  1. I am in Europe now. Prior to boarding a river cruise I spent 2 days in Amsterdam. Having been there before, I can honestly say I didn't see anything different than the last time. I was approached by someone who asked in English if I knew where there was a place for the homeless. I had seen a youth hostel so directed him there. I realized after he was probably a refugee as there were a couple of things that made me think so.

I will be returning to Canada on Wednesday and back to the UK on dec. 21. I wouldn't hesitate to travel Europe whether by land or sea.

  2. Royal will not talk to you at all. If the OBC that was removed came from the TA you need to find out why from them. I'm assuming you are dealing with a large OTA and don't get the same person each time you call. If you have proof they offered it you will need to go after them. You can't cancel now without losing it all. At this point, you need to go over all your paperwork and try to find if there is something in the fine print.

  3. No I mean that when they do the booking in their name (the only name given at the pricing stage other is just passenger 2) - there is no discount even with their C and A number

When I do it with my name and passenger 2 no C and A number - I get the same price as they get but when I add my C and A I get $400 off the total for 2 passengers.

I understand that with both passengers listed and both C AND A numbers given that we will only get one discount off - but it only happens if I am lead and put in my C and A number

The problem is its my MIL that want to book and she appears to get no discount even although she sailed the same cruise as me and has the same points - PS I have no other discount boxes ticked (as none apply)

This does sound like there is an issue. I would call C&A. You don't want to book and then have them take the discount away down the road. Better to know upfront.

  4. Whatever it is, if he was denied and Royal is giving him a full refund, you can rest assured that it was a mistake on their end. They dont just give refunds out like candy that close to boarding day.

    That isn't necessarily true.

  5. Maybe they will be more accommodating since they are the ones canceling the cruise. If not, their loss. After our Eclipse cruise last winter, Celebrity was at the top of our list but if this cruise does get canceled, they will do some sliding down the ladder!

They will not transfer to either Azamara or RCCL. They are owned by the same parent company and the recognize position within their loyalty levels but that's as far as it goes.
