At 11:00 AM we went to the specialty restaurant tasting.  We were given a glass of champagne and walked to all five specialty restaurants for samples of their food offerings.  This is a free event and is an excellent way of finding out if you like the food at a particular venue.

I would love to do this. Is this free for everyone or just YC? Do you sign up for it ahead of time? How did you find out about it?

Thanks for your review—we are looking forward to sailing Seascape in October

While I waited, I figured I would check to make sure my key card was linked to my credit card for onboard spending. I had done it online ahead of time, but I saw/read so many complaints online about that not working, that I wanted to double-check. Just like the first sailing, it was linked as expected, so I didn't have to do anything.

Jaime do you happen to know if you can link a different credit card for each person in the same cabin? I’m sailing with my adult son in October and it would be great if we could. Thanks for the live review and information—I’m really enjoying it and taking lots of notes 🙂

This is from Seaside in 2019.  They had them in the MSC shop on deck 8, but they come with your muster assembly station on them (mine was F) and that shop didn’t have that station, so I had to go to guest services.  It’s all rubber except the metal fastener.  I found the fastener nearly impossible to close, even with two hands so I had to fasten it loosely to slide over my wrist.  Maybe a little Vaseline or lotion would make it work.

Thanks for the info and pics.

Is there an updated bar price list posted somewhere on CC?  I’d like to look it over if you can point me in the right direction..

I saw it recently on another site, but couldn't find it again today.  Senior problems.  Only one I remember was "Dirty Banana" at $18.  (Not my favorite, by any means, but I considered it typical.)

Post #18 has many drink list pics.  Dirty banana is showing as $12.

Spent a lot of time there last week - tell Elliot his Kentucky friends from last week said hi!  It's his first week running the bar there.  He was practicing on us last week.  He is really funny - very dry sense of humor.  The pumpkin "St Lucia" cocktails is one of the best I've had.

@_rusty_shackleford now we know what happened to all the Kentucky bourbon 🥃

I'm onboard right now. I've got a live thread going and I'll either post it there or edit this comment with a picture. Maybe both if my CRS disease takes the day off.

I will say anecdotally there are plenty of options under $15 to the point I haven't even really thought of looking closer at what isn't included but I haven't spent much time at GS yet. The standout unavailable/discontinued spirits so far are Maker's Mark, Knob Creek, and Crown Royal.

I own this coffee mug lol. I appreciate you getting the price list.

The price of our cruise just dropped. Can we make the change via the “live chat” or must we contact our CVP?
    Thank you!

Personally, if you have a CVP that you really like and trust like I do, I would call them.  I pick specific cabin locations and wouldn't want to chance a random live chat person to keep it.

    HUGE favor to ask..

on the drink menu; it showed “Blantons Bourbon”..can you see if that’s ANYWHERE on the ship?! Last sailing we saw the same thing on the menu..but NONE of the bartenders had any idea what Blantons was..(it’s bottle is VERY distinct..looks like a hand grenade with a race horse on the bottle topper)

    thanks!

I would be shocked if they have Blantons in stock....it's difficult to find here in KY where it's made lol.

The Plus and Premier FARE options will not show in Onboard Services.  Only shows something there if you actually purchased the stand-alone beverage packages (don't do it - bad economics).

As some others pointed out above, you need to download your Travel Summary from the Cruise Personalizer in order to see all of your included options.

I didn’t purchase mine as a stand alone beverage package and it shows up there—lists all the components of the Princess plus package and says “compliments of Princess cruises” which I find the wording odd since I paid for it lol.

I'm vegetarian not vegan so, yes, I eat dairy and cheese. I'm not a pescatarian so I don't eat fish

    > starters: vegetable terrine (looks like ratatouille) & ginger-carrot-coconut soup

    > main dish: onion vegetable tart & goat cheese souffle

I think terrine has gelatin in it (at least the one I tried once did.)

It was music trivia on Divina. They played the first part of each song and you had to write the name of the song on the form.

Thank you.  That is what I figured.  Other cruiselines call it music trivia, so I was hoping this was actually more like the show.  I love music trivia, so all good 🙂

Just boarded the Discovery Princess today, February 20th. I waited to purchase the Princess Plus when I got onboard. For our 5 night Cabo cruise, I had $250 OBC and was able to apply it to purchasing the $300 Princess Plus package. The big problem was the internet. When buying the Princess Plus package on board, I dont think the Medallion Net login registered, so had to go to the Cafe and have a crew member make sure my account had internet.

Pre-cruise, the Medallion Net price was $100 for 5 nights four devices (Elite member). Once I got on board, the internet was only $62.75 for four devices. It might be a happy accident. After I signed up for Princess Plus, I only had to pay $25 more to upgrade the included 1-device internet to the 4-device internet. I'm not sure why internet was so much more expensive pre-cruise.

I think most of the staff are confused. I tried ordering a Espresso Martini and staff told me that I would have to pay the difference even though it states that the Princess Plus covers $15 from today onwards. The difference hasn't shown up in my account, so that's a win! Better drink as many Espresso Martinis before the price gets hiked.

The gelato man is equally confused. He didn't know if the special Amaretto dessert with Disarono liquer counted towards the two special desserts. He said he would have to charge $7.50. He thought the plans would be updated 2/25, so I think the crew is equally confused and there comes some delays. The special gelato sundae with alcohol also has not shown up in my folio yet, so I believe it has been counted in the Princess Plus package.

One last thing with the crew being confused, ordering through the app for a mango margarita in the Piazza took forever. After 1.5 hours of waiting, we decided to leave the Piazza; maybe they had lost our order. While in the MDR a staff came two hours after we placed our order with the Mango Margarita. Big big delays on board. Haven't signed up for a fitness class yet. Will have to look into it tomorrow!

Thanks for the real life experience about the new plus package. Hopefully they will have all the kinks worked out by the time I board next month.

Yes, there will be people selling tours and excursions right off the ship, but IMO Ensenada doesn't have a great deal to do as far as that goes...there is the La Bufadora that is popular but it's kind of far it's definitely crowded and IMO only about 5 minutes' worth of interesting.  The last time our ship stopped in Ensenada we only walked around and go something to eat and even that only entertained us for like 2 hours.  It's my least favorite stop.

This is kind of what I figured....I've been researching this port and just haven't really found anything that jumps out at me.  I'm sure we will just walk around the port area for a bit and then head back to the ship.  I appreciate your response.
