  1. I prefer deck 3 the bottom deck, but they converted it over to the Dark Side, MY Time dining. Most of the waiter singing and other ceremonies start or are only on deck 3. My last Freedom cruise we were late seating on deck 4 and we had a nice seat along the railing so I could see all around, but when some entertainment happened on deck 3, everybody on our deck ran to the railing to watch. We didn't dare lift a fork or glass during that time as they pushed their way into our table trying to see.

MTD is on deck 5 now.

  2. I know there are threads that list Captain, CD, Activities director by ship. Does anyone know which ships have a breakfast area for Diamonds on up?

    Thanx

On the Freedom Diamond and up can use Giovanni's to sit and eat but have to get their food from windjammer. Chops has a sit down breakfast for gold cards only. Don't know about MDR as we never ate there.

  3. I know on the beverage packages you are charged upfront 18% gratuity on the beverage package. My question is how is that distributed? Also are you expected or is it good to tip your bartender/server on top of that? I have no problem tipping extra if I have a server or bar tender go out of their way and give me great service but I don't feel like I should have to tip extra if I just walk up to a bar, get a drink and leave as I have already paid gratuity.

Just wondering how everyone else handles this and their opinions?

We bring about $200 in singles and we tip $1 -$2 for every drink no matter where we get it. Then tip our favorites more at the end. We may be different from other people due to the fact that my wife has been a bartender for over 40 years and we know tips are very important.

  4. Yes

Yes there is. See your opening statement. It may be factored in, but it is still theft.

Why would they cut you off from purchasing more liquor on board? They aren't going to stop you from spending even more.

No they don't cut you off they suspend your package with no refund and you have to purchase your drinks after that.

  5. I did this tour. Wear a bathing suit under your clothing and bring a towel, there are no changing facilities or rest rooms near the beach. It is a nice tour, interesting, but the shopping experience is lame (implying 5th Ave is laughable, unless they are talking 5th Ave in Fort Pierce). By the way, the lunch is a box with a small tin of tuna, a packet of Miracle Whip, some crackers and a fruit cup. Definitely nothing edible or even remotely filling. You don't get it until the end of the tour as you start back to town. You can't just leave the group to head to the beach, when you get pretty much to the end of the tour you get about 15-20 minutes to splash around, or you can browse the souvenir shop if you don't want to swim.

Beautiful Fort Pierce!are you from there?

  6. When we sailed last September on FOS, we never had lobster on any of the 7 nights . It was only offered for some where near $20.00 for a whole lobster, never free for even a tail like we had before. . I hope they have them back on menu, if not, will have to buy the whole one .

We were on last Sept also and I had the 'free' lobster tail.It is served on the Jasmine menu on the second formal night.Actually i ate 3 of them and an order of short ribs.Looking forward to having them again next week!!

  7. Really? You people are complaining about the sun, on the sun deck. I personally think if you have a suite you should have two crew members follow you around. One with a fan and one with a umbrella to block the sun

That's a great suggestion. If you have a suite you deserve a great perk like that. But I don't want the sun blocked I would rather have someone run and get my drinks While I'm getting fanned.

  8. We are going on the Freedom in 2 weeks it will be my wife's 60 th birthday and our anniversary I have been torn between going to a specialty restaurant or doing chefs table for her birthday dinner. One of the reasons that I have not chosen chefs table is that she is not a big red wine drinker. Does this really make a difference in the experience and also is the food that much better than chops or Giovanni's. Thank you for you comments.

  9. We are searching for a cruise on Sept. 11, 2016, if we can find one at this late date. Our plan is to drive to Orlando and sail from there. Does anyone have a suggestion for a hotel that provides free parking for the week? We want one close to the pier. Many thanks!

We love the holiday inn express in cocoa beach. Free breakfast then they shuttle you to the pier around 10:30. Great place and very friendly staff.

  10. Ok, there is a brand new topic never done before, as far as I'm aware :)

My wife and I decided we needed a quick get away and decided to do a combo road trip/short cruise and go on Majesty for the 4th time. 3 times we have flown into Miami and cruised Majesty. I remember from those cruises, the thing I disliked about Majesty the most was all the pools and hottubs are closed at night. But I know from reading threads her for the past 10 years, things change.

Has anyone been able to take a late night soak in a Majesty hot tub? Its something we like to do (11pm or so) It won't make or break us.

Yes they were open till 11 on our July cruise.

  11. Yes it is what it is I paid one price on the Allure with the 20% discount then went on a 3 night cruise on the majesty 2 months later and with the same 20% discount it was more expensive per day than the Allure cruise but still cheaper than if I waited until I was onboard. So if you want the package it's still cheaper to buy it online with the discount than wait till your on the ship.actually the price for the packages on both ships per day were different but both reflected what I paid with the discount. So they do have different pricing per ship.
