Your youngest should have the exact same points as you if they are linked as linked accounts will sll show the point total of the person with the highest points.

Your 18YO will have his own actual points but retain your status if thst was higher.

Ours all posted  from this cruise.  Bumped my son to D+.  Older daughter still at D not happy with that.

    Congrats to your son!

Similar with our son but he'll remained Emerald while our DD turned Diamond.  She wasn't happy though as it meant she had to share her free drinks. 😉

Thanks .. that's what we thought would happen.  Both still have yet to be updated. We are hoping that they don't notice and they bump  our son up to Diamond but not likely.

    Are the kids over 18?

If yes, is this the first cruise at 18+?

My younger one no...She is 14 years so her points SHOULD include this past cruise.

My older one ...yes.  It's his first cruise since turning 18. Not clear if his points should freeze or be reverted....but his still shows what it showed prior .

Would that impact both of them?

We actually used them for round trip transportation, and yes you have to schedule it beforehand. I did see many people getting Uber's at Port Canaveral.

Thanks.  I guess the biggest challenge is knowing exactly when we would get off...esp if we want to head to the airport as soon as we do.  And on the way there, if our flight is delayed then that's an issue too if a shuttle is waiting.

  4. For our March cruise returning from Port Canaveral, our airline moved our flight from 2:30pm - 11:15am.  Great we'll get home earlier, but we will need to get ourselves to MCO as quick as we can.  Our plan is to self disembark as early as we can (e.g. heard they let you off around 6:30am).

Anyone know if taxis are readily available at that hour at Port Canaveral?  Or is uber better?  What's our best option?  Not looking at a shuttle service as that means waiting for others before they leave.

    Thanks.

Thanks.  Yeah, as we were disembarking on 12/31, I was thinking you and Ken and others on your sailing were out there somewhere getting ready to come onboard.

Did you guys have good weather on your sailing?  FLL was unseasonably cold when we disembarked at 48 degrees on New Year's Eve.

We really like the Odyssey as we enjoy the 270 area.  That was our favorite place to hang out and relax in the wide open space.

Lol...funny you thought the same. 🙂

Most days were cool but sunny...with one day rained off and on (Haiti) and one day hot (Dominican Republic).  Can't complain though as still much better than back home for us.

Glad you enjoyed Odyssey.  I agree...the 270 is beautiful with the floor to ceiling windows...and then loved how it also turned into screens with cool technology.

Looking forward to hearing about your cruise.

...people will have different experiences from their cruise even on the same sailing. Just a matter of personal preference on how you approach your cruise....

This sums up exactly why I love reading other's trip reports!

And thus, I was very happy to sign in this morning and see your report.  I actually though of you as we were getting on the cruise following yours (don't take that as a mean comment as it meant your cruise  was ending, but I remembered that you were on the one before us). Looking forward to hearing your experiences and your thoughts on Odyssey.  Great pictures so far!  And, happy anniversary!

Personally i would lean towards the 11 am flight as we walk off with our bags in tow , but i typically

like at least a 12 pm flight for a little more wiggle room.

If i miss it , then at least there is a chance to get on the 2 pm flight.

There is just the two of us , and the flight is only 2 hours , so no biggy if we dont sit together .

Yeah, with the airline we are using for points, we only have the option of 11am and next one is 2pm.  If 12pm, then that would be an easier decision.

My only caution would be that at times docking in Cape Liberty is delayed because of shipping traffic. I was on the Celebrity Summit which leaves out of the same terminal and we were delayed in even getting docked until about 9:30am due to shipping traffic (there was a large cargo ship that was leaving that needed the entire lane; even the cargo ship docked across from our terminal had to back out). I think debarkation started at 9:45ish, so for me that would make 11am too close for comfort.

We were lucky ad the captain notified us during his noon announcements the day before so people had time to contact their airlines, etc. (it was a moot point for me as I was just grabbing a Lyft or Uber), but I understand that it has happened more than once with Royal ships as well, and they don't always get notice.

It may not happen super often, but it's something to be aware of as you may get at best one day's notice on it; at worst the morning of.

