "high brow" affair. Nowadays, the ships are filled with all kinds of rude, disrespectful people with no regard for other passengers. I've never seen so much "trailer trash" on a ship in my life. I'm sure it's not just Royal.
Disappointing. The sad part is, it will never change.

Weird. I did 9 night Navigator in April of this year and wore shorts to Chops, Izumi, and Sabor. I think I only wore pants 1 or 2 nights for dinner time. Your profile says Coral Springs; I am a few minutes up the road - nice shorts are year round here; I only wear pants for paychecks.
Hello, neighbor. Yea, I was stunned as well, but I wasn't about to stand there and argue with the hostess. I did quickly glance around and didn't see anybody else in shorts, either. Oh well.

Those shorts were probably not nice shorts.
They were Tommy Bahama dress shorts. They were as nice as shorts get. They just didn't allow shorts, period.
What is my Diamond/Balcony discount?

We're already booked, I'm just keeping an eye on price reductions. This will complete our Oasis class sailings, also.
