  1. It stated that you automatically receive the new card which has your NCL MC account # on it you have to apply?. I was told that 12/10 was the last charge day for the NCL account, since 12/11 was my billing date. 12/12 all charges to go onto the worldpoints account. So we had 250 points & have no time to charge enough for another 250. So we shredded the cards. I will get a new one, it will go in the safe til we cruise on NCL to charge stuff on it. 1 point per $1 charged blows, so forget that.

So I spoke with an old MBNA supervisor who still works here in Beachwoo OH for B of A. He tells me that my December billing date is the end of Compass Points & he would get em the Signature Visa instead. But that is WORLDPOINTS also, so I told him I will get Hiltonhhonors Signature Visa instead.

Now folks are hearing from NCL, that they will have great specials for their cruisers with their card\. So we will see........

Now you get an email stating that you have to apply? This is quite crazy. Did you get the letter in October on the new NCL account?

It was a BoA email. Kinda strange cause the only account we have with them is the NCL card, and yet they are telling us to apply for the new card...? I thought we were all supposed to be switched over automatically come the first of the year?

    nclemail.JPG

  2. You received an email from whom??? B of A, NCL, NCL booking agent, CAS?

This is from an email I received:

    • Exclusive cruise offers for NCL cardholders only, as we well as last minute criuse redemption opportunities.

So, it sounds it sounds like it might be a LITTLE better than the normal WorldPoints program. I'm guessing nothing as good as the Compass levels.

  3. was the gentleman that heads the banks getting their money too stay in business. He stated that credit cards will be making some major changes for banks to make plenty just lke they do with ATMs. First thing is the interest rate may double & interest will be charged on all new purchases i a balance is showing. APRs will double or even triple. And the free, no annual fee credt cards may go to $100 a year. When I heard that I told my huband that we do CITI AMEX Platinum for the biggest bang. No other credit card that we have is worth $100.

So keep eyes out on the latest rip off to good people. Post here if you red ro hear of anything on this topic.

  4. So I clicked on LEARN MORE area of the Compass Rewards logo to the left of my $-0- balance due for December. 250 points as of Nov 30th & we shredded our cards since we are HH Signature Visa now.

So they are changing from what I was told & what was written in B of A area when they removed the Platinum Plus MC from available travel cards. Worldpoints seems to lurk everywhere for just about everyone. Even the B of A Signature Visa is Worldpoints so forget that.........

So now NCL is saying different things from what was said when we got the letter & called both B of A & NCL. So read this:

    http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/cruiser/cmsPages.html?pageId=CompassRewardsFAQ#MasterCardChanging

  5. the $200 credit that isn't used from the $2000 credit from the old credit card will post to the new one since the same account # is used to the new one.

Ok let me make sure I understand. After I pay my $2000. with my Cert I will have

$200 credit so I can call and pre order something and they will take

    from my $200. credit???

  6. We use AMEX to book & get the perks & fly with HH and their BOGO flights. To fly international with points that is AMEX & Virgin Atlantic to London. But to book a cruise & use both sets of points may be difficult. Since both want you to book through them to use points. To book each of us with one of them would not work.

AFt Lover - I know you have both HH Visa and HH MEX.

If you have both can you combine points from both cards

    to get your rewards????

    Thanks

  7. so you use the money in advance to have the credit applied. Or buy a romance package with the robes for over $200, check the deals out. So go visit NCL.com & see what to buy now so your charge is there to apply the credit to or around final payment time.

  8. We always search for an itinerary & price tat w feel is best. We will wait til 2 months before the cruise to shop if we are not emailed or postal mailed specials from lines. Whomever has the best wins & so far it is NCL but we do not cruise below Dawn.

As we spend a lot of money on our bill, once we use the points to get on the ship.

They will lose in the long run but I think currently they are stepping over dollars to pick up pennies.

I will look for another line to cruise at times If I don't have NCL awards. I go for the best deal.

  9. My friend here in Cleveland, that is one MBNA survivor & is a Supervisor, tells me that Worldpoints is the card that B of A use to replace cancelled cards. Then he is telling me I can get their Signature Visa instead, so I click on it on their web site & see Signature Visa with WOLDPOINTS and told him, no thanks, I will take HH card instead for best rewards. I am very happy with that card & the points you get. But they are in companionship with Carnival, as I call it, and they want 125,000 points for a good reward. So I told NCL to talk with Citi on this card to get us all very happy here since B of A wants to *crew us. I told NCL they do not want to lose great customers.

