Are there front line workers that didn't get vaccinated because these people did?  Or would these doses have been thrown away because no "priority" people were available in that time window to get the vaccine?

The priority tiers are very muddied. I could find several reasons why you'd vaccinate someone younger before someone older. I could also find several reasons for the opposite.

I'm not sure what the flight schedules looked like pre-covid to know how they compare to now. 

One problem with Barbados is that it's a PITA to get to if you're not already in the eastern have of the USA.

No way Barbados has more strict sailing requirements than the CDC.

My school district has been in person all year. Kids 10 and under don't have to wear masks. We've had zero in-school transmission of covid and less than 2 dozen kids/teachers/staff across the whole district who missed school due to covid or potential covid exposure.

Not surprisingly, lack of response from the CDC is why test cruises haven't happened yet, and then connect the dots as to why cruise lines canceled 2 more months.

Well it says the global fleet is canceled through April except for Singapore and China. Wouldn't those canceled by default include Japan?

The common flu is much more dangerous to kids than covid. If they would required covid vaccinations for kids but not flu vaccinations for kids, that would sure tell that it's not a medical decision.

Maybe contracts are dated first of the month for accounting or orientation/training purposes, but Independence is in the middle of a cruise on June 1.

Is it possible to use the FCCs before actually getting the email that says you have them? Or if I called today, would they just say the FCCs aren't yet in their system to apply?

I understand it'd work the same way as cruise fares do. You'd carry over the OBC from any FCC cruise planner purchases, then the new FCC for any new purchases. Or just get a straight refund.

They've only canceled through April. And if it's June and there haven't been test cruises yet, then you can just forget about cruising ever again.

Disappointing, but expected.

I know it says FCC emails will be sent in the coming weeks, but if I call, can I rebook something immediately with FCC?

If 50 people are running around with 2 doses at 95%, and 50 others have no vaccine, only about 50% are protected.

I believe, in my opinion, RCG is hopeful and depending on the vaccine to begin cruising. The new administration is toying with delaying the 2nd dose outside of protocols.  We are hearing a 100 Million vaccines in 100 days. Only way to do this is hold off on the second dose. You think sailing will resume is only 52% ability to fight off the virus?  Two doses in tested timeframe are the protocol for 95%. 
 

Something to ponder. 

The problem right now isn't lack of vaccines, it's lack of states actually administering he vaccines.

Plus giving say 100 people one dose at 50% efficacy and not the second is nearly as effective as giving 50 people both doses at 95% efficacy

I dont need a marketing ploy to get it at my age. I've been pushing to get the vaccine. 

 

Oh it certainly exists. But the term is being used very improperly by the media and politicians. Even the WHO changed its definition conveniently just for covid.

Since booking the flights last month, I have already made 4 price adjustments. Love SW even if we have to fly into LaGuardia rather than Newark for Cape Liberty.

I thought only those flights canceled in the spring had Dec 2022 dates. Otherwise it's the standard 1 year.

Maybe we will hit herd immunity before late fall as predicted with this new strain of covid and many many more cases. If we are waiting for herd immunity as some think, my sept booking is even a worry.

Herd immunity is a marketing ploy at this point.
