  1. Interesting. So far, no one has answered my question. I wonder why?
  2. For all those who remove tips because they say they want to pay cash at the end of the cruise... Does the total amount you tip for a seven night cruise for two equal $203? I wonder how many who remove tips pay $0 at the end of the cruise.
  3. Wrong. The company simply collects it then distributes it to the staff,
  4. I doubt you know why folks are on line at Guest Services. While at the counter, I have never heard anyone next to me ask to remove tips.
  5. Staying up after midnight on the last night just to get more free drinks? Um, I don't think so.
  6. ha! I graduated from Stuyvesant in 1962 which means we attended JHS 10 at the same time. Played intramural softball and basketball at JHS 10.
  7. Of course, that was my local high school, although I went to Stuyvesant in Manhattan. Also PS 70 and JHS 10. Can I assume you were raised in Astoria?
  8. The way not to worry about tipping is to leave the gratuities in place, not to be, as you suggest, a cheapskate.
  9. Not saying It brings "security." Certainly not. Just saying I feel safer on a ship of vaccinated folks rather than on a ship of unvaccinated.
  10. I assume you reported it. Are you saying they did nothing after it was reported?
  11. Just off Allure. The captain said we would be able to enjoy the DL for three more years. I assume that's when it will go bye-bye. Another RCCL "enhancement."
  12. Just wondering if the Solarium Bistro is open on Allure for breakfast. On other ships it has been closed but it's a nicer, quieter way to enjoy breakfast and/or lunch.
  13. Cheers with an Officer is the nicest. Before COVID, it used to be meal with an officer where one or two officers would join your table for lunch. Now they just come in for a toast but it is still a very nice lunch and a chance to meet new folks.
  14. This can be a problem across all levels. We've sat in the lounge and all we've heard is folks recounting every one of their past cruises as well as the 12 they have planned for the future. Remember folks, it's not all about you.
  15. What's the difference? Time. Printing out the receipt... waiting for it to be filled out, signed and returned... it all takes time and slows down the bar service for everyone.
  16. Yes, I know smoking was allowed back then but not to amount depicted. Detracted from the show.
  17. No special line for D or D+. Another RCCL "enhancement."
  18. Is living in Florida a "strategy?" Seriously, RCCL should reward those of us who have to pay to fly 1000 miles or more to get to a cruise.
  19. Thank you for your comments regarding the rescue of the boat people. We were on a cruise when a pontoon boat was breaking apart and ready to sink. The amazing crew rescued all the folks. The captain stated that if they had not been rescued, they all would have died within the hour. What was horrific was the attitude of some of the passengers on the ship who were angry that these folks had been rescued. Yet, think about it. These people put their lives at risk to attain freedom from communist Cuba. They are the very people America should be welcoming. In any case, they were dropped off in Mexico where, I hope, they were able to start new lives in freedom.
