Why were unvaccinated adults allowed on the ship? That is just trouble waiting to happen. There is no reason for someone over the age of 12 to be unvaccinated in the U.S., much less be on a cruise.
-
Are there unvaccinated on board? We were assured several times that everyone, crew and passengers would be vaccinated. We re ready to board our 7/10 cruise and there is quite an outbreak of the Delta variant in Greece so we really don’t need to add folks without vaccinations to the mix!

No problems with the Seabourn Shield app today. Our boarding documents are not complete for our 7/10 cruise. We have over 200 MBPS in download speed so maybe that’s the difference. Our upload is under 8 MPBS. We must be lucky as we have no issues with the Shield App or the Seabourn website.

Very happy with Cunards services but I don’t use them for delicate items. For those I use the supplied machines where I can set temperature/type of wash myself. Had many interesting conversations in the laundry room with passengers and guest entertainers. Great place to touch up Husbands tux shirts.

We are also booked on this 12/3 NYC returning to NYC sailing. After the cancellation of last year’s sailing I am hoping for this Pre Christmas Cruise. Last I heard from my TA, the full payment is not due 120 days before departure. It may end up being 60 days. We are fully vaccinated and meet all of Cunard’s requirements in the latest email.

The sea sickness patches have numerous side effects including dry mouth, bad taste, loopy brain and upset stomach. Our doctor recommends the chewable Bonnie 24 hr tablets with aignicantly less side effects. You should also avoid alcohol with the patches.

It depends on the hour you leave the port. If an earlier departure like 5 pm, evening chic is totally doable.

Very bad policy to allow unvaccinated 16 and understand to roam the ship without masks spreading COVID potentially to the others who are also unvaccinated. Unfortunately some of the vaccinated may also be susceptible because the vaccine is not as effective on immune compromised individuals. This is a recipe for disaster.

Are all those venues available on embarkation day for lunch especially on the first cruises after the COVID shutdown? In pre Covid days many of the venue were closed for lunch.

Have always had a soot cabin with any aft cabins balconies on all ships. We have also not enjoyed the tobacco smoke from smokers in the Sunset Bar. Maybe the new ships burning natural gas will eliminate this problem. Best to be prepared for the soot with the aft cabins.

Seabourn’s Ovation is sailing in Greece with no masks for the passengers. The crew are masked.
The ship is supposed to be 100% vaccinated. If the Apex is not 100% vaccinated, maybe that’s why there are wearing masks. Either way, passenger masking is not a rule for Greek sailings.

If you are vaccinated you should be able to sit wherever you would like.

Did they explain why it took two hours to get your luggage at 2pm when you boarded at 12? It certainly does not seem like expedited service.

Does anyone on the board know of a Loyalty Program anywhere that hasn’t decreased in value? All of the airlines keep increasing the number of miles needed for travel while the hotel chains have increased the points needed for free stays. Celebrity is doing fairly good at not decreasing their benefits. Zenith members in the Retreat Lounge devalued the lounges value to suite guests by adding to the crowding. Zenith members still get the perk of premium beverages anywhere on board. Officers will probably start eating with guests once the COVID pandemic is over.

The higher level of service also comes with the Penthouse or higher cabins. I hope we don’t have a lot of streamers on our cruise as I bet there is only a limited bandwidth available.
-
Yes, the answer is to check your bags. South American Airlines are even more strict about the weight and size of carry ons.
-
Wasn’t easy for us on our last Seabourn voyage, but then we aren’t special guests and won’t be this time. We did get great service from our cabin attendant but other than that we had to wait for drinks and oftentimes in the busy bars by the pool and in the forward lounge we were ignored.

We are in Deck 11 of the Ovation and we board at 1PM next Saturday. Seems like they are doing it by Deck. What was the Health Questionnaire like?
-
Should have said six months but it is the same problem with controlled meds.
-
If you are taking a controlled med, i.e.the ones that can be abused and are often sold on the street, you may have problems. I can’t imagine a physician or pharmacist given you a 12 month supply of the frequently abused, very addictive medications.

Everyone flying in the day of the cruise should realize COVID flying is unlike anything experienced in the past. Airlines are not getting you to your destination as they have in the past, airports are not functioning as in the past. Until people get back to work expect many delays. Most airport employees are paid little and are certainly not eager to get back to the low paid positions. Higher paid positions are available elsewhere so airports are grossly understaffed. Good luck to anyone not anticipating the changes for the worse.

No thanks, M&PGermany, we will happily stick with our current lines, all of which offer transatlantic and transpacific cruises with many sea days. We would not have booked the Seabourn cruises in Greece if they had stayed overnight at ports.
-
I for one am happy to hear about this benefit.

I was just responding to SLSD’s post not to the OP. I still hope Seabourn does not consider altering our schedule for summer Greek cruises. The early departures are one reason we booked the cruises.

We are on 12/3 from NYC arriving Southampton 12/10 and leaving then for Christmas markets for 5 days, departing Southampton on 12/15 for NYC arriving NYC on 12/22. The dates would seem to work. I don’t know what she does after 12/22 in NYC. She was originally going to the Caribbean for Christmas but maybe that was changed.
