But I cannot see where any reasonable person would even suspect of such a rule. At least put it in storage for the trip. We have friends who have taken a folding bike on Celebrity cruises so he can ride in port.

Is this only for GS and above? From reading this, it sounds like it applies to JS also. Just checking because we have a JS booked for Allure next year.
The sign outside says gold card only. Unfortunately, JS card is not gold.

I was wondering how long it would take Sailorjack to get mentioned.
Meanwhile, I suspect they may have been waiting for some crew member to return. Perhaps he was sent on an errand, and they were waiting on his return.

Funny you mention the price drop. Several years ago we were on a b2b on NOS, eastern Med and TA. Shortly before the Med cruise, the prices for that cruise were slashed so far that we could have had a GS for less than our balcony had cost. As it was , we were able to switch to the same JS for both legs of the cruise that saved us even more.

Great information so far...thanks. My wife and I will be on this cruise on August 21. Here's a random question: in Carrefour, did you happen to notice if they had alcohol sales?
Also, as a HUGE film fan, I'm jealous you were in Cannes during the festival. True, it must have made the place much crazier than usual, but I would willingly have put up with it.
Yes they do. In the same area as groceries.

I am curious what seat you had on your ATL-BCN flight. We are booked on that flight in November for our Reflection TA cruise.

WE take a taxi to the Hartford train station. Cabby handles luggage. The bus driver loads luggage into the bus. At the port, porters and driver offload luggage onto carts. Never touch luggage between home and stateroom. Thats why we love Entertainment. And no traffic to deal with.

What the OP is talking about is sailing out of Bayonne. Last year the port was closed by snow the day before we arrived. Question is, what would have happened if it happened the day we were scheduled to arrive. Not only do new passengers have to get on the ship, the old passengers have to get off. If everything is shut down, what happens then.
BTW, we are on the same cruise this year as OP.

As far as the 1:00 pm football game I don't know what else to tell you that I didn't already suggest in the other thread. I wish and pray that it goes faster but there is nothing anyone on board can do to help speed up the process.
Mike, I guess we can hope that they want to watch the game too!!

Celebrity does have a butler for all suites, even Sky Suite, X equivalent of JS, which means you can get ice and anything else you might want in the late afternoon when your attendent is off duty. And you can get your shareholder OBC since there is no balcony discount on X.

after many years of Celebrrity and RCL cruising, We did a transatlantic on Carnival Dream last year. Since the previous year we did a TA on Navigator, I had something to compare to. MDR was nothing special in either case, although the service wasn't as good on Carnival. To be fair, this was a new ship, so that could be a factor. The buffet on Carnival was IMHO , was the worst I have ever experienced on any ship I have been on, breakfast or lunch. Basically the same thing ever day and not what I would expect. Since both ships are somewhat similar in size, seating at meals is an issue on both ships. I believe the room service at breakfast was a continental menu, so DW would order from room service and I would try the buffet. Not a happy camper though. Totally gave up on lunch and ordered BLT's for lunch from room service. At least at lunch on RCL, there was enough of a selection in the buffet to make it worth trying to find a table.
RCI had just adopted the no food trays policy, and that was a pain. I ended up taking 2 utensil sets to get an extra napkin to lay on the table to butter my bread on. On the other hand , Carnival pointed out that they had food trays, which they said was more sanitary, and I do agree there. I did think it was funny that they would even think to mention the trays.

I just think it is curious that there are a lot of ships with what appears to be the same pods, and I have not heard of any others with the problem.

Traditional dining seats you acording to the ship schedule at the time they choose. MTD allows you to select the time you want to eat. It can be a fixed time, every night, a different time every night, or just walk in and ask to be seated. Your choice.
