Just wondering, WHEN did everyone whose price has gone up, book?

My price has only increased since I booked my cruise too. I booked mine this past Thanksgiving weekend.

 

Just wondering if certain times have better prices.

I only booked mine 3 weeks ago..... !

I got a price drop on 3 of my cruises. I haven't checked them all yet.

Hi all, just an FYI. I booked a suite 3 weeks ago, and check pricing every few days as final payment not due until July. As I’m sure many of you do too.

This latest “Sale” actually shows an increase in pricing of my same suite category/date etc of $1000!

Such an increase in just 3 weeks.....WOW indeed. Eeeeek. So glad I booked when I did. Just wanted to give you all a heads up Incase needed.

We took cash, but if you can’t get cash or add the tips at GS go to the casino. Just add 5% fee to it at the casino.

Just an FYI of my experience recently......

A few weeks back I booked an OS and paid deposit of $500. Then 4 days later due to a work conflict, I found out I had to change the sailing week from 4/15 to 4/29. Also upgraded to the 2BR ATS.

I was just charged the $100 change fee and the deposit was transferred over to the new sail date. Does this help?

Lets get back on track... who cares about others finances, it’s personal so we shouldn’t be discussing imho.

The purpose of this thread I started is to alert anyone who was due their final payment this w/end, to check before they pay off balance with the possibility that they could be as fortunate as I was yesterday getting a lower price adjustment, and I was also hoping to hear if anyone else was lucky, ie, like Ocean boy was. . Good luck everyone. ☘️

Nice reminder thread. Final payment is due today for an upcoming cruise on Freedom. Moved from an ocean view to a D3 and saved $198 along the way. Nice start to the day.:)

Oh great! That makes me very happy that someone else has benefited like me prior to final payment this w/end. That was why I thought to start the thread in the hopes that others could also get a lower price like I did. Brilliant!! 👍😁

I of course realize that....but find it so much easier to call to have my balance reduced when I see the pricing fall on my cruise up until final payment date. Which is why I wait until final payment "due date". No reason to pay it off early that I can see.

 

Easier to ask for the reduction than beg for a refund. ;)

Congratulations! If your price drops can can you get that adjusted. Or do they have to reprice at current sale and I will lose my obc.

Not sure how it all works as my final invoice with updated pricing was different, except the port taxes. My discounts from original booking had changed too. So must have been from current sale.....OBC was only $100 and current sale is the same (which was the lowest ever, on RCCL) so if I lose that it won’t be a big deal. It’s still showing on final invoice tho.

If I pay my cruise off before the final payment due date and the price drops before the due date do I get a reduction in price?

Good to hear that you will be ok if you do pay full in advance. I would have been nervous to do that but then I usually wait until the last minute to pay full amount due, and hold back on that credit card interest as long as I can, haha

Hello All. We're actually in 8330 starting tomorrow (1/28). We've been in contact with Smitha for a little over 2 weeks now. She's been very responsive with emails so far. We're really excited.

 

I can't promise I'll keep up with it during the cruise, but I'll definitely remember to update this thread after (or at least include a link if I do a full review).

 

For reference, we are 3 Adults, 4 kids (10, 9, 3 and 2). Found a nice Kids Sail Free sale so those 4 were a whopping 127pp (taxes, port fees, ins)

Oh my gosh! Have a fabulous time and please please let me/ us all know how the trip is going and how the Star class and Genie experience weigh up. Excited for you!

I don’t think so, I certainly wouldn’t take that chance and would wait until 1-2 days before final due, that’s what I did. Once you have made full payment, I believe that’s it.

Price drop is great but sharing this experience with your mom is priceless. Have a wonderful trip.

Yes I have. Some wouldn't spend the time looking everyday. I did for over a yr watching prices. Right before final I got a 2bd/2bath all to myself of the Serenade 12 nite BOS/FLL Repo. Was actually $350 cheaper then a D1. To OP Congrats!

So happy for you. Enjoy the cruise with your Mom. We've only had a decrease on ONE cruise in all these years. It was a cruise to Hawaii on RC MANY years ago.

It’s a first for me, out of many cruises, especially when I was so worried splurging so much, but then a “priceless” reason, as with my elderly (although very energetic) mother, and likely her last cruise with me, so this is super special and worth every cent.

I just looked at final invoice and it was actually $600 less! Wow.

Wanted to share with you all that I was about to make mine today, but decided to ask one last time, re any price changes. Checked every day this past week and nothing, but.......today!

Just received $400 decrease in price originally paid, so my balance less $400 was a sweet surprise for my beautiful suite! 2BR ATS.

We have 10330. It was the only one available when we booked last spring. 8330 opened up, but was a HUGE cost increase. We got a very good deal.

I wonder if the genies are assigned 2 x port side star class suites, and 2x starboard sides SC suites?

I am on starboard side, so still not hearing about that yet, lol

We are in a 2 BR ATS next month and heard from Joyce 2 weeks ago. I wasn't expecting anything that early. We already have all the dinners and shows set.

I suppose with hundreds of people calling RCL at any given moment, inventory can change over quickly. We figure that we just got super lucky having called soon after someone canceled or changed cabins.

 

We've never been to Labadee yet, just CocoCay (Bermuda itinerary) so I'm looking forward to it. Still debating whether it's worth a cabana or not. Perhaps silly question considering how much we all paid for these suites. :) We've been to Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, and Cozumel on previous Celebrity sailings so we'll probably just walk around a bit when we get to the other ports this trip.

You sure did get lucky, that’s the best/largest of all 6 2BR ATS.. congrats!

I totally think that with such a high cost suite that it should absolutely include a cabana at Labadee. Don’t roast me everyone, just my 2c.

I paid for one last year when in a GS, I think it was $250? and this year it’s around $400 I think? Worth it if a group and you can share, not so sure if only 2 of you. It is lovely to have tho, and very comfortable.

Bear in mind the original $8 water mats are now $19.99 each to rent! All included if you have a cabana.

I usually head to Nachicocom in Cozumel. Another day of total relaxation and a beautiful beach/pool area.

I wonder if "only one left" is part of the rep's script because when we booked they told us that 8330 was the only one left! We're on the 4/22 sailing. We were willing to take any itinerary in April and would have actually preferred the Falmouth and Cozumel instead but the only ones with any availability was the 4/8 and 4/22 sailings with St. Maarten and Puerto Rico.

I actually only checked the western itinerary as I know the eastern ports are still suffering, and like you I much prefer Cozumel and Labadee, but yes, often I hear “only one left” although when I first looked online there was only deck 10, then I called in 10m later to check on pricing with my D+ discounts etc, and was told only one left on deck 9. weird.

Now I want to know how you got 8330...lol I only booked last week for April and just one on deck 9 left... usually deck 10 is all that is left with much smaller balcony....... not complaining of course, most happy with what I have for sure!!! 🎈🎉😁 but just know 8330 has slightly larger balcony.

We are on Oasis in ATS 8330 on Feb 17. We heard from our genie Smitha a few days ago already!! We have a schedule from her for all dining and shows. Really happy with the service and response so far!! We had Reyno as a genie on Harmony in the same room last year and it was not the experience we were hoping for. This time things are starting out much better so we are super excited!!
