  1. Has anyone gotten a better rate for OBC than 1.40? I called earlier today and was told 1.37. Called back to purchase 2 hours later and told 1.40 again. [emoji35]

Called today, got 1.40 as well. I was told it changes quarterly.

I miss the days of 1 to 1.10 (I might have made my cruise back through the exchange rate difference)

  2. This may be a silly question, but I'm completely inexperienced with cash accounts, having always used a cc, so please bear with me. If I want to set up my acct as a cash acct, how much money do I need to put down at the beginning of my cruise for my family of 4? Is there a minimum?

    Thank you

seeing youre from edmonton... you might want to take note of this forum...

It's advantageous to pre-pay/pre-purchase your OBC prior to getting on to the cruise

  3. I changed my dining request on the website last week with no problem, the modify button was blue, so it allowed me to edit. Some people have been reporting problems with the site lately so just keep trying. You did book direct and not through a TA?

yeah we booked direct a few weeks ago on the royal website

+its worked before for the last cruise we were on last year booked the same way

  4. I noticed that this past weekend and its been mentioned recently here on CC.

I just booked our next two cruises over the weekend and mentioned this to the C&A agent. She replied that the area of C&A is being modified but you can call in to C&A to confirm or change your preferences.

hmm just to clarify I'm talking about the Booking Dashboard though.... not the C&A upgrade preferences

  5. Hi,

I have my cruise coming up in a less than a month and I was hoping I could edit my preferences and requests on the RC website. More specifically I'm trying to edit my dinning preferences and get on the wait list for one of the set dinning times (current Im on the 'MTD'). I tried emailing RCL dinning but I got no response.

Does anyone have any idea as to whats up? I want to avoid calling in if possible... but if i have no choice then i guess thats what i'll do...

    thanks in advance!

  6. Hi,

I'll be sailing on Oasis this fall. I was wondering if anyone has a picture(s) of a D4 room (Superior Ocean View w/Balcony + Sofabed).

Is it similar to the Superior Ocean View w/Balcony on Quantum?

Do they have USB ports to charge your devices or do you need to bring your own AC adapters etc..

    Thanks in advance.

  7. This may seem like a strange request but does anyone have a photo of the sofa bad in the QOS Balcony cabin open and ready to sleep two people.

I've seen numerous photos of the Sofa being set up as a couch but not as a bed.

I am very interested in seeing it's size.

    Thanks.

I dont have a picture, but when we had our sofa bed out we had barely enough room to walk to to the balcony. between the cabinet and the sofa bed was about 1 foot of space.

  8. FCCs (mine and roomie's) finally arrived from Miami yesterday, valid till 11/30/15.

Not redeemable for Inaugural or Holiday sailings.

Only for use on Royal Caribbean, cannot be used on Celebrity etc.

I guess the pigeon got confuzzled as they had the wrong address on it...I do not live in North Ayrshire.

still waiting for mine, anyone in canada go their coupon yet

  9. just curious does royal ever do anything special for your birthday?

Was just discussing this with my family, during the qunatum tranatlantic, we had a birthday planned / celebrate on the cruise and this was selected in the pre-cruise online form. Yet on the cruise nothing happened, we did not have anything for us in our staterooms (no signs on the door like the have on princess) or cake waiting for us for dinner.

Is this 'expected'? If so, why did they even bother asking if we're celebrating anything on the cruise.

  10. Thanks for info.

That does not seem to be enough computers for so many people.

I have Windows 8.1 and am not familiar with Apple, so will not be able to use.

Probably a lot of people bring their lap tops with them.

if youre going to use a computer. typically people bring their own anyways so there are barely anyone on those computers (since you have to pay for internet regardless if you use ur own or the library computers)

  11. No matter how this issue is resolved, you can easily get to dinner without being exposed to smoke. If you use the aft elevators to deck 4 for those dining rooms, you can then also find a staircase down to deck 3 that is forward of the maître d stations for all venues and move between the complementary dining venues without nearing the casino.

The aft section of the Casino is not really the problem with smoke as they congregate around the bar that is where the word 'Casino' appears on the deck plans and then up in the corridor that moves toward the Music Hall on the forward section of the Casino.

unfortunately during the transatlantic you could the smell from the casino smokers even on the 5 floor near cruise excursions (since the stair ways was open) as well in the shops area in floor 4. The bar in the casino is near the staircase which is where most of the smokers were situated (from what I saw).

  12. You can use any card in the slot to activate the lights, it doesn't have to be your seapass. I believe someone on the forum used a Holiday Inn card!

fold a piece of paper several times into a long / thick piece and stick it in. It'll work as well. Then when you leave the cabin, you can use the door peephole window to hold your piece of paper so you can easily grab using the hallway light it whenever you enter the cabin.

  13. Holy s**t that's a long line. They should really set up a reservation system. (Selfishly, with suite guests getting priority).

However, if it breaks down, so much for reservations.

What hours is it open from?

reservations are nice but its also useless because they need to check with the bridge everytime they use the north star. The bridge will give the go/no go depending on the traffic around the ship/weather etc../= So your timeslot could be cancelled and the next timeslot could be a go which wouldnt be ideal as well since you would 'lose your spot in line'.
