We have sailed twice over Halloween. We took our costumes both times (Count and Mrs Dracula) We had a blast. The costume contest was awesome! We were amazed at the work some put in to their costumes and the various categories and winners wore some of the best costumes we have ever seen. One of the winners were the trio who showed up as the Blue Man Group and they totally deserved it. Big deck party before the contest and afterwards as well. Can’t say that we noticed people wearing costumes after Halloween was over, but for sure done up well the day off. Kids also had a blast! Top deck was full, couldn’t say how many people dressed up but enough that the deck party was full blast.

Using average statistics, anyone less than 5'10" (for a male) has their center of gravity below the top of the handrail, so he would have had to hop up while leaning over to fall over the rail. That is why the rail heights are set that way.
I understand but I can also picture him doing that very thing. Just depends on how badly he would have wanted to keep ahold of that vaping device. Of course, all conjecture.

Maybe, since he was vaping and drunk (according to reports) he was standing by the rail vaping, the device started to slip out of his hand, he tried to grab it, reached to far lost his balance and fell over the rail? Drunk and probably not to steady on his feet.

Why so 😕? Jackie bad mouthing the cruise lines is a good thing. You should be 🥳 🥂
She might cause demand to decline and as we all know less demand with the same supply = lower cruise fares!
Go Jackie Go!! 📣
Ok you got me there DirtyDawg ☺️ I hadn’t looked at it like that. I will give a shout out to Jackie if that happens 😉.

Do you think she just meant Carnival😁
No I think she just lumped all us cruisers into one

Jackie Heinrich on Fox News just reported on this story and declared that this is just another reason not to go on a cruise😕 give me a break. She makes it sound as if there are people falling overboard all over the place!

Not so "totally awesome" for non-American veterans, to be honest.
Sorry to respectfully disagree. We had a couple of international military servicemen at the last one we attended in October (can’t remember the country they were from) but they appeared to us to be highly honored to be recognized. Since most attendees show up, not having to sign up in advance or anything like that it would be difficult for CCL to know which countries will be represented but I don’t think anyone left feeling like they were not welcomed and graciously thanked for their service.

I'll ask this question because I have to admit, I've never attended one of these gatherings while on board a cruise ship. Do they play the national anthem for ALL nationalities of veterans on board for that sailing? Or only the American national anthem?
DH and I have been to a few of these. DH former Marine and I am retired Army. US national anthem played along with the songs representing each of the services (US forces). Towards the end a shout out was given to troops from any other countries and they were asked to stand and be recognized but national anthems from those other countries were not played. These are totally awesome celebrations to recognize our active and retired military members as well as a thank you to the families for their support.

Yes.
They knew the last time he was seen, so traced the ship's course back to that point, and set the search area from that, which was mentioned as being over 200 square miles. The man being seen as quickly as he was, was pure chance, but as soon as the sighting was reported, that narrowed the search area greatly.
Thanks that helps me a lot. Really makes it more clear just how miraculous it was finding him!

I have been trying to figure out how it was determined that he went overboard. Was it because he was missing and couldn’t be found on the ship so it was assumed he must’ve gone overboard? And how did the authorities know where he went overboard so they would know where to search? I must be missing something.

What ship is this? I believe that every cruise I have been on, the steward left the tags in our Cabin.
We just came off Liberty. Tags were at the coffee shop on Deck 5. We got there shortly after they became available to pickup and all of the early times were already gone.

yes, you dont need the internet package at all
Thanks for your quick reply shof515! Appreciate you!

Can the hub app be used without having an internet package? We weren’t planning on purchasing an internet package. I guess the days of checking our S&S accounts on the in-room TV’s are gone as well as purchasing shore excursions using the TV? Showing our age I guess 😳

Thank you MeganGC1983!!!! We sail on October 31st, first time in a few years and being able to see these has really brought back to us the fun of cruising and the excitement has really kicked in to high gear. Appreciate you:)

Awesome and thanks for the review!!!!!!! Hadn’t seen anything recently posted so very glad to read your post. We sail on Liberty for the first time leaving on Halloween and this review definitely builds up the excitement! Good tip for the balcony room as we upgraded to one. I was planning on taking a 3-way plug instead of a power strip. Hopefully that will work just fine. Appreciate you 😁😁😁

Thanks for the information. Hadn’t heard of this one. We just got another supply of government provided tests so we now have plenty.

If you consider $20 "quite expensive", you may want to hold off on booking a cruise indefinitely.
Yes, that's how much I paid for each of our home supervised tests.
If you don’t mind my asking which service provider for your supervised test did you use?

We are on this cruise too! We sailed on the Celebrity Summit (sister to Millennium) out of PR in December of 2018 and it was a great trip. I really liked the ship and both have since been "revolutionized" and I am looking forward to that. We definitely chose this cruise for the ports but I am looking forward to a nice medium sized ship. Don't need a lot of bigger ship activities with only one sea day.
I know this is a Carnival thread but glad to join you on this cruise! The itinerary is one of the best we have seen for the Southern Caribbean. We are looking forward to our first sailing on Celebrity. There is a roll call started on the Celebrity board. Not much action yet but plenty of time to converse between now and then.

1) Why are there not any options to sail from San Juan PR next summer? Most of my best trips have been based out of San Juan(eliminates a ton of travel time). Is there something going on with that port? If I remember correctly, I didn't think I noticed ANY ships leaving from SJ PR.
Not Carnival but we are sailing on Celebrity next April Southern Caribbean out of PR. This was our first itinerary ever so many years ago and we have been wanting to repeat Not all the same exact ports but some are the same ones and some will be new to us 7 nights sailing April 8. Caught a sale and couldn’t pass up this cruise Will be first on Celebrity As you said couldn’t find CCL sailing this itinerary any more.

We just got done with On Point. Could not have been easier. We clicked on the Zoom link that was emailed (another one today as a reminder), at 4p a person came on and introduced himself. Made sure it was working and we could hear, and went right to it. We did it together using an ipad and it was quick. Right at 15mins we showed him the results and he explained how we would get the results. Within 10mins of finishing the call an email was sent. Fast, and easy. And we were both negative.
Outstanding!!! I think we can handle this!

Cruising southern Caribbean out of Puerto Rico ?
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We sailed the Southern Caribbean out of PR on Celebrity in April of this year. Awesome cruise, great itinerary. We sailed on the Millenium which then went to Alaska. You may want to check this out for later this year or next?