Thanks for mentioning.  Not sure which one we are leaning but good to know that there is a risk.

  9. We have a cruise in June out of New Jersey and are looking at booking a flight.  We live in Toronto.  There are two options for the return flight....11am or 2pm.

Is the 11am too early if we self disembark?  Would be nice to just head to the airport post cruise and get home but don't want to miss our flight.

    Thanks.

Do NOT use the same email for two people with Diamond photos.  If you do then one photo will be highlighted as a favorite and the second will be an additional purchase credit.  To get both photos:

    https://photo.rccl.com/login

Usually my password doesn't work so I have to do a password reset at this site.

Download the one you picked on the ship with the email owner, then select the additional one from the greyed out ones.  Make that a favorite, then you will be given the option to purchase it.  You already have a purchase credit in the upper left corner, but it isn't obvious.  Purchase the second photo and then download.

In general you can only get a free Diamond picture if a Diamond member is in the photo.  So group photos work but pictures of only people in the other cabins don't work.  And for two Diamond members you have to log on separately to buy these.

Also found out on Odyssey that IFly pictures are NOT included and cost minimum of $35 each.

Thanks. Definitely will use separate emails next time.

The other photos have an unlock option. Do you mean if I go in there, then I can "purchase" it but it won't charge. (It's one of two photos but I don't remember which one my kids picked).  I don't want to actually pay for it at $35 each.

And yeah, I heard you must be in the free photo. Our family of 4 is in each do luckily that's not an issue. But wonder how they would know?

I ended up calling Royal yesterday.  It went to Resolutions and they said they will email me .  Let's see.

P.S. Our son did iFly but I don't even remember a photographer... Vs there was one on a past cruise on Anthem

Just note that if you get "Grande" sized drinks with to shots of espresso they hit you for two stamps.

For OP, note as well that things like an Ice Coffee only comes in the larger cup so it's 2 punches , and it doesn't cover Frappuccino's.  Having said that, we still found the coffee cards useful and purchased it when we didn't have access to the Crown Lounge, such as your son.

As other's stated, I believe Park Cafe and Cafe Promenade should have early morning coffee.

Ok that is a bit a different.  We had one, Ovation I think,  where DW listed my email and it got screwed up and never showed up.  I'd contact C&A about it. I think they will forward your concern to the ship.  Hopefully that will fix it.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing that you had same issue. Will call Royal.

We got free prints on Harmony in December. I like prints better than digital.

In hindsight, maybe we should have gone with that. At least you walk off the ship with the photos. I'll probably have tocall them and ask about our missing photo. Unfortunately our kids picked it out, and I don't remember which one we went with .

I can't answer your question but I have a question for you: Are you still able to receive a print, or are the Diamond photos only available as downloads now?

It is interesting that you are able to purchase digital photos for 30 days after the cruise, we had always been told that we have to buy on the ship as all photos are gone as soon as the cruise ends. This is a welcome change.

It was an option to get an actual print out or a digital.  I create photobooks when we return, so wanted the digital copy.

This is our first cruise as Diamond so can only comment from this experience.

  15. I have a question about the free Diamond photos and multiple rooms.  We recently got off Odyssey and DH an I were both entitled to a free photo.  Our kids were in a connecting room, and we learned that you have to be 21 or older for a free photo.

Thus, from DH and my room:  I signed on using my Sea Pass and picked one (sent to my email) and DH picked one using his Sea Pass card (sent to my email)

Our kids room has mostly the same photos but they had a few additional ones (I guess we sometimes gave their room number when getting the pictures taken)

When we returned from the cruise, i got an email about our photos being available for 30 days. When I view them, the photo that I picked has the Download button  , but the rest are greyed out.

    1. Will DH's photo come in another email?  They did say it would take 4-7 days.  Or is this the email that they send, and we did something wrong?
    2. Is there a way to see the photos for our kids room?  Or in future, we should only use our room number when taking photos?

Note:  Not to confuse things but when we selected photos, we thought our 14 year old was entitled as well so we selected our third choice and then when realized she didn't get one, they had to fix it manually so wondering if this messed up DH's free photo....as not sure what is normal process for receiving them.
