  1. Thanks all for the input.

we will go with it and if we need to skip off early we will do.

I emailed the tour company directly and they said no worries we would be fine for time, so all good I think!

I would prefer if it were an excursion royal offered so I could be sure but hey ho!

  2. Hi All

I appreciate there are lots of threads which mention this excursion and I have tried trawlling through but can’t find the info I need so wondered if anyone can help please

We have booked this for an upcoming trip - we are in port 8am - 6pm.

Amazing race have confirmed the meet time as 12.15 (local time) I *think* the ship will be 1 hr behind (meaning departure 5pm local time and likely 4pm/4.30pm all aboard local time)

I absolutely may be wrong here, but all that considered it seems too tight - anyone have any experience?

    Thank you

  3. At the moment the US travel agent price is identical to the Royal Caribbean web site. The problem is when I google US travel agents there are so many to choose from!!! And a lot seem to use the same format booking forms.

I am in the UK and use a US TA it is great to access the US booking conditions my upcoming cruise I’ve had near on $2500 reductions from booking to final payment.

I know we can’t name but they are a company who have a Freephone number to use when dialling from the UK (also a bonus) try searching that

  4. Guess what !! Also on my upcoming Allure sailing. I wouldn't even go see Mama Mia ! when it was free. I SURE as he** won't be going for $79 PP.

What a slap in the face.

Same just showed up on my Allure trip for May. We had already made reservations for one of the nights which is now bookable for the upchargw, haven’t received a cancellation message. Interestingly we are in a suite so wonder how that will work - will these shows still have the reserved suite seating or is that the area they will be using for the upcharge...??

  5. My Mom is a bit crazy.. in a good way. She is 70 and still loves a good roller coaster. We're going to be on the Valor December 2. She saw the picture for the twister boat for the all inclusive Isla Pasion by twister. She isn't interested in spending the day at the beach. She just wants to ride the boat. Does anyone know of there is a boat ride only excursion around? 5255d40dec3f31e8dc66dd0d1fad940a.jpg

Hey did you manage to find out any more on this?

We had the boat only booked through the cruise line 2 years ago but it was cancelled due to waves...it is no longer offered as an excursion so I have been looking around to book direct, like you the only option I can find is the beach combo which I don’t want..

I’d appreciate the info if you managed to find anything

    Thanks!

  6. It totally depends on what part of the Everglades you go to. Be very careful with typical airboat tours, especially Holiday Park or Sawgrass Recreation. They are not anywhere near the real Everglades. We learned this the hard way. We took a Holiday Park tour and we were so disappointed. We really had hopes of experiencing the actual National Park. I did a google search and found a company that specializes in authentic Everglades with an actual biologist. It was amazing. We learned so much! We took our tour from Fort Lauderdale. The company was called Wild Lime Adventures. I can't remember the guides name but he was amazing!

Thanks so much that's great info!

How long was the journey from Fort Lauderdale to the actual park for the tour to start?

  7. Thanks both very much for the replies.

It's not til next April so all good.

I've been to Miami and Fort Lauderdale a few times, so happy with knowing both areas some, it's just specifically the Everglades part that's got me stumped with its actual location for tours.

I was planning arrive MIA travel straight to FLauderdale or Hollywood for 2 nights, do Everglades tour, then cruise, leave cruise head straight back down to Miami 2 nights.

Actually seems like I'm better to take Everglades from Miami though - that's what I wanted to check

  8. Hi all

I am flying in to Miami for a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, planning 2 nights either side of the cruise - 2 nights in Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood Beach and the other 2 in Miami.

I really want to do an Everglades boat tour as have never been, so my question is which of these 3 locations is the best to do it from with minimum travel time...

I've been researching and it seems if I travel up to FL and take the tour from there I'm heading pretty much back down towards Miami...is that right?

    Thanks for any advice

  9. I'm really interested to see how if at all this affects the UK site £s pricing in comparison to US site since there can be no such incentive to UK as non refundable/no price drops is already in place.

I guess for the time being they'll continue with add ons as the UK promotions to hook you in - currently up to $1000 OBC, often drinks packages.

Interesting as well that this week they have started offering packages on the U.K. site with cruise + virgin Atlantic flights + hotels.

Since so many brits are used to booking 'package' holidays they have decided to offer it all up one price.

  10. Hi

We are from the UK also, on our last cruise my intention was to use VPN to be able to access online betting accounts and Sky Go for grand National - I downloaded one called Betternet, but no joy it just wouldn't connect to the VPN at all over wifi (we were on Navigator and was an at sea day).

The other option suggested to us was an app called UKTVNow, it's a free download, I thought no way. But it worked perfectly we watched the Grand National and numerous football matches, it buffered slightly every now and then but was definitely watchable - give that a try

  11. This will be our first time cruising the Mediterranean. We have two children and are looking for things to do at these ports or near to them. We would prefer not to be in big crowds in the tourist areas. Any info would be much appreciated.

    Are taxis affordable, safe reliable?

    Thanks

I have been to all 3 many times - cruise stops or otherwise.

All are great places with lots of options.

Naples gets a bad rep - actually it's beautiful if you go to the right areas!

Walk off the ship to the left is the hydrofoil terminal where my recommendation would be head to Capri its wonderful. There is a funicular train to the top and once you get up there there is a cable car ride or a little trolley tour. (Tip - when you see the line for the funicular keep walking - you have to buy a ticket at the booth further along, otherwise you'll queue up and then they will send you back - the signs there don't make that clear)

Or if you want a beach day head to Sorrento from the same place.

If you take hydrofoil to either only book one way, return isn't any cheaper and you limit yourself to the time slots available with that company for coming back - there are a few, so just buy your return when you're ready to leave and get which ever one is next

If you want to stay in Naples the HOHO is a good way to look around - main station is very close to the port also.

Or head past the hydrofoil terminals keep following the road around and there is a promenade walk which follows the coast round with a castle there too which is free to walk around and loads of bars restaurants and ice cream shops all the way along.

If your kids are old enough our last time in Marseille we did a Segway tour which was an awesome few hours and get to see pretty much everything.

For Nice if it's a one time thing for you I'd head over to Monaco - walk around check out the yachts, follow part of the road which is the Grand Prix track.

Alternatively if you want a beach day head for St Tropez.

All 3 are very safe. You'll hear some stories of pick pockets etc in Naples just don't walk through the back of town in to the small alley ways - like any major city just be wary. public transport is reliable and cheap.

    Have fun!!
