  1. Some people tend to be a bit overboard- almost geting hysteric about catching this and that. Washing hands often- washing hands after useing the bathroom should be common sense, since we learned that as kids, all right and good. One does everything to avoid getting infected, but IMO the worst is to be afraid of everything. I agree with forecten- rubber gloves would really be to much - as for shakeing hands- well even the captain avoids doing so sometimes.

It is a proven fact that all those spreading allergies and such are due to overdone , hysteric hygiene levels- so some people just can´t built their own self defence system.

  2. I also loved their webcams- so nice to see realtives in the computer room and of course the bridge cams. I understand those in the computer rooms ( now Martini Bar on M- Class ships) may have interfered with the privacy of the passengers, but they could have put the bridge cams back on!

  3. All said - I sailed Cunard three times and wore always exactly the same as on board Celebrity ships- evening it is always a jacket- that´s right. All in all it makes for a nice elegant cruise experience! I love Cunard´s ships! Those wrap around prommenade decks alone are worth sailing with them! LOL!

  4. Also a tip of the hat for the OP- I agree- and I find you should foreward this post or transfer it into a mail to Captains Club- regardless what you spend on board, as Elite plus you have spend a whole lot of money with them and so you earned all the benefits that comes with Elite plus and should be more than threated like loyal customer. We run a few coffee shops here in germany and when we have a customer who spends money every day on coffee and maybe someting else - but not much more- we are more than happy to have him - EVERY DAY! That is what counts!

  5. Even with all the " ajustments" the " X " Brand made over the years one still get´s a hell of lot for the money spend in my opinion! Luxury is a word that also get´s " ajusted " over the years. What once was a " luxury" is nowadays the common thing we are used too. If you want real , over the top luxury- well one has to pay for it!

I still have my problems with the loud music- but that seems to be taken care of from the Miami Headquaters, so I will so for myself in a month!

As for these drinking packages- I sure am not a penny pincher but one pays the tip in advance when you buy the package- so when I am satisfied with a bar tender, waiter etc. I tip a little extra at the end of the cruise, I never would have to schlepp these many Dollar Bills around!

  6. I have to agree- loud music- well I can´t really remember how often I complained about that rather stupid idea, which obviously came from the headquaters in Miami. Then the packages- I usualy take just the classic one- since I am not a big alcohol drinker! My one Martini every evening is not enough to compensate the cost. I too found some bartenders, waiters who saw the classic package sign were not overly happy and some almost rude! Others could not have been more friendly or attentive ( esp. in All Baccio) ! I moved to Cunard and had an experience as with X ten or so years ago, much more costly of course...! I am back on Infiniy in a few weeks, so I will see how X is doing after almost 1,5 years. Also I am trying RCCI again for a change.

  7. I just forgot- I highly recommend Cunard, if one want´s a nice an quite cruise experience, with wonderful music and one is still able to make a nice conversation. After my Eclipse cruise with all the loud music around the whole ship- I moved to Cunard for a change- and loved it. Since I really like the X- experience and their ships and the service and the absolutly friendly staff I give it another try in a few weeks time! Nothing against the friendyness of the Cunard staff and such- but Cuanrd ships are not always were I want them to be. LOL!

  8. I have absolutley to agree with the OP- I had the same, the exactly same experience on board Eclipse a year ago. Loud music everywhere, in the Atrium- the band wouldn´t have been so bad, but it was just by far to loud! Also around the pool, not a quite spot on the whole of the ship. After all I hear or better read here on cruise critic, that the problem seemed a bit better- if its for the worse- I will surly go back to Cunard for good!

  9. jimdalva- I found it not tasteless- I could have written just the same. I find the whole nudiest idea- tasteless- and absolutly a no go on crusie ships or hotels for that matter - it may be okay at a special staked beach area. One can just hope they obey the " towel rule" - I really , really feel sorry for the staff members.

Just picture it ( or maybe better not) a formal night on a " usual gala evening on usual cruise" - can you see ( with your inner eye of course) all those nice dressed passengers, some even dressed up to nines. And- change of scene- picture all of them without any clothing??!!!! Oh dear call me old fashioned - but I can´t help it!

  10. Great pictures - and they give the exact impression of that ( almost) nonexitend prommenade deck. So I also prefer the Milli Class over the Solstice Class- well to be fair Solstice Class ships also have great outdoor areas on the higher up decks. Solstice Deck for example or the whole lawn area!

  11. When you sailed Oasis and loved it- maybe- just maybe you will feel on board Vision like you ended up in a liveboat of the Oasis and not to forget Vision is about 16 years old now. I sailed Vision twice in her inaugural year and the following. Loved it! Unbelievable now but Vision Class Ships were considered as Megaships back then. I love that size of ship and Vision lot´s and lot´s of glas and so you are on every twist and turn connected with sea.

I never sailed Oasis- just to big and so many lounges and bars are indoors with no view at all!
