https://seattleexpress.com/   Seattle Express does not go to downtown hotels.   Only airport hotels.

We have booked with them for transport from pier to the airport after the cruise.

It sounds like they have multiple vans at the pier (every 15 minutes or so) and you just show your confirmation, get in and then head out when the van is full.   Has anyone used them?   Do they go straight to the airport?  Or do they stop at some of the airport hotels for drop off on the way?

did you end up using this? How did it go?

  2. Hi,

Couldnt find the answer to this, but I was wondering has anyone taken "light rail" from Seattle Airport to Downtown Seattle + walked to the cruise habour?

Google says it's a feasible walk (17 mins which is not too bad for us). We did similar walks in Syndey and Vancouver. Just wondering if anyone has tried it, I know some "walkable routes" may have logistical challenges (ie. walking through heavy traffic/unpaved roads) that sometimes google doesnt account for.

  3. we purchased a few excursions and this didnt lock into the rate this year. (it did last year) so maybe YMMV.

I was able to purchase OBC at 1 to 1.30 and withdraw it as cash on the last day at GS to "cash out" which is a few percentage points favourable compare to current exchange rates (also i paid with credit card when i did this in advance so i got some cashback on top of that). Its nothing like the 1 to 1.1 in the past but its sure is better than paying the market rate.

    Rotation on Ovation

Ovation OTS - Capt Henrik W Loy (started rotation 11-23-18)
Ovation OTS - Capt Flemming Nielsen

I believe the rotation started after Dec 13. Nielsen was still the Captain on our cruise. At the top tier event they mentioned he was going to be transitioning to the Spectrum of the Seas after this rotation (ending Dec 12).

Why would you go to guest services to add cash to your account only to take it back out at the casino?  Just use the cash for the casino or are you trying to cash out your OBC at the cashier in the casino.  If that's the case you will be charged the 5%.  If the OBC is refundable you can go to guest services as ask for the money at the end of the cruise.

Because my primary currency isnt USD. There's a small margin to be gained via CC cashback (as well convince) to withdraw USD on board. In the past this was more lucurative (canadians could acquire USD for 20% discount this way) but now a days, its more of a convenience thing (as well the OBC currency conversion is fixed 1.3 CAD to 1 USD) which isnt the case in the market. So if there is no 5% hit, this is potentially a better way to acquire USD.

  6. Has anyone recently had any luck trying to withdraw OBC with a cash account at the Casino without incurring 5% hit?

Was a hit/miss in the past, not sure what's happen recently. I was thinking of buying some OBC and withdrawing it as cash at the casino (or hoping to cash out end of cruise)

  7. Has anyone stayed in either of these cabins on Radiance Class ships?

I am booked in 8508 on the Serenade and have scoured the boards but can’t find any info on them.

Looking to see if the balcony is larger than the deck plan and if people were happy with the location.

    Thanks for your help!

    take a look here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/showthread.php?t=1306784&page=2

I stayed in RoS 8116 and quite enjoyed the larger balcony

  8. Hi all, its been awhile since I booked on RCCL but last time I booked it showed two prices for the cabin. One if you booked with a refundable deposit and one if you booked with a non-refundable deposit. I am looking at sailing on the Allure and I see they are showing a discount for two for one and for a May something special and when I price the cabin it shows these two discounts but does not give me a price if I want to book refundable.

Can you still book refundable and if so how do you do it - do you have to call RCCL instead of booking on line? Not sure which way I want to go but did want to see the difference in price if that was still an option.

    Thanks.

    Jill

If you call in there are always more options than what you can see on the website.

  9.  IF YOU BOOK A NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT FARE RATE OR A GRAND SUITE OR HIGHER CATEGORY OFSTATEROOM [OR A CATEGORY W, X, Y OR Z GUARANTEE STATEROOM], YOUR MINIMUM DEPOSIT REQUIREDWILL BE NONREFUNDABLE. THESE ARE “NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT NEXTCRUISE BOOKINGS” or “NDNBOOKINGS.” FOR NDN BOOKINGS, THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY.

 CHANGES FOR NDN BOOKINGS* : For Guests who make a NDN Booking, changes made during the first thirty (30)days after that NDN Booking was made shall not be subject to a Change Fee, changes made to the ship or sail date afterthat 30-day period has expired shall be subject to a Change Fee (currently $100 per person but subject to adjustmentwithout notice); in either case, the deposit shall remain nonrefundable.

Not that I doubt you, but I was told otherwise, that I could still make changes (same ship, same room if lower cost) until final payment day on a non-refundable booking but the rep could be wrong if what youre quoting is 'law'

  10. Let me first reiterate...there is absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of any structure hiding your view. It is a gorgeous cabin. We loved it. Unable to upload the pics due to size. Have given links to it from my facebook Not sure how helpful it is but this is what we have :)

Link doesnt work for me :(.

Looks like you got assigned an E1 Category cabin.............If you don't want to deal with that medal structure you can call or have your travel agent call and move to another E1 Category cabin.

My suggestion would be deck 7 ...Cabin 7662 is available on the starboard non smoking side.. It also has a larger balcony than the normal Category E1 Balconies.

Also curious did you book under the Senior fare Balcony Guarantee or just under the Regular Balcony Guarantee fare?

Regular guarantee, we booked direct with RCCL, my only concern is that the room is a bit far from the elevators...

  11. I have this cabin booked for Alaska summer of 2013 on the Radiance. Looking at the deck plan it looks like there is a frame projection that hinders the aft view.

Anybody has any experience with this cabin ? Any pics of the balcony might help.

Also, is there a means to keep tab on the available cabins for your sailing ?

Sorry to revive an old post

I got assigned this cabin for my cruise based on a guarantee.

Do you mind sharing pictures (if you still have them from a few years ago?)

    Thanks!