  10. both had the WORLDPOINT cards. If you had 2500 points, that got you $25 OBC, but not really. You just cover the last 2 zeros to see your reward but 25000 for $250 OBC. And remember $25,000 to get 25,000 points. Having 100 shares of stock go you $150 OBC - $300 OBC depending on length & accomodations.

So NCL better have a better type of Worldpoints to keep any of us. We are far from stupid!

Just browsing the BoA website and they do offer the Royal Caribbean Visa card. Does anyone know what the reward levels for that card are? From the description and name of the card it doesn't appear to be a WorldPoints card.
  11. I just got one this morning via email. It asked what banks I have credit cards with so I answered Citi, B of A, Amex, and then it sked what credit cards I have with each bank: HH Signature Via with Citi, Norweigan Plat Plus MC for B of A & Blue with Amex. They asked if I pay an annual fee, and all were NO.

Then it asked if I received a letter in October that one of my cards was being cancelled & I said YES. Then which card: Norwegian's. Then it asked if I was given a choice of a new card: NO. Then it asked what card was the replacement: WORLDPOINTS I marked.

Then it asked ratings for the original card vs Worldpoints. Then it sked how many time I cruised & with whom in the past year. NCL TWICE. If my cruising will be less this coming year & why. I stated the loss of Compass Rewards from the Norwegian Platinum Plus MC. Then it asked the rewards I wanted: $500-$3000 discount for each cruise for 500-3000 points. Then it asked earning the awards & my answer: from cruiseline & from everyday spending with warranty protection of an additional year. Then I marked 5 points per dollar for groceries including warehouse clubs,

gas, drugstores, 10 points per $1 for NCL purchases (cruise fare, cruise gifts, excursions). Then I added special promotions each month on cruises or large ticket items.

So get ready to receive it & tell them off too!

I vote for NCL doing this, or B of A is getting Worldpoints organized for our awards with all the calls we are making to them.

  12. Your billing date in December is the end of NCL Compass Rewards. Any charges after that date go to the new NCL WorldPoints card. We will not know any info on them til we get the welcome package with the card. Right now the Worldpoints area (including B of A Signature Visa card) shows a $500 credit for $50,000 in purchases. $10,000 give $100. $1000 would give $1 but they do not do that. I am hoping with all the calls NCL has gotten from us that they are improving this for us but I don't think so.

I had a callback from marketing at HiltonHHonors about adding NCL to their cruise area. When he read thousands will sign up for the card that awoken him. He may be here reading us since I told him there is hundreds of posts on B of A changing NCL's card to WorldPoints. I told him we got a $500 cruise credit for 500 points. With the great point earning that HH gives I told him 5000 points would be fair also. Sure better than having to spend $50,000 to get 500 points to get a credit with. So now I await the result.

  13. We got 250 points & have shredded our cards. As I told my friend, a Supervisor at B of A that an upgrade is useless since we purchase a BVA AFT cabin and cannot upgrade to a mini suite which is a balcony stateroom since it is in the suite area without the suite perks So he stated he would have them do that on 12/17 since I am a -0- balance as of 11/17. No need to charge more to get -0- for them since 500 will not happen.

  14. In the winter with charges over $100 for natural gas for heating, Dominion East Ohio Gas has always charged $5.95 to process credit card payments same with Official Payments who process property taxes for Cuyahoga County. This has been going on for over 10 years & they have never been told they cannot do that.

    I agree!!!
  15. As the CEO changed me when Delta bumped us from our Hawaiian flight 11 months after I booked it at the airport when we were boarding. I phone AMEX NYC immediately & told them we are bumped for using Skymiles not a credit card. I told them we did it for 15 years with our timeshare. CEO tells me they give Delta $46 mil & that is how they are thanked. So he got us on the flight FC & a rental car free also. Then we get home to a AMEX BLUE account with miles tranferred from Delta. So we can use the miles on ANY airline. NO FEE and great ways to get triple miles at their mall. So call them to change to it now!!!!

    Thanks!!! For all the info.

I also had an AMEX Delta Miles, I still have it but I don't use it fopr the same reasons you mentioned. I could never get the flights I needed even a year in advance.

I don't care for an annual fee, but still looking for the best points wards at this time.

    Thanks

  16. We are all very interested in what the new NCL Worldpoints card and what we will be getting & for how much (ei: $500 credit for $50K in charges).

So whomever is first to receive their new card with welcome package to post what it says & if you are storing it to use on NCL only or if it is worth using for everything (warranty coverage up to additonal year).

  17. since they can bump you from flights you booked with Skymiles. So hat credit card is a joke. So get BLUE from Amex. This way you can get air, car rentals, hotels, cruise rewards, even gift cards to restaurants. Triple points when you buy throught their MALL.

