I know you are clear. It gets me that some have no shame. They are working what appears to be a loophole (I don't know anything about NJ priorities). They are not front line anything.

Are there front line workers that didn't get vaccinated because these people did?  Or would these doses have been thrown away because no "priority" people were available in that time window to get the vaccine?

  2. No way Barbados has more strict sailing requirements than the CDC.

Get ready for sun-soaked adventures to captivating shores onboard
Grandeur of the Seas®, sailing from our newest home port — beautiful
Bridgetown, Barbados. With its lush hills and valleys, and rich Bajan flavor,
Barbados is an unforgettable destination in its own right. And for the first
time ever, this tropical paradise unlocks spectacular shores in the southern
Caribbean, Central America and beyond — including these three new ports.

I think that's the point, they will be doing zoom, the teachers assoc doesnt want in person classes.

My school district has been in person all year. Kids 10 and under don't have to wear masks. We've had zero in-school transmission of covid and less than 2 dozen kids/teachers/staff across the whole district who missed school due to covid or potential covid exposure.

Teachers unions are doing extreme harm to their students by refusing to go back into the classroom

Correct.  You have to wait until they are issued.  If you are booking a cruise they can hold it for you with no money down until the FCC’s are issued. If you have a final payment coming up they can extend the final payment date.

Thanks. I want a late summer cruise to replace the March one that just got nixed.

Anyone know if OBC (originally booked via NextCruise) would carry over to a new cruise from a canceled cruise?

Heard from a friend yesterday that is a bartender with Royal.

He just signed a contract with Royal to start on June 1 on Independence of the seas. Hope this means they are finally going to start sailing again.

Maybe contracts are dated first of the month for accounting or orientation/training purposes, but Independence is in the middle of a cruise on June 1.

    Have you thought of this....

I believe, in my opinion, RCG is hopeful and depending on the vaccine to begin cruising. The new administration is toying with delaying the 2nd dose outside of protocols.  We are hearing a 100 Million vaccines in 100 days. Only way to do this is hold off on the second dose. You think sailing will resume is only 52% ability to fight off the virus?  Two doses in tested timeframe are the protocol for 95%.

    Something to ponder.

The problem right now isn't lack of vaccines, it's lack of states actually administering he vaccines.

Plus giving say 100 people one dose at 50% efficacy and not the second is nearly as effective as giving 50 people both doses at 95% efficacy

I booked my flights for this summer as soon as SW released them. One leg is on vouchers the other leg with points. Either way, I can cancel at anytime with no penalty. And the vouchers are good till Dec 2022 so can use them next year if needed (and things are better next year.) The points will just go back into my RR account.

Since booking the flights last month, I have already made 4 price adjustments. Love SW even if we have to fly into LaGuardia rather than Newark for Cape Liberty.

I thought only those flights canceled in the spring had Dec 2022 dates. Otherwise it's the standard 1 year.

Yes, that's what I've been saying there is no reason for rcl to take a position on a cruise that has a high probability of getting cancelled. Same same.

Maybe we will hit herd immunity before late fall as predicted with this new strain of covid and many many more cases. If we are waiting for herd immunity as some think, my sept booking is even a worry.

Herd immunity is a marketing ploy at this point.
