  1. I would choose the 2 days in Cabo over a stop in Mazatlan, especially since the State Dept has issued a travel advisory for the Mexican state of Sinaloa, where Mazatlan is located.

Edit ro add: We are on the 2/24 sailing, which includes Mazatlan, only for schedule/price reasons. We plan to stay on the ship in Mazatlan though.

  2. We will be getting off Splendor on 3/3 and have a 3:30 flight out of LGB airport. I'm looking for ideas as to what we could do for a few hours before heading to the airport. I know I've seen the aquarium suggested on here numerous times, but my wife isn't crazy about spending $78 for the 3 of us to visit the aquarium for a few hours. It will be me, my wife and our 6 year old daughter, and we will have all of our luggage and no car.

  3. Just curious, why would you not want to carry a can to dinner with you? How is it any different than carrying a can to lido or a show or the comedy club? I've always seen people carrying soda with them to dinner, including ourselves.

I always thought going to the MDR was like going to a nice restaurant. Do you bring a can of soda with you to a restaurant at home?

  4. So when I get off delta, do I go downstairs to the train and find my terminal and then when I get off the train, go up the escalators to find my terminal again.

Do check the monitors (or the app on your phone) before heading to the train. There is always a chance your next flight will be in the same concourse, in which case, you won't need the train.

  5. If you're looking at economy then product wise I think there's not much to choose from between airlines in the cheap seats.

Never flown either of these airlines, but just looking at seat maps on seatguru, Air Tahiti flights are on the A340, with 2-4-2 seating in economy, 18' seat width, 33" pitch. AF uses a 3-4-3 configured 777, 17" width, 32" pitch. I would never voluntarily fly economy on a 10-abreast 777, as that aircraft was originally designed to have only 9 seats across. Air Tahiti looks like the better choice if flying economy.

  6. Parents with a child do not board first. They board after the A group. So you may not be getting on by yourself, dependent of what boarding number you all wind up with.

Post is not entirely clear, but I think they are saying they purchased Early Bird Check In for 1 adult and the toddler, while the other 2 adults do not have EBCI.

  7. If you end up boarding in the A group, there is a good chance you might find 2 seats together in the first 10 or so rows, but it pays to keep your eyes up and look ahead to the exit rows. My dad and I were flying ATL-DEN on New Year's Day and managed to get 11D/E on the 737-700. TONS of extra leg room. We had EBCI and our boarding number was something like A24. On our connecting flight to Spokane, were around A33 and just missed getting those same seats.

  8. DH and I are taking a cruise from LAX to Sydney (return from Auckland)
Talking Delta here, but we have not ruled out other airlines.

Delta does not serve Auckland. Have you looked into "Skycouch" on Air New Zealand?

  9. If you are checking any bags, you will need to stop at a kiosk to print/pay for your luggage tags. That same kiosk will also print out your boarding pass(es), so if you already have seat assignments, there really isn't much advantage to checking in ahead of time. If, on the other hand, you are doing carry-on only, having a mobile or printed boarding pass will allow you to skip the check in area and proceed directly to the security checkpoint