Cashbacks are a joke. They state 1% but that after you have charged $1000-$3000. Even Discover's Gas card has a $100 ceiling for 5% which gets me 7 blockbuster movies every 4 months. SO FORGET THEM!

Then Citi HiltonHHonor Signature Visa which is so much better than B of A's which is WORLDPOINT REWARDS. You get 3 points per $1 for groceries & gasoline. 5 for Hilton hotels, 2 for everything else. Now if we can get them to get NCL with Carnial or instead of arnival. We are HH members for over 20 years so we get double that points. W are SILVER MEMBERS too for more perks at the hotel.

Could you explain that again please? Had trouble following the message.

    Dianne

  18. when they bounced us from our RT Hawaii flight booked 11 months earlier after 15 years with AMEX Delta Skymiles card. 70k miles was 2 RT tickets CLE-OGG til we were told we got tickets from Skymiles & not cash. So a call to AMEX NYC & the CEO was ticked with the lack of respect for a company that gave $46mil for them. So he got us on he flight FC RT & took care of our rental car which was cancelled by Delta. Then he closes our Skymiles & makes us BLUE. Great card with great rewards from their MALL with triple miles. Good for any airline including Virgin Atlants, tic. Good for car rental, gift cards to restaurants. Plus they cover warranties up to 5 years with the 6th on them.

Hilton Honors Signatue Visa is next with great rewards. Earn 3 points for gas, drug stores & groceries, 5 for Hilton Hotel stays icluding meals & purchases at the hotel. Long term HH members get double. Great point deductions for stays since you are automatically SILVER status.

Wow!!! That low-spending tier restriction was SO buried!!! It took a lot of time & digging to find that on the Amex website even knowing it was there from your posting!!

What a restriction -- not many businesses spend less than $15M a year!

Thanks for letting me know BEFORE I ordered the card! You're right that the Amex Blue personal card is so far the best cash back.

  19. with the banks folding, being taken over by other banks, and all awaiting millions to use; many are killing credit card offers since mortages have taken their toll on the credit industry. So NCL's card many be a loss for B of A with us getting $500-$3000 off cruises and paying our accounts off monthly so they make -0-. Then they give us a card that is a loser. So now if NCL makes it a good card for us that may be different but they have no idea the perks involved when I called & asked for marketing.

  20. I checked out the card being romanced to me by a Supervisor. Signature Visa with Worldpoints is $1 per point & $50,000 for $500 reward, so forget that! We will use that new NCL card for NCL cruises unless HH Sign Visa gets NCL for cruise rewards. Citi HiltonHHonors Signature Visa is #1 with us!!! BOGO air & great hotels for FREE.

I went back about 10 pages in this thread, but the only one I saw mentioned was the Hilton Honors Visa. There is no way we're sticking with Bank of America and that [?*>/~$#] WorldPoints replacement. We want to choose a good one, maybe airline or hotel, that will give us a great bang for the buck.
  21. Is one great card next to AMEX BLUE. Saved $300 on air CLE-EWR 10/18 with BOGO air booked with HH agency. Spend $125 & GET 15,000 POINTS. They state enough for 2 nights. SILVER status for Hilton chain stays. Too bad no airport club for free that is AMEX Platinum only. One extra year for warranty coverage. We still use AMEX Blue for warranties over a year for the extra year up to 5 year warranty making it 6. They NDA'd the cards to us for the next day's use. So NCL MC is in the safe til the new one shows to see what it is giving. Then it will be NCL charges only if $50,000 for $500 credit. HH SignVisa has cruise perks but with Carnival right now, so we have to alert them to NCL to get them thousands signing up for the card.

Well, Adele, we might use our SWA Chase card - at least we'll be able to fly free to our cruise ports.
  22. and the cards went thru the shredder since we do not plan to add another thousand for a few points. HH Signature Visa is getting them, and we bought a new computer with 20" monitor for $600 and that charge went to AMEX BLUE since the 3 year warranty will be 4 with them, not Citi. If a warranty is one year, then HH Signature Visa gets it,to double it, over that AMEX BLUE gets it with their great coverage. Love the buy an airfare & get one free when you buy with Citi's agency & they have good rates. $300 for both of us to fly to Newark & they covered us for Hilton hotel when flights were cancelled with ice, high winds, etc. Too bad no airport clubs anymore.

Have no $8000 to get another 250, so they are over with us. I expect a $250 certificate off a cruise, if it is upgrades then I will wheel & deal for them to get us on a cruise when book with them.
