  1. Hello all. We had the ocean villa last year that was closest to the spa and restaurant on the end. We think it was number 115 or 116. Does anyone know for sure which number it is? I have been looking at videos and pictures but cannot see any numbers. Thanks in advance
  2. What has changed from the standards? I am not talking about side bets or variations of blackjack like spanish 21. The "side room" is the high stakes room. 2 BJ tables and one Baccarat
  3. Last month on the NCL Joy: -table stakes were $10-500 some afternoons but $15-1000 up to $50-3000 at night. The side room games were $100-5000, 200-10000 and 1000-25000 games. -standard vegas rules. -Split any pairs or any tens, aces only get one card after split -double on any two cards -3:2 on $50 and above tables and stay on soft 17(hit at lower stakes)
  4. OK, I will bite. It is just like pulling into traffic with your car. If the car you pull in front of does not have to put on their brakes and you never slow them down then you are OK to cut into the line of cars or buffet line.
  5. Cutting a round pizza into mostly squares is what the Greek pizza places do sometimes. 3 cuts one way then 3 cuts perpendicular gives you 12 almost squares and 4 triangles. As for a different topping on a cruise ship, here it goes. One early evening after a day of over indulging in adult beverages I was hungry. I was passing through the buffet and spotted an odd pizza in the kids section. I tried it and was truly shocked by the odd taste. It was, get this a plain pie with peanut m&m's cooked into the cheese. It was so good. When I got home I had to make one to see if it was the booze on the ship that made it taste so good. It was just as good at home. Plain m&m's tasted bad but the peanut ones had just the right taste. I am a chef who even has a pizza oven and knows good food. This is something that I would never try but the booze that day and my cravings made me try something totally odd.
  6. Thank you all. I was suspecting that when I got the message on the phone to use the email address.
  7. I am having a hard time transferring 16 CN certs to a family member. It looks like the only way to do this is to email and wait for a response in 2-3 days(from the message on the CN phone number). The number said that the hours were 9am-6pm M-F but then said to email. Does no one answer the phone anymore? If anyone has an easier way to do this could you please share? Thanks
  8. Just got the confirmation on the 2 BR. Funny thing is that all categories and some Haven rooms were able to be booked as of now. It never went to "sold out" or "unavailable". Hopefully the Haven will not be sold out on this cruise.
  9. Joy 5/15. I had 3 of my bids expire and one is processing, so I guess that is the upgrade that I am getting. 2 BR villa on deck 18. $10 over the minimum. I did a paid upgrade from a balcony to a courtyard penthouse 2 weeks ago when the prices dropped a lot. Then I bid on the 2 BR again. All said and done my money out of pocket is still $300 less PP then my original bid on the 2 BR before I did the paid upgrade.
  10. The only way that I have ever done this is to just keep track of how much money you have bet. Once you get to the free play amount you can cash out what is left. If I have $500 free play, I will go to a $5 machine and play 5 credits per spin. I know that after 20 spins I have used up the $500. Whatever is left(money won) I can then cash out. If I am at machine that is $8.88 per spin then I will spin 57 times($506.16), then cash out. As far as I know the machine will not tell you when you can cash out. Casinos want you to keep spinning until it is gone.
  11. NCL has both live cash games and tournaments. 2-5 is the cash game with it switching to 5-10 if all agree(I saw this happen 3 times) in the last 5 non poker finals cruises I have taken with NCL. Rake is 10% up to $25.
  12. Has anyone been upgraded for this weekend(5/15) yet?
  13. I knew I could count on you. Your room is going to be awesome. I was also hoping for some updates this week from the Joy. Your are probably right though about having too good a time. I hope your wind and wave forecast changes, it looks like a bumpy ride out. Thank you again
  14. When one wants solid info, one should go to a reliable source. MKING8288, would be so kind to briefly detail what the process will be at the MCT on Sunday for the Joy? We are leaving next Sunday and with all of the different changes recently I figure you would be the one to get the facts correct. We have taken 17 cruises from MCT and 2 since October. Go directly to 88? Dedicated Haven security line? CAS and Sapphire and above lines? And anything else. You are always a wealth of information. Thanks
  15. I consider myself an expert in food and hospitality, having been trained by top tier chefs and then managing different high end dining rooms over the past 35 plus years and now a personal chef. I am not a picky eater, I can enjoy certain fast food all the way up to the finest meal in the finest restaurant around. If a dish is prepared correctly with the proper(not most expensive) ingredients then it is a success. The problem is some people do not like how a dish may be prepared properly and then the word "subjective" comes in. I have also seen people order dishes that they want "customized". Then they complain that the dish was no good. Here are a few examples of that: -Steak tartare to be seared on the outside, What???? -Steak Au poivre with no peppercorns, really???? -Crispy lamb chops, Oh boy!! These could be examples of people not liking something and using the word subjective.
